My husband Ron and I really enjoyed your reactions to Episode 3. As a senior (in our late 60's) married (8 yrs) gay couple (33 yrs), we'd like say " Yay and thank you " to the writers and HBO for the representation of an older gay couple in this beautiful and poignant episode.🥲 And thanks for all the positive comments from allies. 😘🏳🌈
My daughter is dying from metastatic cancer and has chosen euthanasia when the pain becomes unbearable. I was losing my mind over her decision, especially since she will be leaving behind my 1 1/2 year old grandson. Bill and Frank showed me my love for my daughter means I have to allow her to leave this world on HER terms. Congratulations on your 8 years. Much love from Toronto. 🩶❤🩶❤🩶❤
Straight male, married, child etc. Thought it was the best love story in a TV episode in more or less forever; a masterpiece. Beautiful in the best sense of the word. Astonishing work all round.
Its so hard to watch this as a gay man of a certain age. its our greatest fear to die alone. to think you'd actually meet another gay person in the apocalypse would be your last chance. This episode speaks to me, and scares the shit out of me. Love your guys' reactions and I was waiting for this one.
@Ajit Adonis Manilal i'm a gay man in my late thirties and am also kind of accepting a life on my own. Everyone is tought that there is "someone for everyone" and that is just not true. I have my issues, and may be too much for anyone to deal with. I'm set in my ways and i do not deal with change very well, which is necessary for a relationship. Compromise is necessary in relationships and i am horrible at it. I am happy with my life and who i am. I know exactly what i like, and if i find someone, great, if not that's ok as well.
"I was never scared until you showed up" I may be a straight man but that is still the most relatable line ever. My emotions never irked me, until I fell in love with the most amazing woman ever and tried to "act" like I wasn't immediately phased
Crazy that Joel and Tess were already together in 2010, so they were Bill and Frank's friends for over 13 years of that 20 year timespan. They were pill smugglers in the present day. They might have gotten into it to help get Frank's medication. At the end of the episode, Joel really has no one left in his life except Tommy, and, unexpectedly, Ellie. It's incredible subtext that somehow makes everything EVEN sadder.
@@HooverDyson - Unfortunately, the characters in Brokeback Mountain were never able to live a happy life together. It was a torturous bond, for the both of them, from the beginning to the end. It did a good job of depicting a tragedy, a tragedy that was based on the lovers being gay. This? This was a truly beautiful romance, having nothing to do with the characters being men. That's what makes it a stellar representation of a same sex relationship. Every human deserves to know this type of love and see themselves being depicted in this manner. As a straight cis-gender woman, I was proud to see this type of depiction, and in a sad post-apocalyptic show, nonetheless. “Remember, when you're lost in the darkness.. Look for the light," indeed!

Not “grateful,” or “happy,” but “satisfied.” I’d take more if it was on offer, but I can accept that what I had was enough. I love love love that they took the time to show us humans winning a satisfying life in the middle of all this. That’s what the show is really about: humanity. I think it’s pretty obvious that’s what Joel’s journey is going to be. He was very human with Sarah, he lost that when she died to the point that he was able to toss a dead kid on the pyre without flinching, and now he’s got Ellie to look after and can stop just being a vessel surviving. He can reclaim his humanity. This episode succinctly showed that whole journey in one episode. Love it. It’s def a happy surprise tho. I feel like many of us really wanted a redemption for their story bc it was so fucking sad n the game and I’m happy they did this instead

From the writing, the music, the acting, the cinematography. 👌🏽❤️❤️ I truly appreciated, even though brief, the use of an older gay couple, which we don't really get in tv or media without it being a punchline. Just a genuine love. ❤️🏳️🌈 Had me crying and ish 😤
I've watched 20+ reaction videos so far, and the comments in this one is THE BEST. With that aside, this is one of the best episodes of television - bravo HBO.
