I miss survival. Its def more of a dino pvp game now especially with so many toxic players
The toxicity really is a joke
@@BASSHOLE8752 it's gotten so bad (official servers) that I only play for an hour or so a week since it's only mixpacks and kosing
@@whiteboideku983 yeah I rarely get on official servers anymore. It's really a shame.
For me I only ever wanted combat and I didnt care about survival and if I wanted survival I would go for the isle
@@whiteboideku983 I play on official servers a bit and people are a lot more friendlier than community servers
As a primarily solo player on official servers, it would be nice to see more things to do and also encouragement to explore the map more. The constant adjustment of the dinos like they're trying to make them all equal is not realistic at all. Apexes were bad ass for a reason and they seem to nerf them to make it easier to take down. I luv the idea of the game being a survival game but at the moment it is definitely 90% pvp bc there is nothing to do once u become an adult.
I'm brand new to this game but, they DEFINITELY need to improve the quests. I was annoyed with the very first one and realized that they are the same 3 or 4 quests with variations on wording. Growth shouldn't feel tedious. It should simultaneously feel rewarding.
The quest system is absolutely horrible, especially playing solo
They want growth to be based on quest so 🤷
Yeah, i think growth should be given when u defeat other dinos and survive long enough not picking nuts and flowers.
@@force179 then they need to make the quests less repetitive and more interactive
@@derrickrobertson2317 they have that but in quest form for carni
A big problem in this game is mix packing and people targeting you for no reason
What are they supposed to do about it
@@thatoneguy3450 they could make it to where you get a debuff if you stay close to the opposite diet for too long
I agree, it's so stupid that they want this game to be just PvP. It feels like that I'm the only one who wanders around the map. Majority of my old playgroup have moved to just sit in hotspots and doing 1v10 dino death fights.
how much gameplay can you bank on just exploring the map? once youre done its over. pvp gives real interaction and gives longevity. they should give more punishment to death tho so that way there wont be death matchy hotspots.
@butchersblock yeah no . I play this game to literally role-play as a dinosaur and be as realistic as possible . 1v10 against dino mix packs breaks the immersion. Go and fking play cod you lil twat. The maps are massive in this game . You csn be walking around for A LONGGGA TIME and not get bored. I know for a fact you gst bored because you're brain is the size of a peanut so you do mixed packs and 20 vs 1 juvie makes yall satisfied. Go play fking fortnite
@@butchersblockyeah not about the death punishment if u want that go on a realism server that has that like WWD
@@butchersblock too much PvP Will make any game become toxic. Look at the toxicity in PoT nowadays, Its beyond salvation, especially on official servers. And unlike the Isle devs that do something about those toxicity, the devs of PoT do absolutely NOTHING.
The Isle invented cannibalism debuffs to prevent killing of the same species for food, instead encourage them to cooperate as an efficient pack Hunter. And recently they added pterodactylus to prevent herbivores from bodycamping dead bodies. The fact that they added these things to prevent toxicity within the game is worthy of respect.
I have nothing against change unless something changes all the time. Some dinosaurs have gotten better and others are sometimes good and then bad again. That strikes me as negative. I think they pay too much attention to criticism instead of making the game the way the developers think it should be.
What criticism have they listened to? To me it seems like the opposite. They seem stuck in their own head of refusing to be like the isle (thus refusing to add any means of locating food) and refusing to make the game remotely realistic even if it would be an objectively beneficial to add certain mechanics that would do so (such as better growth systems, better/more accurate quest systems, etc.). They didn't add the things people wanted. You think people wanted the dolphin dinosaur thing in the aquatic update over having actual mechanics that could improve their experience? They kind of seem to be going with their own flow and it's damaging the game. Sure, they worry about balance but I don't think the entire fanbase was crying that megalania venom was too OP. They clearly are doing these balance updates on a bit of a whim.
@@viennasavage9110 on some things i give u right but my comment was only about dino balance lol.
@@viennasavage9110they don't want to be even close to the isle considering the main devs use to be apart of that game and gotten into a argument with dondi and left taking there codes with em and started development on PoT
@@viennasavage9110I agree with you completely on this. One thing for sure, they (the devs) never care about toxic behavior in the game. Even the Isle Evrima devs invented cannibalism debuffs and pterodactylus to help reduce toxicity within the game.
Cannibalism debuff helps people with the same species to cooperate instead of killing each others for food. Pterodactylus help to prevent body camping from herbivores, because it Will attack anything near the dead body and any smart Herbie Will choose to leave it instead of wasting Stam trying to kill those pests.
Yeah, I agree with you here. There needs to be way more stuff to do in the environment, such as new quests, events or as you said AI dinos. I cant tell you how many times i have left the game for a few months, only to come back to like 3 updates with all of them adding nothing to the game besides buffs and nerfs.
