Wonder what the purpose of that ending was?! Also, I thought he was going to try to save her from being evicted from the warehouse or something. I really didn’t like the unclear ending; just when I started caring about him and Skip Girl!
I thought the ending was a flashback to when he crashed the motorcycle that left him the mirror remains. He had shorter facial hair indicating he was younger.
I once helped an old lady who wanted her garage to be organized. I wouldn't throw stuff away unless it was truly useless, but a lot of stuff can be donated. She had so much stuff, mostly wanted to hold onto it because she might "use it someday". But there were lots of useful things that would be more useful to someone else who'd actually use it. There was an old microwave in there that my roommates ended up using for years. Lots of tools that hadn't been used in ages. There were some sentimental items as well. Not like family photos or anything, that stuff should be held on to. But a couple instruments that hadn't been played in years, maybe even decades. And some old tapes, a stereo, and some speakers. I guarantee that anything that you have that you haven't touched or looked at in years, can probably be appreciated by someone else. You may have good memories associated with them, but those memories are yours and will never go away, no matter what happens to the items anyways. It's good to let someone else have a chance to make some memories too. And it makes space in your own life to make more new memories with new things in your life. You don't have to move on. But maybe your stuff should move on to someone else.
As a musician, engaged to one of my band-mates, I know how sentimental we are about certain items. Things have meaning and memories. All must be dealt with delicately. What an evil-heartless-Oprah book reader, that woman. Love the squatting chick. Lives her life with the wild in her heart. Revived his own heart by his trash. So beautiful. She brought the former musician back to life. :) This so hit the spot. ---> As always, Thank you Omeleto!
Oh man I love this. I have had a female that has done me the same way maybe get rid of all of my stuff just to appease her. The only bad part is I didn't have anyone to collect it and make it art. Phenomenal short film.
I liked it. It was worth the watch, and the musical score was absolutely superb! It blended well with the overall atmosphere and the moods of the characters. I'm going to watch it again. 🤔
Wonderful end - spoiler alarm! if you didn't watch it yet! - story twisting around some options until it finally ends up him being the real minimalist, leaving everything including empty home and minimalistic wife behind and taking only a couple of essential and meaningful items with him on his old Royal Enfield ... good old biker dream ...
The man. It was never about things for him. That is why he doesn't complain much when she is tossing his stuff. The things were just indicators of his past, ties to memories, which trigger him (along with the impetus provided by Skip Girl) to remember who he is and who he wants to be. When he leaves, he does not have much stuff with him. The woman. For her it was about not being able to have a child. She couldn't control this (perhaps unless she left him), so she turned to another aspect of her life that she feels she CAN control: things. Well...HIS things. In this instance, the elimination thereof. However, it is only an illusion of control. The act of eliminating things, was in fact controlling her. Psychologically, she really wanted to throw HIM away, because she blamed him (his "lazy swimmers") for her unhappiness.
(It is the abandonment of our illusion of control that ultimately frees us.) Also, this movie was about REUSING. REUSE=GOOD.
And who says the "creative girl" wouldn't have turned out like the "minimalist cow" eventually? It was his inabilities which enabled her erasure of his entire past. He was entirely passive, and if you read between the lines, you can tell that he has been for years. His passivity may have enabled a once vibrant woman to become stale and then existentially minimalist.
The "creative girl" doesn't believe in marriage. Furthermore, he's not entitled to pursue every woman the male viewer of this short film believes to be worth "possessing". She's not the junk he loves to collect.
@@jorislemoine1488 I notice it was all his stuff that she threw out though, and what I got from it was that she was very domineering; her way or no way.
@@jorislemoine1488 I sense BS between "the lines". Do you feel the connection with the character? There are hoarders and people who throw things that don't belong to them. I have seen them.
I wouldn't say he was a hoarder or that she was necessarily someone who threw away everything (of someone else). It was clear that she was mostly throwing away stuff that had emotional value for him, and all of it symbolic: the broken guitar as a way to showcase his failed music career; the hat as a reminder of younger days and being cool; reminders of activities he had done. It was obvious that she was unburdening him of emotional baggage, and it was clear that - for her - he too was emotional baggage, and the logical conclusion of the piece was their separation. All of these symbolic touches - it is a very clever short film - don't have to signify any big statements on hoarders vs. cleaners, but there is definitely something to be said of people who cling to objects either for reasons of feeling secure or because they have an emotional connection with those objects. On the other hand, someone who throws everything away could be interpreted as more socially or emotionally distant, but in many cultures asceticism and self-enforced poverty are philosophical and mental practices to sharpen the mind. The wife definitely knew how she wanted to clean up her own life, as a way to take stock for the next phase. After all, there were some allusions to his infertility. So, she wanted children, and failing that, she wanted to live life without the expectation of that future, nor on a life focused on the past - their relationship.
