Quick update: I rewatched other fancams, and it turns out ILLIT actually sang live. It wasn’t the entire time, but you can clearly hear their vocals multiple times, especially during IYKYK. The first performance I watched had the backtrack cranked up so loud you couldn’t hear the girls at all. However, in the re-uploaded video (after the original was privated), their vocals are much more audible.
I thought so, I made a comment about that and got a bit of let's say "backlash" even though I wasn't hating on ILLIT at all. I know lip-syncing and having a back track playing as they perform isn't in their power and I tried reiterating that but it didn't work so I just left it. Maybe I'll delete it? But thanks for the update ❤
Saying I’m happy for LE SSERAFIM not getting negative feedback is the understatement of the century. The reactions were everything, and honestly, I was so genuinely thrilled for them. They’ve been through it with that constant hate train that just refuses to stop, so seeing them finally get their flowers was a joyful moment. Yeah, it hit different and this is coming from someone who doesn't stan LESSERAFIM
Excuse me but they have been over hyped since before their debute. The biggest difference is this time they are backing their hype with songs inside their skills, I am glad for them.
They always used to get flowers for their stage presence tho- The problem is always the vocals since that's the aspect they never improve but yeah sometimes thier stage presence does cover the lack of vocals/bad vocals since thats the only category they do fine & tho they're criticised which is fine the still have a big fandom who defends them from the criticism

As someone who has loved aespa since debut, their recent performances have been kinda disappointing. The main issue is the lack of live vocals. I get that it’s SM’s decision, but if they’re not singing live, the least they could do is put more energy into their dancing and overall performance. Right now, it feels like their performances are only interesting if theres a lot on lighting, special effects, and backup dancers. I wanna see them bring energy to the stage, and if they're not doing live vocals, they should go harder on the performance. Other groups who faced similar hate still gave strong performances, so Aespa should be able to do the same. They have the potential to be amazing, but they need to step it up.
they literally got overworked to the bone compared to other gg there ive have world tour but only 1 comeback n rarely attend award this year so they can have time to prepare more same with new jeans n lssrafim while aespa literally finished they 2023 november comeback n then straight up practice for they year end festival at the same time practice they concert then having a 2024 comeback with 2 TT continue with touring after finish the tour they released whiplash so be grateful they still managed to to perform well without feeling exhausting
They've been mad busy this year alone with their concerts, interviews, and multiple comebacks. I think we can afford to let their voices rest for one performance. They've sung live since your comment and since the YT video. They've also sung live since debut during their less busy schedule cycles. We know they can sing live and don't have anything to prove anymore since the ones criticizing haven't even tried to look at their other content (recent and old) that they've sung live in. i think it's important we remember they're humans and shouldn't run their voice ragged, and this goes for all groups, not just Aespa. Honestly, since they're a vocal based group I'd argue their voices can be overworked especially when companies give someone a super high note that damages their voice or has them do high notes every comeback and damages their voice everytime. SNSD doesn't sing live all the time, nor does GFRIEND, BTS, NCT, or other very popular groups but it's suddenly criticized when it's Aespa? I don't buy it, I think people just want to blame them for something.

I disagree with ahyeon,i think she nailed and gosh she holds the note for less than 2 minutes so I think her vocal cords will survive. I thought she was going to fumble that part but she did well and personally i just think it's the tone of her belting and a finer technique could refine it but if she keeps practicing she will get there and we might be underestimating her.I am proud of the beamon girls and wish them a successful tour .
ILLIT actually sang LIVE and you could hear it very audibly especially in IYKYK, the backtrack was just really loud and the lip synced in some parts.The intro was so cute and fun,It felt different from other groups and it felt very ILLIT. YG has to give Ahy a break. She's got a really good vocal range. They shouldn't let her overdo it. Her technique is good in general but with high notes she's pushing her limits. YG WANTS her to do it and she WANTS to do it as well because she has been doing it as a trainee (mentioned in an interview/ radio show or smthg). Imagine just how much she has strained her voice if she has been doing it for more than 4 years💀 She's young and just a rookie so give her a break.