Been loving the reactions to the show just as much as I have watching it. Julien, these two, Reel Rejects, Storm Akima, Think Story, and a few others I can't think of off the top of my head have been great to watch along with! 👍🙂
In the video game there is big action level in the game. The dialogue between Bill and Ellie is some of the best and funniest I ever saw, and I desperately wanted to see that... all that being said, I did not expect to see this episode go the way it did. This episode was tragically beautiful. 5 out of 5 stars
I love that this episode subverts expectations. As lgbtq we have been “reading between the lines”, shipping, and fan fictioning queerness to shoehorn representation for DECADES AND DECADES of media. You both do that through the entire commentary up to the kiss. To see characters on screen actually do the thing they NEVER DO in was more then my heart could take. This also wasn’t a “kill your gays” - they died of old age after a full life together on their own terms in the zombie apocalypse. They lived better and more human then anyone on the entire planet for 2 decades. The decision not to show their physical end was as important as any other choice made here. The fact that they used “America’s cartoon man of masculinity” in a dude bro franchise to middle finger the most toxic fans is *chefs kiss* (Served on a golden charger plate and slightly turned for your pleasure)
It was a treat to cry along with you guys. Seriously. Everything has already been said about Bill and Frank, so.. I think it's cool that of all the guns in the house, Ellie takes Frank's gun. Frank only ever fires it to protect his protector, Bill. Ellie only fires it to protect Joel.
When I saw this episode last night, I said to myself..."I just cannot wait to see the Petty Pumpkins response to this one"I knew you guys were going to absolutely one-hundred-percent lose your sh#t! And it was so enjoyable to watch! Thank you guys so much for doing this one!
I loved the game and they hinted about Bill and Frank being in love but we didn’t get to see Frank and bill was an angry man, now I know why. I love this!!
In the game bill and frank is an example of what happens when you push people away. And in the show it shows what happens if you let people in. Good change imo
What a MAGNIFICENT episode! Such a wonderful way to encapsulate “Remember, when you're lost in the darkness.. Look for the light." Even in a post-apocalyptic world, the light is love.
This was the best episode of television I can recall watching, ever. Me just openly weeping throughout. A straight up masterpiece! All the awards are due.
Fun fact: Nick Offerman didn't have the time to read the script, so his wife did, loved it, and told him he couldn't miss it! Nick's wife is Megan Mullally! Better known as Karen from Will & Grace : ) An ally queen! And to those that don't know, Joel's actor Pedro Pascal, is an outspoken advocate for lgbtq+ rights and supported his sister, Lux Pascal in her transitioning, she's been vocal about how much her brother's support has meant to her. : )
This episode was INTENSE and HEART WRENCHING I was so looking forward to your reactions to this.! Love how quickly your turn around is for this and again you have me forgetting about how I am feeling with my health thank you again guys love your channel ♥️🙂♥️
in a world where people die of infection, getting ripped apart, brutal deaths here and there, Bill and Frank was able to live their full lives in a paradise with full freedom and got to go out in their own terms. They found their little paradise in a grim world and got to live the full extent of it. The best ending for anybody with or without a zombie apocalypse. 😭😭😭😭
As a straight man, I didn't know seeing two gay guys working their gaydars about two guys on a show would be such an amazing time haha. Great reaction you guys. Much love. And oh my lord, just saw Murray's chest haha. Doubting my straightness all of a sudden. What a fucking man 😆
this episode might be one of the most tragically beautiful ive seen of any tv series. what a beautiful story to tell that in the aftermath of such atrocities, at the end of the world, the chances of them running into each other, finding each other like this. to see that even in the midst of horror, this pure love can sprout up. and on top of that, that they 17 years together, and both went out in a beautiful and tragic way, but to be able to fall asleep in each others arms, knowing they lived an incredible life together. im gonna start crying again, omg this episode felt like a movie.
i was thinking of you both while watching this. this episode is def my favorite so far, it will be very hard to beat it. such a romantic story. i am so happy they deviated from the game so much for this. makes me wonder how many more things they will change and how much more emotional this show will get. the game already had me sobbing but this episode alone really broke me.