@@ramonalujan5889 He wasn't looking back, he IS all his memories and his future, and his future was compromised with that partner of his. Even ending tragically, it was a good decision. Also I prefer to think that he is ok :).

My God!! I'm 63 and this is the verbatim story of my life! How does the story end?...I'm happy and have left a much smaller carbon footprint...living with past good memories (ok, maybe not all but life's not perfect) seems to be helping me make new good ones which is so comforting in these days of chaos. Getting old can be good...what has she got?...the insatiable desire for more power and money. You go girl!!!
People dont seem to fully get this video his wife isnt just bad, she actually was looking after things and they had funtional place to live but its had a cost for his spirit, the skip girl revived his spirit but was nieve when it came to having a reliable home, at the end its clear he crashes his bike somewhat so their's both the argument about being free (with added risk/danger) or taking less risks (with added dampaning of the spirit)
Relate to the man, perfectly! Is nothing that's more than 2 years old worth keeping? Love letters (even when the love relation is alive)? a little token of one's mother's war-torn childhood? a leatherbound classic that ought to be an heirloom? History is all that we really have.
No way I would allow anybody to throw my stuff away. I would consider talking about some of it but not stand there and watch her pick and choose. I think I would have started throwing her stuff out the window also. I thought in the end he was finally free and " Lived happily ever after " but he gets run over, lol. That would be my luck. : )
I mean..I get a satisfaction of throwing away things that I haven't seen, used, or cared about in the past 6 months. I have one large storage bin that I put old clothing or objects that are nostalgic to me, and one shoe box to put cards, letters, pictures, and things like playwrights and sheet music in. I also have a box for costume stuff that I've made in the past and a portfolio to hold onto art that I've made in the past. All things that I put my heart into and I won't let go. I try not to get super attached to most things though. A fire could destroy everything and I want to have my attachment to the beings that I love, my cat and my boyfriend, rather than stuff that will one day be gone without me someday. I would never force my boyfriend to get rid of things he cared about though unless he has a hoarding problem and is holding onto literal trash.
it wasnt about hoarding, it was about him not being able to have children, and that hurt her, so she hurt him by destroying his past, cause they cant have a "future" aka family..
I was watching this and thinking of me and my son...my need to rescue everything and his desire to get a clutter free home. I felt so much empathy for the guy and appreciation for all the characters
Fairly obvious but enjoyable. Wonder why people clicked dislike, don't know what there is to dislike about it unless you live with someone who wants to throw your stuff away and it's too like real life for you.
Wow. Sorry you went through that. That scene hit me...where they got evicted and it happens minutes after she talks about 50000 square feet at her disposal. Prime real estate and she is clearly contributing value within that space
There are a lot of people crapping on this woman who wants to live in a clean house. Sounds like she gave him 2 years to do it himself. Also, instead of having an adult conversion with his wife about it, he childishly builds resentment and runs off to lust after the fantasy of some other girl. The time he spent with Skip Girl would have been better suited not making his wife clean his hoarding problem by herself. Seems like she's better off without some man-child feeling sorry for himself.
She literally threw away his entire past In the dumpster... ALL OF HIS OBSESSIONS, FEELINGS, AND MEMORIES HAD TO BE ERASED TO SATISFY HER EMOTIONAL EGO.
Those viewers who celebrate him "claiming" his junk, as if it were a victory or an accomplishment, are the exact kind of people who'd hoard toiletpaper during a pandemic. :P Men with an*l fixation, who feel powerless, unless they can cling to possessions...
Just adopt the wife's technique for physically picking up stuff, i.e. bend at the knees. She had fantastic technique, a shining example, that dolly was.
It's funny you say "own", because the film questions the very idea of "ownership". The girl is squatting because property isn't real. Property is the exact opposite of art and a hindrance to creativity.

You don't have to move on. But maybe your stuff should move on to someone else.
Lady: we dont even have a casette player.
Woman you dang threw it out!?!
It's obvious to me that she tried the delicate method for years, possibly decades, or that stuff wouldn't be there.
How nice. She made him a memorabilia piece.
He looks so at home in his leathers and on the motorcycle - that was really him.
Oh man I love this. I have had a female that has done me the same way maybe get rid of all of my stuff just to appease her. The only bad part is I didn't have anyone to collect it and make it art. Phenomenal short film.
Thank you Gus.....glad you liked it :)
Sorry you went through that
@The Isle News satire
Part of a bigger story of how to crush a man.