Honestly, we’ve got to admit, this was probably one of the only events that actually went smoothly. Aside from the lip-syncing by some groups, everything else, (the performances, interactions, and all), felt awesome! We had groups totally impressing us, plus some really cute moments too. The energy was on point, and you could tell everyone was genuinely enjoying themselves. For me, it was definitely one pf the most memorable events in K-pop 2024. ❤
I don't get your criticism on Illit's performance at all. Do you actually watch stages before complaining about them? Because if you had seen Illit's performance, you would know that they clearly sang live. Of course they had a backtrack, literally all the groups have one, but you could clearly hear their live vocals over the backing track. Their vocals were very good and stable as well, so maybe that's where you got confused? I'm honestly tired of all the nitpicking and bullying that Illit is going through. Why are they always the ones singled out for practices that are incredibly common in the industry?
Hybe has a legacy about their girls groups, next to the inmediate fame, came the playback over AR records so people is more reserved of all their girls groups singing live. (And I do not count Katseye there)
@@belaytriksBacktrack vocal is common not only in kpop. But in kpop who singing while dancing, the backtrack is more important. They can lipsyn or not sing when the dance movement is difficult. But live vocal should louder than backtrack vocal. Many kpop fans do not know to differentiate between backtrack and live vocal BY LISTENING. Listening is a skill.

Most Coachella "critics" are bullying and slandering. Even some fancam edited to make look worse. People who there are happy. The sincere critics are the performance strategy. Because of Le sserafim have many hard choreo, they should at least make a break after one song. And they should prioritize the singing and go crazy while not singing. Source Music performance director now understand and made better strategy.

I was a bit disappointed with how yg didn't put any effort into Treasures stage production cause they did with 2ne1 and Baemon but honestly their vocals and sp saved it for me Jaehyuk had some mic issues though but overall it was great

Ahyeon has a high range voice....her vocals are made for high notes and her techniques are also fine. In the past her high notes were little off but now, it's not .

Aespa's stage was a miss. What the hell was that dance break. Their best talents are in singing not dancing and performing so why don't their company try to utilize their vocals. They mostly appeared robotic and the lip syncing didn't help matters. Babymonster's stage was fire but ahyeon's harsh tone threw me off. I always feel weird inside when she starts yelling
I agree, give those women a huge band or orchestra a stand mic and let them snatch everyone attention with that pipes they have. The dancer can do all the heavy dance they want just let them sing. And after "watching" the performances I think the huge problem is the same that IVE has for me, they choreo is made for video and upclose watch so it does not get so well in stage performaces. That and aligment, the girls are never really aligned so even if they were 100% in synch the movement will mot looks so smoth because you are watching like 3 diferent sides of the same movement and they are not actually doing the same but neither so distintivw movements from oune to each other to look as a secuence. About Babymonster, I am not sure if I like that moment because it trows away the harmony of the song to me but I rry not to listen then because many of them are minors and I am trying to be congruent in no listening groups with minors as my sand grain to stop that practice in kpop.

