I knew it was munchausen by proxy syndrome when she said the "Tell mummy you love her." bit. You literally do not have to make any child under 12 tell you they love you because they say it ALL the time from 0-12. Age 13 though...🙄 a whole different category! It is so sad that people can still fall under the radar with this mental disorder, especially if they know what to say as she does. She was already mentally ill. Just going by the plot I will take a stab at it: Older married couple, she was depressed...most likely initially resulting from multiple miscarriages. Finally she has a successful pregnancy. After delivery, she suffered pp depression (by husbands comment). They eventually tried for more but nope. So, the one child she had she smothered. Then made her constantly "ill" to be needed by her daughter and so she can have sympathy attention from others The husband finally figured out what she was doing causing a rift in their marriage and could not get any help in a post 9/11 world given his nationality. Great acting in all parts of this short!
Munchhausen by proxy. It's a disorder that somehow is named after the fictional character Baron Munchhausen known for telling tall tales. That is true- But in this stories scenario, him kidnaping the child is unacceptable. In my opinion, this father is just as bad (since he kidnapped her). Instead, he should've found a way to provide physical evidence of the Childs mistreatment. The mother is a gaslighter, "How much do you love your mummy?" Is a form of gaslighting. This story only shows parts, and the father may be just as bad. When the mother says something like "Oh now you want to get involved?" It could be another form of gaslighting or manipulation (since they were in front of the girl). But then again- We as the audience don't know the *entire* story/situation- So she could've been genuine when she spoke within that moment. But we don't know though. Also I don't disagree with you one bit- I myself should've been given to my father at a young age and not years later. I would've been at the very least 5x better off. My dad isn't perfect but at the time he was an alcoholic and my mother wasn't- So there was some issues. And my fathers parents (The grandparents I live with) aren't that great [They screwed up with my dad and have screwed up with me a bit mentally). There's many things that could possibly prevent a child form going to one parent and not the other, regardless of being birthed from that parent or not.

My question is, why was Mike watching her house through binoculars, in the first place? The obvious line was when he said he wished they'd met under other circumstances but that's not quite enough. You can crush on someone without stalking or monitoring them. The actors all did a phenomenal job. I considered Munchausen's Syndrome By Proxy but it was still possible when we looked at the situation from the mother's POV. His POV was very different. I was shocked to see that Mike had a handgun. Not a simple thing to have in the UK so I wondered what was his profession and why did he have it. But he was shaking when he pointed it at the father so likely not in law enforcement. Interesting story!
Yet, what would qualify someone as capable of keeping a child? Mental health issues often comes in a wide range of severity... I'll say it's not possible to discriminate solely on mental health status.
The soldier boy is the most despicable of them all. He doesn't care about the kid or understanding what's happening, he's just a white knight trying to get some.
Terrible drums and pounding in the background. Can't understand what they say. The mom's voice turned demon at 14:12 LOLOLOL The kid was covered in too much ash by the 2nd ride Hahaha. Could've been a good movie☮
I believe I'm in this situation, my ex has borderline personality disorder, has my girls imprisoned mentally, complete parental alienation. She's raising our babies off of her 4-5 voices in her head. Has a severe fear of abandonment and horror fueled sense of jealousy. Makes people think that I was the bad guy, I nearly went crazy over all the in house and outside house things she was doing! My girls don't have clue, yet....
the father was trying to protect the child - he asked his wife why she was giving his daughter someone else's medicine??? he told her YOU are the one that's sick...
I didn't get the feeling that he is a good guy. In fact i got creeper vibes when he put his hand on her thigh, seemed to appear really fast to her aid, noticed all the ambulances, he's been watching her with a binoculars when she started shouting. Major creep vibes
@@faeleia Hi, Faeleia. Thanks for your comment. I didn't actually mean he is a good guy. I was making reference to the expression often deployed by those opposed to tighter gun regulations that the antidote to a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun. The problem is, EVERYONE with a gun thinks they are the good guy. And the more vehement they are about their right to bear arms, the more likely they are to be driven by anger, hatred, or fear, which of course compromises their judgement and ability to reason. Maybe I should have put "good guy with a gun" in quotations to make that clearer. I'll fix that now.
@@RUclipsallowedmynametobestolen oh Hi Pegasus, thanks for the kind response and clarification, I'm sorry to have misunderstood your comment. Even though I'm not American, i completely agree with you, it seems like the idea of removing guns causes anxiety and makes people think now they cant defend themselves, but i understand that the situation there is much more complicated. But i can't help but think that the presence of keeping firearms is causing more harm than good. Even if nobody was hurt, mental distress, it must be extremely stressful to have a gun pointed at you or be in the vicinity when a loud weapon goes off, or to worry about the safety and security of schools

