I have a 61 Thunderbird and am about to do this same service rather then try to hone out all the intake and exhaust port scale from my stock intake and cylinder heads. How did you manage to put the exhaust manifolds back on? I am thinking to put them on the heads prior to torquing the heads down.
Yea-go with chrome, you already screwed the car with the heads and intake swap. You will be the coolest old dude cruising the high school parking lot.............
@@MarksofDistinction yea, I know. I just had to put something up. I hate when people screw Thunderbirds and Lincolns up trying to make them something they were never intended to be. It's like they can't afford a Camaro so they try and screw up something nice. These Thunderbirds and Lincolns were pinnacle cars of their times and all built in their own special plant.
Look what this IDIOT did to this Thunderbird! Put the ORIGINAL parts back!!! Just clean them up good! I really got sick when this SHMUCK put the chrome valve covers on instead of the ORIGINAL ones!!!!???? These cars are WORKS of ARTS when they were Brand New and still TODAY!
0 to 60 in about 10-11 seconds, I wouldn't knock anyone that does a head and intake swap to make these merge onto the highway better. (I own a 66 vert, it's slow as hell). Plus modern fuel likes the cooler aluminum intake.
I say have the original valve covers chromed, which was an engine dress-up option especially for the Sport Roadster.

@@bmt336 If that's a true Sports Roadster as they claim it's worth more than many Camaros