Personally I was impressed with bm’s stage. Though ahyeon went overboard a few times, she’s a teen and living her finally year as a teenager. I loved that intro, and the rap verse was beautiful. I really enjoyed their dance though I wished they performed to the fans and not the camera.
2NE1 was easily my top fave, right alongside G-Dragon. That was pure legendary status-absolutely amazing! Even after all this time, they still have that unbeatable charm, like they never skipped a beat. They may not be as active anymore, but they’ve clearly still got it, and it showed. Total icons.
For aespa, SM only makes them sing live if they get paid big and they probably were not so they did not sing live. Atleast we got a choreography for Pink Hoodie and it was so iconic.
ENHYPEN's stage was rlly good. Like Sunoo giving flowers or whatever that was for the intro was so cute. And xo's carol ver. is better than the original tbh but even the original is good. And don't get me started about the dance break, it was fire. And even bthb was rlly good. And the outfits???!!! It really suited the Christmas vibe.
The way NCT 127 pulled through with only six members with people saying they couldn't do it without Jaehyun and Taeyong who are currently completing their military services is truly impressive. Their stage was so good, props to them!!
Illit was live for iykyk for sure but I couldn’t hear them for Magnetic so I was confused. Their stage presence, dance, and choreo was amazing as usual. Their songs always eat up every remix that’s given to them too.
I disagree with Illit, I LOVED Illit I think the whole pillow performance and Iroha's solo was amazing. And IYKYK was absolutely live vocals, you can hear very clearly Wonhee and Moka, if you don't believe me go and watch it yourself.
(G)I-DLE's performance was absolutely adorable. The whole concept of them starting in a box and then the box opening as their performance kicked off? Genius. It was so cute and matched the Christmas vibes perfectly, like something straight out of a holiday movie. The attention to detail and how well it tied into the theme made it even better. Honestly, one of the standout performances of the night for me-it was creative, fun, and just felt so them.
Personally, I really enjoyed ILLIT's performance. It was cute and fun and really showed off their cutesy concept really well. I love it when groups go all in to the concept. And also idk why you said that they weren't singing live when they clearly did? You can watch the performance vids urself if you don't believe it. They were some shaky parts in it too. Nah, you’re spot on about the AESPA thing. They’ve racked up a ton of prestigious awards at massive shows, been the talk of the town, and are literally the most mentioned K-pop group of 2024. And yet, SM has them lip-syncing at almost every event. Like, why? These events are the perfect chance to flex their skills and shut down any doubters, but nope, just more pre-recorded tracks. It’s so disappointing, and you can’t help but feel that nagging reminder while watching their performances: "this isn’t live singing". It’s like SM is acting like their vocals are some kind of liability or something. What’s the point of hyping them up if you’re not gonna let them actually prove it?

I’m getting annoyed. Idk why Sm can’t let them sing live. They are great performers they’ve shown that time and time again. But sm gives them the worst performances. Their dance breaks or intros are so lackluster and boring it’s a bunch of moving their arms it’s like Sm refuses to let the girls actully dance and get sweaty 😭. Like let the girls dance and live and fucking rock the stage. For sm to have some of the best dancers in that company it’s embarrassing to see aespa performances so underwhelming. I hope Sm wakes up and starts giving them so much more.
SM has been going down the drain for a while now. Honestly, it's such a shame... SM once has been a legendary company and it wasn't just in the name, but today it seems like the only legendary thing left there are only names of the groups and artists who either already left, or are looking forward to leave after the contracts end. It is so sad. I used to be a hardcore SM stan during 2nd and 3rd gen era. I know for a fact Lee Sooman isn't a saint and he did wrong too. But at least SM still was a company that has proven that they are one of the best and are worthy to be in the Big3 while LSM was still there. Now the company is just slowly crumbling to pieces.

The whole Riize thing tainted SM and Riize name, most of sm’s 2nd/3rd gen groups are either gone or inactive. Nct is honestly all over the place with their mismanagement and being overworked. @rosie5816 the saddest part, LSM definitely won't be coming back to SM. He was basically kicked out of his own company and they also made him sign the papers that don't allow him to work in the Korean market. That's why LSM has created a new company in China. And the trainees he has there already show a great potential. LSM definitely is a true professional when it comes to scouting and training artists. Those kids will definitely be the future legends someday.