Awesome how the wings fit perfectly behind him at the end!!!👍🏽❤️🎬
At least he was free
I liked it. It was worth the watch, and the musical score was absolutely superb! It blended well with the overall atmosphere and the moods of the characters. I'm going to watch it again. 🤔
Whoever was in charge of soundtrack has some serious taste
Superb acting and direction and everything
Wonderful end - spoiler alarm! if you didn't watch it yet! - story twisting around some options until it finally ends up him being the real minimalist, leaving everything including empty home and minimalistic wife behind and taking only a couple of essential and meaningful items with him on his old Royal Enfield ... good old biker dream ...
Clearly you stopped watching too soon
@@Catherine-wn8dh No no I've seen all, but as my wife always says: I simply do not want to listen ... 🙉
Stunning from start -----to ------------FINISH, even the credits were special
That sure was a beautiful sculpture of skip girl angel. I'd keep most def! PAPA GUNN, RANDYMAN.
Homegirl threw out the whole Damn house
(It is the abandonment of our illusion of control that ultimately frees us.)
Also, this movie was about REUSING. REUSE=GOOD.
He should have married the creative girl rather than the minimalist cow.
She gave him back his wings
Dude got his LIFE 😉 yaaas
But wrecked b4 he left his lane so the moral is stop looking back b4 you run into what's in front
@@ramonalujan5889 He wasn't looking back, he IS all his memories and his future, and his future was compromised with that partner of his. Even ending tragically, it was a good decision.
Also I prefer to think that he is ok :).
@@sterling_max - I agree. I wouldn't want to stay in that hell hole either. I'm glad he got out and hope he's ok too. But staying with her was probably like death or worse
It’s hard to let go of things sometimes, bravo 👏
This brings back a lot of dumpster diving memories.
Keep your stuff and throw her out😒🙄....I swear she truly irritated the crap outta me, she need to live ALONE🤣
Agree....I prefer the homey cluttered house to a tidy sterile one. Tidy is overrated.
notice how her only box, had postcards, and old letters... she threw none of them away. everything that was his, gone. you can tell it was HIS flat.
shes trying to erase his whole past, so he has nothing but her..
@@southpineshooligan Yes....it sounds abusive when you put it like that.
@@southpineshooligan The potted plants and hexagonal cubes sitting on the dresser, too. All presumably hers, kept.
Love how they did the credits at the end! I actually paid attention!
I totally loved the credits too..
I felt every bit of that poor man's grief.
I was watching this and thinking of me and my son...my need to rescue everything and his desire to get a clutter free home. I felt so much empathy for the guy and appreciation for all the characters
Leave people’s stuff alone.
...the shot of the bath water going down the drain, said it all.
Brilliant work!! Well performed and directed, well done !!
A lot of women want to be the centre your life while making you a servant of theirs
Fairly obvious but enjoyable. Wonder why people clicked dislike, don't know what there is to dislike about it unless you live with someone who wants to throw your stuff away and it's too like real life for you.
Loved it !!!! (Also been there, had that done, but no sculpture...).
I love how Skip Girl styled the blow-up doll.
I remember being homeless.... oh the old eviction process......
Wow. Sorry you went through that. That scene hit me...where they got evicted and it happens minutes after she talks about 50000 square feet at her disposal. Prime real estate and she is clearly contributing value within that space
16:07 it looked like he had metallic wings 😂
That was the plan....he needed to fly away.....
This is gold! Love the story behind it.
Great short!
Wow this is so good !
Actors are all class 👌🏼
Top film making
She literally threw away his entire past In the dumpster... ALL OF HIS OBSESSIONS, FEELINGS, AND MEMORIES HAD TO BE ERASED TO SATISFY HER EMOTIONAL EGO.
Throw a Mans Hat, This better have a happy ending, At least he got his hat back, LMAO
Those viewers who celebrate him "claiming" his junk, as if it were a victory or an accomplishment, are the exact kind of people who'd hoard toiletpaper during a pandemic. :P
Men with an*l fixation, who feel powerless, unless they can cling to possessions...
That reminds me. I need to buy a puncture repair kit for my girl-friend.
I would be divorcing that woman. I wonder how much of HER stuff got tossed.
If someone tried to get rid of my things like that, they’d be out the door not my things.
Throw out enough of someone's anchors and the connection will be gone.
I loved it. Well shot and good story. I have a husband who keeps stuff.....I would love to do this. He can keep some stuff.
Just adopt the wife's technique for physically picking up stuff, i.e. bend at the knees. She had fantastic technique, a shining example, that dolly was.
This channel is such a treasure, I LOVE these films!
I wish to own a garage like that and invite my all artist friends to chill over weekend... 💖💖
It's funny you say "own", because the film questions the very idea of "ownership". The girl is squatting because property isn't real. Property is the exact opposite of art and a hindrance to creativity.
@@badgrrrl That's why I said 'own' and not 'use' temporarily like her! 💁
That doesn't make any sense.
