    Awesome job all around
    Quick question; what would you recommend to use in case of not having the parts washer available? Also, do you use any product to clean the block and parts?
    Thank for your time sir!

    Thanks for the video. Dunno why, but those dingleberry brush hones always scare the cap out of me. Nevertheless, that's a good tool that provides decent results with a bit of practice. Some even give plateau finish, wich is preferable. I'd run a bore gage to be sure, but your cylinders looked really mint. In the end you mentioned that honing breaks the glaze and gives the ring fresh material to seat and wear on. I'd say that main purpose of honing is oil retention, and plateau hone lets the rings work without breaking in. I understand that you work alone, and I'm a loner myself when it comes to automotive work, but you really should've provided constant oil flow while honing.

    Great! just got a 1993 6bT 12valve. I want to put it into my Chevy K3500. I'm confused about the wiring. How do I know what wires I need and what I dont? I actually have no idea what all these numerous wires are for. It's a little crazy!

    • @CUTTERUPROB
      @CUTTERUPROB 4 года назад +1

      If your still looking for this info, main bearing oil clearance should be .0015-.0020 and the piston to wall clearance should be .005

    Please tell me that "scrapping" that dodge was taking it to a junkyard to be parted out. Parts are getting so hard to find for the dodge diesels everyone just pulls the beautiful motors out and kills the truck.

    I am currently rebuilding the same engine in my 91 dodge and was wondering how to properly time the injection pump. I have the cam gear at top dead center and timed with the crank shaft and was wondering do you loosen the gold colored bolt and remove the tab then tighten the bolt back down like a set screw or do you remove the bolt and tab completely?

    Man am i glad i found this channel. My 72 Chevy C20 3/4 ton PU died about a month and a half ago was wanting to do a LS swap but really wanted to go Diesel but they were too big and too much money. Till i found this Cummins 6BT and this is the engine i want. I don't need a monster engine but want some torque when i do pull a trailer, or possibly a 5th wheel, but also want a dependable truck for daily driving. This fits my needs to a tee. I had an 87 Peterbilt with a 3406 mechanical Cat dont know too much Cummins and watched this wonder where are the sleeves. This help a lot, the 3 vids, so now im ready to get the engine and get started. I'm going for a 400 hp and had a question as the trans. what would you recommend. I'm looking at an a Allision 1000 5 speed but not sure it will hold up or with minor upgrades will it be OK. I'll have more questions as i go but glad i found this for now. I have a 10K budget but hope i can get away with 8K

    #6 cylinder gets beat the worst because it’s furthest from the water pump and it runs the hottest ring/cylinder wall temps. Usually removing the rear soft plug and seeing the antifreeze sludge shows how much shit is in your cooling system.

    Did yall get that mildew off the headliner? I recall yall are reusing the seats but I dont recall yall redoing the moldy headliner? Mold is mucho no bueno to inhale. I thought yall would've replaced the entire interior instead of "reusing" the moldy seats.

    I dont think #6 cylinder has issues because of oil. I think because if the exhaust manifold doesnt let it breathe properly. The manifold is uneven.