And even then when they are lip syncing they don’t put on a good performance and what I mean by that is it doesn’t stand out. I'm a casual aespa listener and I'm sad they never sing live while performing, it's dissapointing. Considering they are probably the strongest gg now, and that we all KNOW they can sing well. Yeah, singing live while dancing won't sound as nice and clean as the studio version and will sound shaky and all but that's the whole ass point of a live concert. I think I have way more appreciation for okayish vocals live while doing a difficult choregraphy than a perfect fake audio and just dancing while lip syncing
Ok but I LOVE how Ahyeon didnt "over/under" danced. Its like she's found that perfect pace afterall. Their performance was quite satisfying to watch, definitely one of my fav.
Personally I don't like the high note Ahyeon has in Drip, yes it showcases her vocals, how high she can go but having to perform it often since it's the title track is really going to harm her vocals in the long run...Correct me if I'm wrong and don't get me wrong I love her vocals!
Why do groups keep struggling to sing live, especially at events like this? Like, seriously, it’s not rocket science. This isn’t even the first time we’ve had these audio disasters, remember this happened at the 2024 MMA to spme groups? At this point, you’d think they’d have figured it out. Is it the tech? The training? Or just a case of nobody cares enough to fix it? It’s so frustrating because these are massive events with huge budgets. How do they keep fumbling the basics? Feels like a slap in the face to the artists and the fans who actually care about live performances.

I know they’re working their butts off, but the fact that the same audio issues keep happening at big events like this isn’t just on them. If anything, it's about the people who run the show, production teams, companies, whoever’s in charge of making sure everything goes smoothly. You can’t just throw artists out there with zero prep and expect perfection. They can’t control bad sound equipment or faulty tech. So yeah, my "rocket science" point still stands so get your act together, whether it’s the tech or the people behind it. Also, where did I blame the artists exactly? I never said they were the issue. I’m talking about the audio mess-ups that keep happening at events like this. It’s the production, the tech, the people running the show who need to get it together. If you're gonna argue, at least stick to what I actually said.
My personal favourites were Babymonster (they ate that backtrack up although I do kinda wish that Ahyeon didn’t shout her rap, no hate though, she’s my bias and I loved her note change and high note), IVE (again, lovely live vocals and each member had their own spotlight), le Sserafim (their performance seemed the most ‘end of year stage’ , they played to their strengths with dance and charisma and sung live a bit), ITZY (I’m glad that they sung live this time and showed off their vocals. I’m also so glad that they performed Imaginary Friend instead of Gold (even though I don’t dislike Gold), as both Midzys and the general public really resonated with imaginary friend more) and Yujin and Karina’s performance (mothers slaying with live vocals and their sexy aura). I was also surprised by Illit, who did sing live I think and the pillow choreo was cute.. Not to be negative, but as a naya, I was disappointed with izna, but it’s not their fault. Don’t get me wrong, their performance wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t a year end performance. It was lipsynced, there was no change in choreo, no dance break. It just felt like a music show performance with some added jingle. Even Aespa, you can clearly see how fed up they are of lip-sync yet SM is holding them back. I honestly feel bad for MYs that spent so much time, effort and money to see yet another lipsynced performance. Also, whilst Supernova is an iconic song as it is, I feel like it could have done with a bit of spicing up for this stage.

I’ll admit that her high note lacks a bit of technique, but she didn’t scream there imo, she just needs time to do even better. And I know that she will, as she’s already made improvements in other areas (according to vocal coaches that I’ve watched). So us Monstiez (and K-pop fans in general) need to have a balance between not purely hating on idols but also not purely praising them and saying that they’re the best singers or that they’re perfect. Because, with either approach, we’re setting them up to fail.

@@rikakasumi2002 I hope that you know that I’m not hating, as I said before, Ahyeon’s high note is nowhere near a scream, however, it can’t be denied that some notes lack her polished technique which other parts of her range have (which is normal, she’s young and she’s human most of all). However, I’m not a vocal coach and I don’t expect every single note to be supported, I just enjoy the music but at the same time, I’m not going to blindly say that Ahyeon is a perfect vocalist with nowhere to improve. Also, Ahyeon’s powerful voice is actually something that I love about her but I merely said my opinion about one particular part (the rap) and I meant no hate by it. At the end of the day, everyone has their own preferences, and that’s completely okay 😊

GD was literally the same as at Mama tho, I don't get this dumb opinion. He tried an artistic performance at Power and the camera work was kinda poor, the present people there went crazy at it tho. Then at Crooked the sound was bad (even his staff said it) and he started to even yell the lyrics, again, the people there loved it. His stage presence was literally the same, the difference it's just the quality.