This game has serious "core issue" dude. That is "trophy hunting". The idea is, you and your buddies camp certain quest site, ambush any sub adults or adults, took their trophy, bring them to your homecave for significant amount of growth. EZ growth.
As long as this "most exciting way to get growth" exist, people Will always play this way, Wheter they added new interactive quest or not.
@@temujinchannel8584 I agree this is an issue in a game where there are no admins to moderate it, it’s not the core issue. The core issue is this game has no substance outside of the context of a PvP battle royale game. Instead of getting an identity for the game, the devs have chosen to follow the likes of PUBG, CoD, Battlefield, Fortnite, Apex Legends, WoWS, WoT, etc then have the gaul to call it a “survival game” because if you weren’t killed in PvP, you survived. In effect this makes any other survival aspects like food & water a moot point. The fact they don’t have AI dinos keeping players in check or at least distracting them is the reason the game is so PvP-centric & is so toxic between players.
@temujinchannel8584 I mean they have to focus sub adults and adults for the trophies. I don't see an issue here. There is no incentive for killing juvis or noobs so I don't see it as an issue.
I do wish they would focus less on PVP though and more on the world building instead
They need to lean into the MMORPG aspect. Quests with storylines, random events, AI, etc. Make the creature you play the equivalent of a class in an MMO. They already made it RPG style so they need to lean into it.

It’s kind of funny they’re listening to people about everything but anky which isn’t really op just way to boring to fight. I have a feeling anky is there favorite creature
While trex gets shafted most of the time 😅
I feel ano is op because of the fact that not only does it have a 2 in armor but it gets the hunker down ability. Not to mention they are able to swim well now. I agree it is boring to fight. If rex is suppose to be a counter to ano then they should've given him the armor pierce bite. I never saw rex as op due to crappy speed, turning and not good stam.
Make rex great again
@@discordxibalba4599 piercing bite doesn’t work on ano hunker down but I feel it wouldn’t help as much on the rex cause it ignores cw in both good and bad which means you’d have to bite a raptor multiple times instead of once or twice if you wanted to have the face tank or bonebreak on your rex and still do dmg
@lumperony5664 really then that makes it worse and shows why I think they really love the ano and wanna keep it op. Rex already has stomp which makes Raptors easy to deal with I'm my experience.
Completely agree they need to focus on everything OTHER than the pvp Side ofthis game
Alot of ppl wanted combat to be better so that's what the devs are trying to do
@@force179 if That's the case, it would never end because people always complains. And the definition of "balance" is different from one person from another. And what "balance" devs have in mind maybe seems unfair to certain people or could even majority of people. The devs has lost their way.....
I can only say that the devs is just incapable of creating new innovation so they use "dino balance" to make excuses of any questions about the game development/progression.
@@temujinchannel8584 out of what part of u said has to deal with what I said I said combat not balance
@@force179 sigh....... You are not the brightest, are you? In essence, Its the same. They always update "combat" ability of dinos to balance the gameplay, although i agree with some of the update like Pounce and grabs, most of the balance changes is just complete waste of their time and our time.
PoT lacks of end game feature/gameplay (after you have succesfully raised your dino to adult stage) and the easiest thing the devs can do to keep the toxic kids busy is to provide them "good combat experience". I say, the devs really incapable of innovation.
Officials needs passive growth with questing being a way to grow faster, being forced to do horribly boring quests just to grow and enjoy the game is really annoying
Passive growth on official and NPC dinos and game be top ten
Also a solution to the map feeling so empty is increasing the player count on the map. Or adding AI dinos that are actually interactive and challenging personally I think a mix of both would be the best overall.
More players would lead to even lower tick rates. Smaller map is the way to go, not more players.
I couldn’t agree more with your thoughts on the game. I’ve had the game over 2 years now, and comparing gameplay then to now, is upsetting. Mainly the toxicity with one another. The only plus I’d give the game for right now, is that on official servers, I’ll see everyone play at least one of every Dino. It’s so balanced now that there isn’t a single Dino that’s singled out to be the worst one globally, like how alio and amarg used to never be touched. It’s toxic people however that keeps me to this day, from making new friends and playing in groups anymore. As soon as they ever bring AI into the game, I’d be on single player all the time lol. Or, if they ever got rid of global chat, and limited you to only talk to other species alike, it’d be such a better experience. (WolfDreamer)
Yes, the toxicity within PoT is getting worse by every update. And i suppose the Devs don't care about it at all. Unlike the Isle Evrima, i find that they are doing good job reducing toxicity within their game.
