Amazing and interesting articles again. Great skill. I’m going to cut the centre out of my cover. Just got to work out how to dome the dust cover without messing it up.
Phenominal !!!, All your work paid back. What's the power loss though ???. Here's a curve ball; What's the power gain with no fan and open / ducted cooling and perhaps electric fan at idle -low speeds. almost 48 years ago; I had a Sachs 50 motor ; I removed the fan ; installed engine in mini bike. Has to be some loss. BTW chasing 100mph; utilise wind flow huh.
only have what you see sorry buddy , this channel only costs me money dont get a penny back from you tube ......... but for sure the deep indian would be better than most .
Great videos, thanks! Just a quick question: what about the counter-Venturi cone, stamped in the centre of the flywheel cover grill? Have you ever checked whether it increases the air flow or not? Cheers
the grill reduces air flow , the stamped center dosnt seem to do much only an obstuction mate . cut out the center and dome the dust cover seems to give good results and costs nothing .....
Hi, are you using a rev counter to make sure the engine is ticking over at the same revs on each test? Difference in fan weight will make a difference.
sip rev counter mate ..... but its impossible to maintain exact revs , thinking of building a proper test bed with electric motor , its the only way to be accurate . thats why im using meters per second . testing at 2500 rpm .... the only thing with electric is it makes boring vids people like smoke and noise its entertainment at the end of the day ......
@@TheSteelweasel I get what ya doing and think it’s great Steve but sometimes the engines don’t sound like there running at the same speed and the anemometer looks like it’s at different distances from the Venturi which all have a bearing on its fan speed. We would all love to know the optimum cooling setup and Get VFM. I think you may be doing the legwork and R&D for BGM and others to make a quick buck. The centre piece engineering was a revelation and I think there’s lots more to come utilising the aerodynamics of the fan shroud and blade configuration.
@@TheSteelweasel and so they should, it’s laughable the claims made on products but with no testing or information to back up anything, it seems that the more bling applied the easier it is for people to believe it’ll work regardless of any testing. Emperors new clothes in allot of cases.

impressive
before anyone posts yes the casa did 6.7 ms ill change it on board 😜
Good work chap:).
Well deserved beer me thinks 😉
Great work m8... any chance yet of testing a Indian deeper finned flywheel with domed centre & your cover ?

@@TheSteelweasel I understand steve... just thought one of your mates may of had a deep Indian flywheel for you too try mate ?
Keep the vids coming 👍
@@nbodge3693 nope ive blagged everything possible . cheers and happy new year
well done - fact over fiction
Cheers bro . Not exact but best I can do without a lab ha ha
Nice bro

@@andrewroyle9825 yep it's only a ball park reference. Not lab conditions but it's better than nothing. Thanks
I'm rattling a few cages let's see if companies do something to prove there designs

Nice work Steve. As an after thought, would the hole in the cover change the ms values if the hole was larger vrs smaller?
the hole needs to match the fan is the most efficient mate .
Can I get hold of one of yours fiber glass covers?
yes my email is in my channel info
Very nice bro
you are very nice 💕
can i use the vape fan on my bgm stator ? great vids keep em coming .
No sorry thats not possible......
Great engineering steve , you da man , best airfow by far m8 beating the profesionals at their own game , weasel speed rules ok , 👍✊🛵
HAPPY NEW YEAR DAVE ...... thanks mate more to come when i get the thermal camera ha ha
@@TheSteelweasel happy new year steve to you and the family 👍
Will you be making the machined centers to sell has I will be having a vape fitted in the near future ps top work and informative
nope dont think so it takes too much time sorry
Shame but fully understand
Are these flywheel cowls available to buy Steve ?
Which one ? The deep one for long fin flywheels
@@TheSteelweasel The standard depth fin version Steve :-)

If there was a market for 100+ units of the cover sets would you consider subbing the work to a company who moulds plastics?. Just a thought.
Plastic is for vespa mate 😂🤣just kidding I dont have that much demand but you never know ?