Quick update: I rewatched other fancams, and it turns out ILLIT actually sang live. It wasn’t the entire time, but you can clearly hear their vocals multiple times, especially during IYKYK. The first performance I watched had the backtrack cranked up so loud you couldn’t hear the girls at all. However, in the re-uploaded video (after the original was privated), their vocals are much more audible.

As someone who has loved aespa since debut, their recent performances have been kinda disappointing. The main issue is the lack of live vocals. I get that it’s SM’s decision, but if they’re not singing live, the least they could do is put more energy into their dancing and overall performance. Right now, it feels like their performances are only interesting if theres a lot on lighting, special effects, and backup dancers. I wanna see them bring energy to the stage, and if they're not doing live vocals, they should go harder on the performance. Other groups who faced similar hate still gave strong performances, so Aespa should be able to do the same. They have the potential to be amazing, but they need to step it up.

They've been mad busy this year alone with their concerts, interviews, and multiple comebacks. I think we can afford to let their voices rest for one performance. They've sung live since your comment and since the YT video. They've also sung live since debut during their less busy schedule cycles. We know they can sing live and don't have anything to prove anymore since the ones criticizing haven't even tried to look at their other content (recent and old) that they've sung live in. i think it's important we remember they're humans and shouldn't run their voice ragged, and this goes for all groups, not just Aespa.
Honestly, since they're a vocal based group I'd argue their voices can be overworked especially when companies give someone a super high note that damages their voice or has them do high notes every comeback and damages their voice everytime. SNSD doesn't sing live all the time, nor does GFRIEND, BTS, NCT, or other very popular groups but it's suddenly criticized when it's Aespa? I disagree with ahyeon,i think she nailed and gosh she holds the note for less than 2 minutes so I think her vocal cords will survive. I thought she was going to fumble that part but she did well and personally i just think it's the tone of her belting and a finer technique could refine it but if she keeps practicing she will get there and we might be underestimating her.I am proud of the beamon girls and wish them a successful tour .

ILLIT actually sang LIVE and you could hear it very audibly especially in IYKYK, the backtrack was just really loud and the lip synced in some parts.The intro was so cute and fun,It felt different from other groups and it felt very ILLIT. YG has to give Ahy a break. She's got a really good vocal range. They shouldn't let her overdo it. Her technique is good in general but with high notes she's pushing her limits. YG WANTS her to do it and she WANTS to do it as well because she has been doing it as a trainee (mentioned in an interview/ radio show or smthg).

Honestly, we’ve got to admit, this was probably one of the only events that actually went smoothly. Aside from the lip-syncing by some groups, everything else, (the performances, interactions, and all), felt awesome! We had groups totally impressing us, plus some really cute moments too. The energy was on point, and you could tell everyone was genuinely enjoying themselves. For me, it was definitely one pf the most memorable events in K-pop 2024. ❤

Do you actually watch stages before complaining about them? Because if you had seen Illit's performance, you would know that they clearly sang live.
Of course they had a backtrack, literally all the groups have one, but you could clearly hear their live vocals over the backing track. Their vocals were very good and stable as well, so maybe that's where you got confused?

Hybe has a legacy about their girls groups, next to the inmediate fame, came the playback over AR records so people is more reserved of all their girls groups singing live. (And I do not count Katseye there)

But live vocal should louder than backtrack vocal. Many kpop fans do not know to differentiate between backtrack and live vocal BY LISTENING. Listening is a skill.

Aespa's stage was a miss. What the hell was that dance break. Their best talents are in singing not dancing and performing so why don't their company try to utilize their vocals. They mostly appeared robotic and the lip syncing didn't help matters. Babymonster's stage was fire but ahyeon's harsh tone threw me off. I always feel weird inside when she starts yelling
I agree, give those women a huge band or orchestra a stand mic and let them snatch everyone attention with that pipes they have. The dancer can do all the heavy dance they want just let them sing.
And after "watching" the performances I think the huge problem is the same that IVE has for me, they choreo is made for video and upclose watch so it does not get so well in stage performaces. That and aligment, the girls are never really aligned so even if they were 100% in synch the movement will mot looks so smoth because you are watching like 3 diferent sides of the same movement and they are not actually doing the same but neither so distintivw movements from oune to each other to look as a secuence.
About Babymonster, I am not sure if I like that moment because it trows away the harmony of the song to me but I rry not to listen then because many of them are minors and I am trying to be congruent in no listening groups with minors as my sand grain to stop that practice in kpop.

