      @@exsoulagent high crown pistons get hotter in the center as they disrupt flame flow . flat piston spreads flame and the heat / energy so more power bro .

      TheSteelweasel interesting, I’ve 2 ts1 kits, one Broady tuned using Bgm piston n head, originally had the casa piston n head for this tuned barrel but couldn’t be used as ring peg location meant fouling the inlet boost port.Picked up a standard Ts1 kit which I’ll be using the casa stuff in that one so in theory should run cooler than the Bgm kit ?

      @@exsoulagent yes casa do the black line head and piston for this, it should be cooler and a bit more power . ive got a spare ts1 barrel that im going to tune , it needs a liner so im going to weld the top of the barrel and build up some material then remachine to get 5mm more hight on cylinder before i put the liner , this way i can have a spigot fit head and allow me to fit long stroke crank without a packing plate .

    Could also have been an air leak. Looks excactly the same as my mates TS1 that had loose head head nut. He had ridden on the jetting he had for 3 years but it lasted 6km after it started pinking.

      Well this one was running 31deg on his ignition? It's been fine since I sorted it . But yes there's lots of things that can give detonation air leak and exhaust leak are common .

      @@kickbackgarage that was his second piston in his BGM before he came to me . If you don't know about engines it's easy to make mistakes.