I think the point of this episode was much more than the truck and supplies. The letter he left to Joel, where he writes about what he lived and how it gave him meaning, is very important to Joel's mindset moving foward.
And importantly in a show about how love can go wrong and motivate people to make terrible decisions, this episode provides the contrast of beautiful, enriching, un-selfish love. Joel will take away exactly the wrong lesson from Bill and that's gonna be a problem later.
I've watched probably thirty reactions to this episode (yes this is insane) but I loved you guys's energy so so much. As a queer person I was out here crying from happiness for them before it even got to the crying for sadness parts!!
Just found your reaction video.. you guys are so adorable and the comments you made are hilarious.. hahahaha Yes, it's such a touching episode and a brilliant representation of a normal gay relationship without all the typical stereotypes. Beautiful story and a real emotional roller coaster ride. One of the best TV episode I have ever seen in recent years. The comment about Simon Cowell judging music/singing and fun-gay (instead of fun-gi) are too funny!
I've started my reaction tour for this episode and so far yours is definitely my favourite. You two are so funny and adorable (and thirsty af but I mean who wouldn't with these actors lol). I was so emotional during this episode, fully sobbed and you are the only ones that I've seen that were as invested in this beautiful love story. Love you guys, see you next time 💕
OMG,I'm a week out of a devastating breakup. This episode had me screaming and crying! Why can't I have a long lasting love like Frank and Bill? Awesome episode!
I think it’s beautiful that Bill & Frank were able to live a long, fruitful life together free of any of those infected. They were able to die on their own terms peacefully, together in each others arms while so many others didn’t have a choice and were either infected or shot by someone else
It was completely different in the game but I’m glad it was. At the end of the day, the outcome was the same - Joel and Ellie got the car but from TV show perspective the devs decision to alternate Bill and Frank’s story was a perfect one.
I’m a straight male, but This might be the best love story I’ve seen in anything. I haven’t cried that hard at anything I’ve ever watched. Everyone killed it this episode!
Straight dude here. Sometimes get annoyed when attempts at representation get put above script, acting, plot, etc. But not only was this is arguably the best representation of a gay couple, while I don’t know how how crucial this was to the plot of the show, it was absolutely amazing, and actually reminded me of my relationship with my fiancé. I’m a bit of a Bill and she’s a Frank. This is the first time I’ve seen such elements of my relationship in that of a same-sex couple. And that fukkin wrecked me.
If you two knew, Massachusetts was the first state to legalize same sex marriage back in November 2003 and the apocalypse started in late September, where Bill never got the chance to get married to a man he might love
I got giddy when I saw you two reacted to this series because of THIS EP specifically! ❤️ Apparently Megan Mullaly (Nick Offerman’s wife) read this script and insisted he had to do it.
Also, it was a beautiful episode not just of it’s “living vs. surviving” theme, but arguably the cordyceps taking over and causing a global pandemic brought Frank and Bill together… Bill probably would’ve stayed closeted and they probably wouldn’t have crossed paths… not an “everything happens for a reason” but at least in some universes, fate really is a funny thing…
No this doesn't happen in the game. The game version is still good. But I much prefer what they did with Frank and Bill in this show. The story was beautiful Also your looks at the "I used to hate the world and was happy everyone died". Middle Aged closeted gay man in 2003 rural America. Who only became himself after the outbreak, and found someone to be open about himself with. His words, to a certain degree, are understandable. He had to live a large majority of his life not being who he truly was
😂😂😂 The gasping cracked me up during the piano scene. But believe me, I fully understand. I was totally like, "You better get it, Frank!" LOL. On the flip side though, I'm not one of the game players, but I had heard how Bill was such an epic character in the game. So based on that, this was so far from what I thought we were getting this episode. I was kind of in awe at first from the juxtaposition from the previous two episodes, but I completely got hooked on them. I thought we'd have more time with them so I was really sad when they flashed 10 years forward. I had completely forgotten about how long it had been from the start of the epidemic to now. This episode was a beautiful character piece. ❤️😭
I haven't been able to stop thinking about this episode since it aired, so I've been watching reactions for the first time and found y'all - and I LOVE the vibes here. Subscribed!!