Personally I was impressed with bm’s stage. Though ahyeon went overboard a few times, she’s a teen and living her finally year as a teenager. I loved that intro, and the rap verse was beautiful. I really enjoyed their dance though I wished they performed to the fans and not the camera.

Illit was live for iykyk for sure but I couldn’t hear them for Magnetic so I was confused. Their stage presence, dance, and choreo was amazing as usual. Their songs always eat up every remix that’s given to them too.
I disagree with Illit, I LOVED Illit I think the whole pillow performance and Iroha's solo was amazing. And IYKYK was absolutely live vocals, you can hear very clearly Wonhee and Moka, if you don't believe me go and watch it yourself.

Nah, you’re spot on about the AESPA thing. They’ve racked up a ton of prestigious awards at massive shows, been the talk of the town, and are literally the most mentioned K-pop group of 2024. And yet, SM has them lip-syncing at almost every event. Like, why? These events are the perfect chance to flex their skills and shut down any doubters, but nope, just more pre-recorded tracks. It’s so disappointing, and you can’t help but feel that nagging reminder while watching their performances: "this isn’t live singing". It’s like SM is acting like their vocals are some kind of liability or something. What’s the point of hyping them up if you’re not gonna let them actually prove it?
Then people brag about SM vocals when most of their idols lipsync.

I’m getting annoyed. Idk why Sm can’t let them sing live. They are great performers they’ve shown that time and time again. But sm gives them the worst performances. Their dance breaks or intros are so lackluster and boring it’s a bunch of moving their arms it’s like Sm refuses to let the girls actully dance and get sweaty 😭. Like let the girls dance and live and fucking rock the stage. For sm to have some of the best dancers in that company it’s embarrassing to see aespa performances so underwhelming. I hope Sm wakes up and starts giving them so much more.
SM has been going down the drain for a while now. Honestly, it's such a shame... SM once has been a legendary company and it wasn't just in the name, but today it seems like the only legendary thing left there are only names of the groups and artists who either already left, or are looking forward to leave after the contracts end. It is so sad. I used to be a hardcore SM stan during 2nd and 3rd gen era.
I know for a fact Lee Sooman isn't a saint and he did wrong too. But at least SM still was a company that has proven that they are one of the best and are worthy to be in the Big3 while LSM was still there. Now the company is just slowly crumbling to pieces.

The whole Riize thing tainted SM and Riize name, most of sm’s 2nd/3rd gen groups are either gone or inactive. Nct is honestly all over the place with their mismanagement and being overworked. Ref velvet has been thrown under the bus. And exo is basically non existent. Sm seems content in fucking up their own brand. I fear we need LSM back
@rosie5816 the saddest part, LSM definitely won't be coming back to SM. He was basically kicked out of his own company and they also made him sign the papers that don't allow him to work in the Korean market. That's why LSM has created a new company in China. And the trainees he has there already show a great potential. LSM definitely is a true professional when it comes to scouting and training artists. Those kids will definitely be the future legends someday.

