I met my now bestfriend at bar because her "friends" at the time left her stranded. She was highly intoxicated and I noticed two men staring at her and asking her if shr needed a ride home. I swooped in like an eagle and pretended like she was with my friends and I. Best decision ive made. Who knows what couldve happened to her that night. RIP to this sweet soul in the video. In a sad way, but very likeky, her murder saved someone else life or lives. He's a sick predator who was on a murderous rampage and we may never know but this was not his 1st murder. I've been in a situation like this before. My friend and me went to the club got sloshed, I was ready to go... but she wasn't. She admitted to me she was looking for a nightcap... if you catch my drift. I refused to leave her. I told her "heifer we came together we're leaving together and if you want you can have him follow to your spot and pick you up from there but you're going to arrive safely and on camera exiting this car." Now the few friends I have don't give this a second thought. We dance, drink and go to the bathroom TOGETHER. Too much happening in this world to not have a someone watching your back.

I feel that if the police had done a better job keeping track of him, Imette St. Guillen would still be alive. The unfortunate reality is that the death penalty has killed an incredible amount of innocents, as well as failed to curb violent crimes too.
If you executed every inmate on death row, it wouldn't even make a dent in the overpopulation problem.
The solution is better policing and more accountable tracking of convicted felons. The current practices in place are a joke.

The man who murdered her is an obvious waste of space but I dont think the family has the right to sue the state or PD over whether or not the murderer was being monitored. This case had a big affect on NYC nightlife. They changed the licensing requirements and background checks for bouncers and also started to crack down on clubs throughout the city. 2005 and early 2006 were crazy in NYC nightlife, but starting around mid to late 2006 things started changing. Virtually every club on 27th Street between 10th and 11th avenue got shut down.

Something similar happen to me and a friend. Last year in college and celebrating our graduation in a few weeks. I had a car and knew not to drink much since I was driving. I’m 46 years old now and still not a drinker. But anyway I had a friend at the club who was acting just like the girl in this video and that’s why her friends left her. I always knew not to go out as this is not the first time she’s being drunk and not listen to anyone. She would literally start arguments and fight because she never wanted to leave. I seen her come in with some friends so I had my boyfriend to walk with me to my car and call the dorm room of a mutual friend. This is was in 1997 when cell phones was the plug up battery king you keep in your car. They left her because of her drinking and she wasn’t ready to go. I went back inside and said it’s time to go and I will take you to your dorm room as I had an apartment then. She didn’t want to go and I wasn’t about to argue with a person drunk at 3am. I went to the bar and ask the bartender can I use their phone and call the police. Called 911 and two officers came and told her if she didn’t get in the car with me so I can take her home they were going to take her to jail. Still drunk but they were able to get her in my car and trail us to the dorm. They were very nice and even helped me get her out the car and take her to her dorm. This was over 25 years ago, but 14 years ago one of our college friends told me she was driving drunk and had an accident and died. She was on her way of becoming a top attorney working in DC but her demons got the best of her. RIP Karen

This tragedy hit close to home because as I have previously mentioned Imette was part of my graduating class of 2006. I had a friend whose mother trusted me and she would allow my friend to go places with me because she knew I would go where I said I was going. The problem was my friend drank and I never did and never have. Never smoked or done drugs just wasn't my thing. I have always been into music. Anyway, Once my friend was drunk she wouldn't want to leave when I was leaving. This is why, I would tell my friend before we got to where ever it was we were going you leave when I leave. When she was drunk, I would make a scene and yell and scream at her if that is what it took to get her to leave. I would tell her you came with me and you're leaving with me. You're not staying here with strangers. I use to tell her you can either leave quietly with me or I can have your mother come and get you. It's up to you. She would get mad at me and I was ok with that as I knew she didn't mean it. She became a different person when she got drunk which is why I felt more of a responsibility to get her back home safely. She would also try to use me to tell her mother that she was going to my house but go somewhere else instead. I loved my friend and I loved and respected her mother and I would tell her you do what you want but know this, if your mother calls me to confirm whether or not you are here. I won't lie to her. I would tell her do you really want to do that to your mom? I would tell her God forbid something happens to you and your mother gets a call telling her you're dead how do you think she's going to feel, when she thought you were safe at my house? I would tell her don't use me to lie to your mother. We'd argue but I am glad to say, I always managed to get her back home safely. I wouldn't be able to get over losing someone because I left them behind especially if they got there with me. If they had a few drinks I would feel responsible for them. That's just me. I have this thing called a conscience. If I can help I will do it. Rather be safe than sorry.

Like you I’ve always felt that I would never be able to forgive myself if something happened to one of my dear friends. Sadly, in this day and time listening to these horrific stories there are so many people that end up leaving a friend only to have them end up like this poor girl did. I have lost friends over the years due to illness and some to violence but not while they were with me. It has been hard to get over their losses. I couldn't imagine losing one because I left them behind. Some might say they are not my responsibility as they are adults etc...but for me morally speaking, I couldn't forgive myself if something happened to anyone not just friends that I could have helped. I was an EMT for a brief time and I remember one of the instructors telling us, there may come a time where you are traveling and you are under no obligation to help as you are off duty and not legally bound to help. The question then becomes could you live with yourself morally? My answer has always been the same No, I could not so that makes me need to help anyone I can, when I am in a position to help whether or not I know that person. I don't base my need to help on whether or not they're loved ones. I base it on the obvious they are human beings that have families and loved ones that love them. If I ever needed help I hope to God someone will help me.

The connection to The Falls and Dorian's bars and friends of 'preppy killer' Robert Chambers, who employed Littlejohn, were speculated on very much at the time. It was said that this time, the killers chose an unknown victim vs the well known, wealthy socialite victim of Robert Chambers. Very sinister if it actually went down like that.

He's the type of no good, no gooder that will go to prison and thrive by victimizing other inmates. These garbage pail kids needs to be locked up 23 1/2 hrs a day,no books, TV's, radios and no contact with no one else , maybe a phone call 1 hr per month! Let them think about what they have done to their victims.