I don't normally cry for any kind of media, but this episode had me SOBBING! Nick Offerman and Murray Bartlett absolutely slayed it. While I haven't seen Murray Bartlett it anything else, I can say with confidence that this is Nick Offerman at his absolute best. This episode alone deserves ALL the Emmys.
"I was never afraid until you showed up" is one of the most romantically powerful lines ever put to film. especially given the context. For probably the first time in his life, Bill had something that he cherished, and the thought of losing it is terrifying.
It would be embarrassing to say how many of these I've watched but I'm a few minutes into this and you guys are already my favorite and I want us to be friends. ❤
I think even more important than getting the truck was the note Bill left for Joel. I won't spoil anything for new viewers, but you're definitely going to remember that note later on, and it's incredibly important to Joel's development and his decision to finally accept the full responsibility of bringing Ellie to the Fireflies
It's been a while since I cried this hard over a television show. I also love that we got an origin story for the radio code (80s means trouble, 70s means...). Ellie was kind of making fun of it in the first episode but it means so much more now.
I cannot get enough of you two!!! I love your guys reactions!! I never even seen one episode of this show but I felt like I needed to watch this so I did!!! I’m glad I did!! You guys crack me up!!! You guys make me so proud to be gay!!! TO THE GAYS!!! Love you guys!!! 😢😢❤❤😊😊

I love how the bigots tried to review bomb this episode but despite making it one of the lowest rated episodes it’s still above an 8/10. The whole show was just masterfully done.
You guys were extremely attuned to the little hints and details of this show, especially the guy on the left. He pretty much called everything correctly in this episode. Even the end when he said he thought Ellie would sneak a little gun. Great intuition.

Been loving the reactions to the show just as much as I have watching it. Julien, these two, Reel Rejects, Storm Akima, Think Story, and a few others I can't think of off the top of my head have been great to watch along with! 👍🙂
"He's so traumatized. It's sexy."
Me going on literally any date.
“There is one person worth saving” 😭😭😭😭
As someone who played the game that is some heavy fucking foreshadowing
I will never forget this episode. Literally had me sobbing. Best adaption to a video game story. The actors deserve awards for their acting wow.
They had a better life than most, happy together, we just need to remember that lol
In the video game there is big action level in the game. The dialogue between Bill and Ellie is some of the best and funniest I ever saw, and I desperately wanted to see that... all that being said, I did not expect to see this episode go the way it did. This episode was tragically beautiful. 5 out of 5 stars

Franks Love language is
Acts of Service ❤❤❤
Beautiful
The fact that they used “America’s cartoon man of masculinity” in a dude bro franchise to middle finger the most toxic fans is *chefs kiss*
(Served on a golden charger plate and slightly turned for your pleasure)
Bill & Frank an epic Love Story we didn't know we needed. Thank you Naughty Dog & HBO.
I've watched at least 30 reviews and you two are, by far, my favourite responders.
Love from Toronto. 🩶❤🩶❤🩶❤
Yeah, he would’ve been heart broken and he’d want to push everybody else away. So that’s how he was in the game.
In the game bill and frank is an example of what happens when you push people away. And in the show it shows what happens if you let people in. Good change imo
The music towards the end are so flipping epic ❤. I cried so hard. Love is Love.❤❤🙂
2:31 “i want you to hit me with a rock real bad” you sounded like queen jennifer coolidge😂❤
This episode absolutely ripped my heart out and left me for dead.
This episode was incredible. A beautiful rainbow 🌈 in the middle of a nightmare.
Yall....when I tell you I cried at this episode I mean I BALLED. loved their relationship!!
i was thinking of you both while watching this. this episode is def my favorite so far, it will be very hard to beat it. such a romantic story. i am so happy they deviated from the game so much for this. makes me wonder how many more things they will change and how much more emotional this show will get. the game already had me sobbing but this episode alone really broke me.
