    AWESOME. My Mother stopped driving at AGE 92 AND GAVE ME HER CAR ! ! This is the project I have ahead of me
    as the front edge of the dash has receded a LOT, but not as bad as my own hair line. Thanks to YOU.

    Thank you so much for these videos. I bought a 2002 Lesabre with only 11,000 miles, great condition except the dash curling up. Now I know how to fix it. Good job. Thanks

    Fantastic video series. Thanks! The Buick dealership wanted over $600 just to remove and put back the dash while I went to an auto upholstery place to get it fixed. With the help of these videos I did it myself. The only difference was my 2002 had a push-in clip for the piece under the defroster vent. The push-in part was toward the window.

    Very helpful video! Thanks. My mother-in-law has a 2003 LeSabre. Same issue. I was able to just remove the left vertical trim piece and the front vent cowling and was able to screw down the warped dash piece using an angle drill.

    First off, excellent video series, Buickmikee! I began the repair today. Note: 12:25 of Part 1 video: My ambient light sensor was different than the one shown. I have a limited with CJ2 option. The connection is a large bayonet plug and the sensor itself has a large hump that faces the front of the vehicle. You will need to approach it from above this point with a very small flat blade screwdriver to depress and release the bayonet on the plug. Apparently there are two styles. You will not be able to see this unless you have a small inspection mirror. I couldn't find mine, and I ended up breaking the sensor during removal. Just a heads-up. Thanks for these great videos, Buickmikee!

    Thanks! This video gave me the confidence to repair the dash on my 2004 Buick LeSabre. Other than dropping a bolt down the back of the dash everything went smoothly. I would have never thought to start at the defroster panel.

    Thanks for the video. Sun and extreme temperatures cause this. Got a 04, garaged since it was new. Interior looks like new, other than driver seat and buttons, wear and tear.

    Solid cars! Got 1 & would like another. Fix the intake manifold & plastic tubes on the water pump & I would not be fearful of a cross country trip. They're near bullet proof. Such a good presentation however an update would be nice 😀 Cheers!

    This is a good idea switch your trunk switch from the dash to driver side. And pick up one of those $10 inverters from Walmart at the auto department then you riding with AC and DC

    I am having this issue with my wifes 2000 lesabre. It looks like the adhesive on the pad just breaks loose, causing the buckling. Would it just be easier to get an adhesive and glue it back down?

    GREAT video... thanks for making it. I do have a question tho. I pulled a used dash pad from a car a donor car at the bone yard. It was near perfect when I started but by the time I got it home it had pulled away little on D/S. How did you "pull: the dash pad downward in order to align it correctly before rivets? Did you use a heat gun to soften it? thanks in advance..

    • @buickmikee1776
      @buickmikee1776  9 лет назад

      Robert, Thanks for the inquiry. The dash pad I took out of the donor car was perfect. It did NOT lift at all.The reason I put the rivets in, was so that it woudn't even begin to raise later. I don't have a good solution to "pulling it back". You might have to get another one. But before I did that, I would try heating it up ,and streching it. If you get it to move, you may have to work fast to rivet it. This material does not seem user friendly.I ended up getting 2 dashes because the first one I got was great, but had a tab broken off on the drivers side because the air bag was deployed and broke it. By the time I got the the second one out of a bone yard, it was a piece of cake.No lifting, no air bag deployment etc.I had my rivets ready to go and got it secure before it thought about liting.I hope this helps. Mike

    Hi I'm Harold.
    How many Buick dashes did you destroy at the junkyard figuring it out.. took me like five. I didn't believe I was going to get it back together. Lol got to love that built china 3.1v6. I just got one bone stock White just over a hundred thousand miles about a month ago.

    • @buickmikee1776
      @buickmikee1776  Год назад

      My first one was good except a plastic piece was broken off underneath. So I had to get a second one . So 2 because of a plastic piece but not because it was warped.

    If you put rivets or screws in the top of the dash, what happens when the cover wont go up as fast in a air bag explosion?

    I love my 2001 lesabre with 262,000 on it but hate that this happened years ago dashpads would crack but these actually shrink I looks at one I considered purchasing but in that in a the entire thing was up from one end to the other the guy said he knows someone who will fix it for fifty bucks he thinks it can be glued down.

    I looked at a 2004 Buick Lasabre today with 60,000 miles on it. However, it had this exact same issue. I told the man I would first need to price this dash cover. Then, about noon today, he called and informed me he had sold the car. So, I was just hoping someone could tell me how much this dash cover cost new? Thanks to anyone who can answer.

    • @buickmikee1776
      @buickmikee1776  3 года назад

      I once looked up costs on the internet. The dash was going for about $ 600 new and installation was about $ 900 at the dealer. Again this was info. off the internet....not an actual quote. Not sure whats avail. today and costs.

  • @Peter-pv8xx

    I have one of these LeSabres and will never buy another Buick again. In addition to the faulty design of the dash, the window regulators will last about 2 years and brake due to a cheap plastic pulley wheel that will snap off requiring the entire regulator to be replaced due to it mangeling the cable.