@ they don’t consistently peformer live is the issue. During big time award shows they lip sync. And even then when they are lip syncing they don’t put on a good performance and what I mean by that is it doesn’t stand out. Sm gives aespa the most basic performances and it’s annoying because we know they can do amazing performances it’s just Sm is so incompetent when it comes to them. Aespa improved sm stage presence and dancing wise and have the ability to make a show stopping performance if their company lets them

I'm a casual aespa listener and I'm sad they never sing live while performing, it's dissapointing.
Considering they are probably the strongest gg now, and that we all KNOW they can sing well. Yeah, singing live while dancing won't sound as nice and clean as the studio version and will sound shaky and all but that's the whole ass point of a live concert. I think I have way more appreciation for okayish vocals live while doing a difficult choregraphy than a perfect fake audio and just dancing while lip syncing

Why do groups keep struggling to sing live, especially at events like this? Like, seriously, it’s not rocket science. This isn’t even the first time we’ve had these audio disasters, remember this happened at the 2024 MMA to spme groups? At this point, you’d think they’d have figured it out. Is it the tech? The training? Or just a case of nobody cares enough to fix it? It’s so frustrating because these are massive events with huge budgets. How do they keep fumbling the basics? Feels like a slap in the face to the artists and the fans who actually care about live performances.

treasure's stage was so good even with the lack of stage effects + backup dancers - they do know how to hype a crowd
My personal favourites were Babymonster (they ate that backtrack up although I do kinda wish that Ahyeon didn’t shout her rap, no hate though, she’s my bias and I loved her note change and high note), IVE (again, lovely live vocals and each member had their own spotlight), le Sserafim (their performance seemed the most ‘end of year stage’ , they played to their strengths with dance and charisma and sung live a bit), ITZY (I’m glad that they sung live this time and showed off their vocals. I’m also so glad that they performed Imaginary Friend instead of Gold (even though I don’t dislike Gold), as both Midzys and the general public really resonated with imaginary friend more) and Yujin and Karina’s performance (mothers slaying with live vocals and their sexy aura).
I was also surprised by Illit, who did sing live I think and the pillow choreo was cute..
Not to be negative, but as a naya, I was disappointed with izna, but it’s not their fault. Don’t get me wrong, their performance wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t a year end performance. It was lipsynced, there was no change in choreo, no dance break. It just felt like a music show performance with some added jingle.
Even Aespa, you can clearly see how fed up they are of lip-sync yet SM is holding them back. I honestly feel bad for MYs that spent so much time, effort and money to see yet another lipsynced performance. Also, whilst Supernova is an iconic song as it is, I feel like it could have done with a bit of spicing up for this stage.

@@cherry_ttokii I agree that she shouted during her rap but she was amazing during the rest of her parts (and that made up for it for me at least). I’ll admit that her high note lacks a bit of technique, but she didn’t scream there imo, she just needs time to do even better. And I know that she will, as she’s already made improvements in other areas (according to vocal coaches that I’ve watched). So us Monstiez (and K-pop fans in general) need to have a balance between not purely hating on idols but also not purely praising them and saying that they’re the best singers or that they’re perfect. Because, with either approach, we’re setting them up to fail.

@@rikakasumi2002 I hope that you know that I’m not hating, as I said before, Ahyeon’s high note is nowhere near a scream, however, it can’t be denied that some notes lack her polished technique which other parts of her range have (which is normal, she’s young and she’s human most of all). However, I’m not a vocal coach and I don’t expect every single note to be supported, I just enjoy the music but at the same time, I’m not going to blindly say that Ahyeon is a perfect vocalist with nowhere to improve. Also, Ahyeon’s powerful voice is actually something that I love about her but I merely said my opinion about one particular part (the rap) and I meant no hate by it. At the end of the day, everyone has their own preferences, and that’s completely okay 😊

But in general, I love her powerful voice and rap, her confidence, her vibe. Also, I would much rather have these ‘problems’ (which aren’t problems) of her being too loud/energetic at times rather than excessive lip sync and her performing robotically

GD was literally the same as at Mama tho, I don't get this dumb opinion. He tried an artistic performance at Power and the camera work was kinda poor, the present people there went crazy at it tho. Then at Crooked the sound was bad (even his staff said it) and he started to even yell the lyrics, again, the people there loved it. His stage presence was literally the same, the difference it's just the quality.
Pure respect for the objective view about the event. Roasting the Production and Lipsync artists is actual Justice. Major events should be handled full commitment and funded properly.
