Before I forced the cap off I took no chances as I had ordered a replacement. LOL I did not need to use it. Thanks for the kind words and thanks for watching my channel
Thanks Bill for the kind words; Surprisingly I have had a lot of hits on this very simple video. It is funny how sometimes I put a lot of time an effort into a video and get almost no interest at all and other times such as this video it was a quick easy production and it takes off. Thanks for watching my channel
@@richardspaulding5035 you’ve got a channel? I’ll have to give it a shot. I just called my small engine shop and told then that I had a leak and I was going to try the bead seal approach. They said that when this happens they recommend inserting a inner tube but as he said the small diameter tubes are tough. Mine is 4.-/3.5/4. Take care!
@@billsampson5719 Let me know how you make out. The reason sometimes the seal does not hold is due to the very low tire pressure. Some of those tractor tires only call for 10 psi. If the seal does not hold you will need a tube. Thanks for watching.
I done it before on my lawn tractor and repaired a trash picked wheelbarrow which its tire came off the wheel. the tire size is 15x6-6 its common on these consumer residential lawn tractors and some utility dump carts. the wheels on these Simplicity tractors they put the valve stem on the inside its kinda crazy design on their part as this will also apply when you have to mount a new tire on the rim
Thank you Lawrence for reminding me about that; That’s what we use to do in the 1970s and early 80s with the old bias ply tires. It did a nice job of expanding the bead in those days. However, the radial tires of today will just kink when you try to do that. I think that may well work on these tractor tires, the next time I work on one I will try it. Thanks for watching my channel
You’re a very wise man! Thank you for the DIY video
My wife does not think so, thanks for watching and the kind words.
Good video, appreciate your efforts to share knowledge
Thanks.
Definitely going to give that a shot been fighting that cap for a while appreciate your video

Awesome video. A minimalist approach interns of equipment. I like the history lesson too about the grease. Thanks!

Just the info I need to tackle the same problem. Thank you, sir.
glad I was able to help. if you need to I have another video on how to install an inner tube. thanks for watching
Very well demonstrated. Would have liked to see the follow up to know if the seal held.
Before the repair I had to add air every time I used it. After about six weeks it went down from 14 PSI TO 10 PSI. Thanks for watching my channel
Well made video and very informative! Thanks!
Thanks for the kind words Woody; Glad the video was helpful, Thanks for watching.

Very helpful vidio 😊
I am very sorry I have taken so long to reply. Glad you found the video and found it helpful.
Great video
Thanks mark; I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for watching my channel.
Use sidecutters
Put a cargo belt around the center of the tire and cinch it up. That’ll seal the bead

My pin snapped into 2 peices. It was a real pain.
Sorry you had difficulty with the cotter pin. Sometimes they can be very stubborn. I hope the video was otherwise helpful, Thanks for watching.
You can not blow up the tire with 100 psi. Just let the air back out
Thanks for that bit of info Mark. I am still not going to chance it .
Just dip it a sink full of water .
LOL. I don't' know if you are married Mark? but my wife would not let me any where near her sink or kitchen with that tire.

Thanks for watching.
That tire is a lot stronger than that air hose
Thanks
