Doug you and Frank would love em I reckon, they put a good bend in your rod with some heart stopping runs. That said you've got some great fishing out there already. Swap me some Barramundi? 😂
Thanks Adam that's very kind . Ahh well sometimes it can be easier but there's all the other times when it isn't. A friend once said to me whilst he was catching plenty of tench "anyone can look good when they are catching" and that's something I wholeheartedly agree with.
Cheers Paul, I like to tinker about a bit, it's not always convenient when in a rush but making sure I always have some rolled and a mix in happy with goes a long way.
Alright Mark I dont no really no where to start cuz from Warwickshire not really a barbel county & avon not that far away but them very scarce so need to go where they are my friend so I catch & see how thing work cant wait & plenty of nice river around but no barbel their so my friend also the river severn is about a hr or away & have some nice river around me but no barbel so my friend any help or advice much appreciated Mark, tight lines
Very welcome Chris, I enjoy making them, I'm trying to keep to some regular releases currently too. Some filmed in summer, some filmed in autumn and some filmed in winter. A mixture. Thanks again for your support 🙏👍
Well done Mark, another great fish from another intimate little river,it must be really satisfying catching on your own made bait ,respect for coping with those bloody mozzie's,they would drive me nuts. Keep the videos coming ,brother much appreciated
Thanks Richard, oh god the mozzies are bad to be honest, some the size of little match boxes and unfortunately I'm one of those people they love making a banquet out of 😂. Yes I do enjoy catching on my own rolled baits, it's fun tweaking and making your own unique mix.
Ah true Benjamin, do like a nice summers evening, late summer evenings are nice too. Sitting wondering what if or might happen and then sometimes it does!
Cracking Barbel well done Mark another Quality video, The good days always out weigh the bad days please keep uploading thank you for putting in the effort and your time.
Well done Mark. Lovely Barbel. Enjoy the fishing and the enjoyment you get from it. As you say keep the faith. We all need to do that. Keep the videos coming ❤
Thank you Darren and I've got more videos to come, after all the sporadic times it's nice to be able to finally give you guys some more regular content.
wow what an absolute clonker very well done sir, you wouldn't think such an absolute beast would live in a small waterway like that. Thanks Mark for taking the time and trouble to do what you do much appreciated.👍👍👍
Thanks Paul, have to keep the faith, I have tough trips. I think the most important thing is to enjoy every fishing trip no matter what. I would say without my fishing and you guys on youtube my mental health would be a lot worse.
Well done Mark another wonderful fish, You put the work in and reap the rewards well deserved. They must be seriously hard baits to beat the dreaded crays. They attack my bait before i even get the rod in the rest. But like you say keep trying Peter
Thanks John. Yes it does help remove an additional area of worry where bait is concerned and allows you to focus on locating and spending focus on other key areas.
Again cracking vid Mark,😊keep them coming bud!My night shift goes that much quicker!!!! Possibly out to East Stoke tomorrow levels looking good and temps favourable!
Don't suppose you've ever considered making up some of your concoctions for sale have you Mark ? I just wondered how they might fare up here in Yorkshire. Keep up the good work and videos anyway mate.👍
Thanks mate, now that I'm feeling better I spent today helping out a little on a work party but whilst there I was wishing that I was fishing if honest.
Another great double there Mark I like that style of barbel fishing on these smaller rivers where you build up your knowledge and watercraft and patience are key just these type of venues are hard to come by
Cheers mate and yes you do have to have your finger on the pulse more so to speak as the room for error is lower. Over the years it's given me a lot of lessons in humility to be fair which is no bad thing.
@markerd5378 I like fishing the Trent but depending on the conditions it's sometimes like beach casting launching a 4 oz feeder 70 metres which I don't consider skilful- just lucky really although I'm slowly building a picture of where I go - it's a different sort of challenge is what I'm trying to say
Well done mark on the fish and the homemade bait
Thanks jake! 🙏💯
well done Mark, i very impress to fishing with centerpin! perhaps for big fish with your technic! see you soon
Merci Eric, maybe try some with centre pin yourself in France ❤ it is great fun.
Can you send some over to Oz Mark , Frank and I have never caught one... ATB tight lines 👍
Doug you and Frank would love em I reckon, they put a good bend in your rod with some heart stopping runs. That said you've got some great fishing out there already. Swap me some Barramundi? 😂

Agreed Stephen, room for her to fill out over winter. Thanks for watching too 💯👍
Good stuff, Mark. It's a lovely little river. Really can't beat the intimacy of small rivers.
Thanks Richard and you're right, it's hard to beat a small waterway, even the most moody.
What a fish Mark. Id be happy with a quarter that size. Thanks for the new video.
Thank you Mark, I was made up with her, makes up for some of the blanks too.
Good angling also nice to see you roll your own bait makes a catch all that much better.
Thanks Snipe and yes it's a good feeling to catch on your own tinkering.
WHAT a fish 🤩 Small river as well. That would smash my PB. AND on your own bait… Marvellous 👏🕶️
Thanks John ❤, yes it is satisfying and also makes for it's own set of conundrums sometimes!
Well done Mark.Excellent Barbel.
Thank you very much Blondie 🙏
You would quickly forget the blanks when you catch such a beautiful fish as that Mark - excellent!
Thanks Frank and that's for certain, the blanks pale into insignificance.
You made that look easy Mark congrats on that beauty
Thanks Adam that's very kind . Ahh well sometimes it can be easier but there's all the other times when it isn't. A friend once said to me whilst he was catching plenty of tench "anyone can look good when they are catching" and that's something I wholeheartedly agree with.

Thanks Spoons, hopefully you will soon. What river are you fishing for them?
@markerd5378 Sussex ouse

Thanks, depends on how many crayfish are at home at times can be very bad along most of my rivers but some spots are real hot spots on the wrong days.
Fabulous barbel Mark! Well done. Your bait really seems to be doing the business 👍
Cheers Paul, I like to tinker about a bit, it's not always convenient when in a rush but making sure I always have some rolled and a mix in happy with goes a long way.