Just found your reaction video.. you guys are so adorable and the comments you made are hilarious.. hahahaha
Yes, it's such a touching episode and a brilliant representation of a normal gay relationship without all the typical stereotypes.
Beautiful story and a real emotional roller coaster ride. One of the best TV episode I have ever seen in recent years.
The comment about Simon Cowell judging music/singing and fun-gay (instead of fun-gi) are too funny!
This episode changed everything, give them all emmies. Amazing. Show stopping. Elder queers thriving.
Love you guys, see you next time 💕
This episode is really sad, yet beautiful but you guys had me laughing the whole time. All the gasps haha so funny. Love it.
You two are so damn fun to watch this with. Just real fun reactions. Subscribed!
Bill and Frank, beautiful. That was so, simple and beautiful. Always plant strawberries.🍓
Going to be sobbing literally FOREVER THANKS HBO
OMG,I'm a week out of a devastating breakup. This episode had me screaming and crying! Why can't I have a long lasting love like Frank and Bill? Awesome episode!
I've seen this episode like 10 times and it still makes me cry every time.
i found you guys through your megan reaction and i’m so glad y’all are watching this too. i cried all over again watching this scene with you
I think it’s beautiful that Bill & Frank were able to live a long, fruitful life together free of any of those infected.
This episode absolutely ripped my heart out. I don’t think I’ve ever cried so hard over a show.
The story was beautiful
Also your looks at the "I used to hate the world and was happy everyone died". Middle Aged closeted gay man in 2003 rural America. Who only became himself after the outbreak, and found someone to be open about himself with. His words, to a certain degree, are understandable. He had to live a large majority of his life not being who he truly was
Joel was wearing Frank's shirt in the end of the episode
A beautiful love story. Thank you for sharing your feelings with us!
Frank and Bill = relationship goals.
I was sobbing. Like funeral type of crying. So emotional ❤😢
FK...never seen a series' episode where nearly every scene gives you a brutal heart punch. 😥
Literally the best love story I've ever seen on screen.
I don't normally cry for any kind of media, but this episode had me SOBBING!
Nick Offerman and Murray Bartlett absolutely slayed it. While I haven't seen Murray Bartlett it anything else, I can say with confidence that this is Nick Offerman at his absolute best.
This episode alone deserves ALL the Emmys.
agreed.
well.. pack your bags honey, the show will only darker from point here...
So me and my wife were kind of mad at each other in the beginning of episode 3 at the end we were just crying holding each other hand
"I was never afraid until you showed up" is one of the most romantically powerful lines ever put to film. especially given the context. For probably the first time in his life, Bill had something that he cherished, and the thought of losing it is terrifying.
Anyone else notice that Bill didn't wake up Frank during the shootout? He didn't want him to get hurt
The best TV episode I have seen in years,I love it.
To ze gays! 🍾🥂
I found myself smiling through your whole reaction! You two are awesome. New Subscriber! 🤩
Me : I want to cry with my fellow LGBTQ+ people over this episode. Opens random video, first sec : Yes that will do. I mean Mama can see ya. Love from your black trans girl from France 🏳🌈🏳⚧
This was easily one of the best love stories I've ever seen.
They went out as well as they could have done. Could you imagine dying like this in the zombie apocalypse? Perfect death
Loved this episode. It was so beautiful and well done. Bill & Frank ♥
I was waiting for y’all to react to this one, such a great fucking episode dude
I cried all over again 💔 Loved this episode even if it stomped on my heart
Ugh just when I thought I recovered I see this and relive the trauma (in a Jamie Lee curtis accent). Seriously this was an amazing episode!
What an episode! I was hoping you’d include your reaction to Bill’s hair flip and you didn’t disappoint! ❤
Now that was hell of a thing, great reaction guys
I've watched so many reaction videos but your reactions are definitely the effin funniest lol