Turns out James was an involuntary time traveller, so teleportation was not in his hands. Its 2020 now, James has no memories of the 70s timeline, but a Solar Eclipse creates a glitch and by chance James hears the same song again and it revokes all his 70s memories back. *THAT PLOT TWIST THOUGH*
What plot twist, do explain
There should be some sort of test you have to take to have children i swear
Yet, what would qualify someone as capable of keeping a child? Mental health issues often comes in a wide range of severity... I'll say it's not possible to discriminate solely on mental health status.
This will also help control world population
@Oz less people will be able to have children so the birth rate will be slower
@Oz they can still have a relationship with eachother, they just can't have children if they don't pass the test
A lady was just sentenced for this in Feb 2022. She got 16 yrs. MUNCHAUSEN SYNDROME BY PROXY (MSBP) Kid was 7 yrs old at death. COLORADO
Oh dear, Munchausen...😔💙
Very very well done in all aspects! 👏👏👏The acting was phenomenal, BRAVO!💐
Stay 'safe' and be well everyone, blessed be~🌙
The soldier boy is the most despicable of them all. He doesn't care about the kid or understanding what's happening, he's just a white knight trying to get some.
Fr
If the father was truly hurting her, he would indeed be a white knight. Just like the mother he wants to feel important & useful
How easy for a woman to recruit anything, as long as u have money
Oh man she's one of those moms that makes their kids sick. And the dad doesn't even seem violent at all. That was sure a twist.
Terrible voice audio
Terrible drums and pounding in the background. Can't understand what they say. The mom's voice turned demon at 14:12 LOLOLOL The kid was covered in too much ash by the 2nd ride Hahaha. Could've been a good movie☮
@@ellamone9998 j
Damn.. that was a plot twist...
Do explain
Yes plz explain cause I couldn't hear a thing the audio sucks and no subs
I can't believe that the woman faked her injury.
I CAN
That happens all the time. What's not to believe
SPOILER ALERT!
Munchausen by Proxy. Who asks their kid to tell them how much they love mummy? And we all thought daddy was the bad guy 🤔
Was'nt expecting that!
*Wasn’t! :) for future reference
5:20 HE WAS IN PEAKY BLINDERS EEEEEEKKKK
Talk abt a plot twist that mother is crazy
the father was trying to protect the child - he asked his wife why she was giving his daughter someone else's medicine??? he told her YOU are the one that's sick...
Well THAT was a surprise
Alexander Siddig, good in Star Trek, Game of Thrones, and short films.
Etty Rose Blanchard
not the average!!! love it!!!
alright, not a bad short film, weird mirror scene at end makes it seem like a sequel is needed. it isn't.
That's why I'm so addicted to @Omeleto
This needs to be CC.
tru dat
is that... ...doctor Bashir?
yup
Yes, finally I see someone else recognized him! Deep Space Nine!!
Does omeleto mean its filled with all kinds of good stuff?
16:26 -- Too often, this is what a "good guy with a gun" looks like.
Munchhausen by proxy is now called factious disorder and is very rare. Its not as common as every medical and cop show would lead you to think.
Well done!!
Since i'm watching RUclips on on iPad, the comments are placed right below the video and sometimes they talk about what happened in the video and spoil it for me
Rachael Stirling looks like her mother now shes older diana rigg the 80s tv show the advengers , i love Rachael sterling in (tipping the Velvet) , its a must see . it was on youtube the last time a saw it , gay themed love drama , her best work ,

Good show, Dr. Bashir! 😀
18:00 "thousand mile stare"
The "tell your mommy you love her" was sketchy af
That was uncomfortable
hey Omletto, thanks for featuring the last plot, heres one more.
It was the 70s
James took Susan to a Lynard Skinard gig, the song was free bird and James disappeared in the crowd, Susan never saw him again, she cried, farted and moved on.
Turns out James was an involuntary time traveller, so teleportation was not in his hands.
Its 2020 now, James has no memories of the 70s timeline, but a Solar Eclipse creates a glitch and by chance James hears the same song again and it revokes all his 70s memories back. He missed Susan AF,
In the end we see, James walking past the looters/ protesters/sjw/LGBTQROLFLMFOLOL etc
to meet Susan and to tell her what had happened. Will he find her? what must have become of Susan? will she recognise him?
ubuntuber She farted then moved on? 😂😂
Can someone help me find a video idk what's it's called all I know is that there's a girl who's Invisible to everyone around but only one man can see her
Above the Shadows
So That’s what became of Dr. Bashir...
This is a case of the so-called Munchhausen Syndrom
Munchausen Syndrome By Proxy*
You can’t kidnap your own child. This is actually quite sexist.
Not in the eyes of law.
Lol ok
Mr do gooder causing more harm, MYOB.
Not the girls hair litterly
Good plot and script, good acting, good cinematography, LOUSY audio! Even with headphones I had to crank it up loud and could still barely make out what was being said. Moreover, NO CAPTIONS FOR HEARING IMPAIRED! THUMBS DOWN!
what just happened i dont understand
The young girl had no illness, the mother was just overdosing her on unnecessary medication, causing her to feel dizzy etc...
it is called Munchausen Syndrome By Proxy
HELLO FROM LEBANON 🇱🇧
Isn't that the same actor who played wife-beater Trevor or whoever in (for brit viewers) Eastender's married to little mo slater.
Bad parenting tbh
I'm sort of confused...
waiting in the comments for someone to explain wtf just happened
I think she has Münchausen syndrome??
The mum has mental problems and was drugging her daughter to make her ill and the dad was trying to help his daughter
(sigh)... That didn't really hit for me...
Sadistic story line 😳
Predictable but still a good movie and it was funny seeing the actor who plays the military guy play someone saving someone from domestic abuse after his most famous role in eastenders was him playing someone who commits domestic abuse
