When you see Nathan Lyon or Moeen Ali in tests, they just bowl the ball non-stop outside off stump into the rough patches whereas Ashwin unnecessarily tries too many varieties and bowls inconsistent lengths. E.g. 2013 Jo’berg 2013, 4th-5th test vs England 2014, 4th test England 2018. He fails in overseas tests when we need him the most due to his over smartness. He should look at Harbhajan’s bowling in NZ 2009 and South Africa 2010-11.
