Can’t see this being a winner in that league. They’ll probably all sell as there are lots of people for which £295k is pocket change, but I’m not sure what message that sends out!

Nothing that’s been revealed surprised me really, the mega minted lot with an RS Collection into the millions will clamber for them as they, unlike the MST etc, are genuine “RS” models and will want to be the one in their branch of the RSOC to have one 😅
@grantmail4112 Unrealistic?, The price of parts are a lot more than when the cars were new, as is labour charges, for example a Brand new a 1974 Ford Cortina cost £1,575, but just buying the panels to restore one now will cost over £8,000, I expected the Escort to be around £100,000 when I heard it was officially licenced from Ford, but it far exceeded that.
Astonished and disgusted. I actually thought, naively, that this might have been a meaningful rekindling of enjoyable and affordable old school simplicity - in a format that would appeal to a broad and diverse customer base…. But it turns out to just be an irrelevant money spinner for the very few people who have an empty space in their collection. And as has been said, not even as good as an MST!
If you can be bothered. When you get the Boreham one, let me know in a personal message or reply to this one, which one you think is better. If I was already super rich, I would buy both too. I would also get a MK2 and RS 2000 as well if I was super rich. Did you get the Millington motor in the MST?

I was seriously considering buying one of these, one it would doubtfully loose money and two I could never afford a original rebuilt one back in the day, I think I might spend less and buy a original rebuilt model as 300k is too much for me for a money maker.

Unsurprisingly is a total PR exercise as far as ford is concerned. They've got Boreham motorsports to make it not only because they don't want to commit the factory production space for such a limited run and therefore short term project, but considering the motorsport history of the original site that built cars at Boreham, having it built there adds a bit of "panache" in the eyes of ford as this is a strong selling point justifying (in their warped money grabbing minds at least) the sky high cost. They've obviously seen the prices that classic fords are selling for, so the executives at USA HQ are rubbing their hands in glee at how they can con customers. Despite it's got such an eye watering price, are ford just buttering customers up with the LOWER priced car before they release the million pound plus price for the "new" RS200?.