The cannibalism debuffs encourage people of the same species cooperate to become an efficient pack instead of killing each other. And recently with their new map come pterodactylus that prevent herbivores from bodycamping the dead body. With stamina changes, any smart Herbie would leave it instead wasting their stams trying to kill them.
In their quest to not be The Isle or Ark they forget what makes those games so good.
If they want an MMO dino game, make it an MMO.
Each zone should have it's own reason to visit, I.e. quests or events, or unique environmental stuff.
Add a volcano have it erupt n form lava rivers that deal damage as well as magma bombs n ash.
Give us a spectacle.
Give us a proper sense feature.
Let us sense local food, water, and blood if there's an active bleed, or footprints if you spec your dino for any of those things.
I play Pot cause I don't have a pc to play the Isle.
100% agreed, they try to make themselves completely diferent of other titles to the point the genre no longer makes sense, it doesnt feel like a dinosaur survival game, it feels like a jurassic call of duty
@@diogopereira1475 ha J-CoD if you will.
I agree
I have bought PoT for the same reason you did. I've got to admit, I think I would be much happier if it was The Isle released on consoles instead (and I know it perhaps will never be released on PS or Xbox). I just feel like it's way more fun, realistic and just cooler that PoT. Also, The Isle's creatures feel way more unique, meanwhile in PoT almost every dino has the same or very similitar abilities xD
I think one major issue is the growth in this game. Yeah it would be boring to just wait to grow up so thats why their are quests, but sometimes they feel useless. Plus if you reach adult and die you go back down to half of sub-adult wich in m opinion is dumb. Imagine spending hours to reach adult finally feeling awarded for your hard work then a couple minutes later, your not adult again and you have to collect flowers.
You only lose 5 quests worth of growth when you die 🤨 thats half a minibar, unless you playing in community servers where hosts customize the penalties
I feel like they should add passive growth but keep quest to help grow and to get marks and based on the dinosaur the passive growth will be longer or shorter
You lose a .5 bar of growth, not 2.5, literally 30 mins of questing and your back to adult
@@joshuabower1326 not even 30 mins like 10 maybe 5
I’ve stopped playing this game not because of the developers but because I always get jumped by 3 or more Dino’s and their usually mixpackers. I played for the first time in a month to test the new sarco and I got jumped by 2 Spinos a sucho and 2 sarcos
I keep getting betrayed and start being killed on purpose by teammates
@@LeafBoiGeckoGT yeh I’ve had that happen a couple times to me ….like bruh really
Sounds about right
AI dinos, migrations, and bosses sounds amaizing. I would play 3 times as much if that was a thing!
We have some good things coming in the future like nesting, deathmathes, some new creatures.
Edit: it’s Just my opinion stop being so negative look on the bright side. I was just trying to look on the bright side.
Normal mode is already a deathmatch, what it needs is a more realistic gamemode
There are death match servers already so that’s kinda pointless and what new creatures we have gotten 1 new creature in a year so far. Besides that it’s been constant combat updates with nothing else that gives players any more incentive to keep playing or any more incentive not to hang out in hot spots all day in large groups. That’s just my opinion tho
@@diogopereira1475 play on official servers then
@@koopaslayer7598 if you’re gonna hate on the game why play go play something else.
@@Mrmilk8982 what are you talking about hate on the game you must be really sensitive and not understand what the difference between hate and criticism is. I have played this game for 2 years off and on I’m not going anywhere. You do realize this whole video was criticizing the games current direction right? Maybe you should play something else.
I got my mom into playing this game, she is 60. We roam the outside areas, looking for loners to pick off. We have also gotten into some fun 2v2 things as well. Right now we play on a realism server. So growing doesn't take 20 hours. Still a fun journey to be had though. Even with low passive growth turned on. She learned to play the game using Single Player mode. It taught her basic moves, camera angles, and the burrows were a good test run for combat. Just enough to get the basics. Outside that, 0 reason to play Single Player.
Not sure what to even suggest to make the game more fun. Stop nerfing dinos, just buff crappy ones. Why make 1 group of people feel like they have to quit. Right now meg isn't even fun anymore. Some dinos should be power houses. That is how things work in the real world. Bigger you are the more badass you should be!
Why? Why bringing your mom when you just wanna say something about Meg.
@@temujinchannel8584Because it is my and her experience in the game, not yours? So I am going to share it... Guy asked what would make the game more or less fun. So I gave my examples. Who pee'd in your cheerios this morning?
Some ideas to make it more fun:
- protect the baby
go to home cave where you can activate a protect the baby event, somewhere on the map. This will pop up on the map for all to see incentivizing others to come attack your AI baby. If you secure the protection for x amount of time, then you get a trophy.
-migration
In your home cave you can activate migration event where you escort AI Dino’s of your same species from point A to point B. If all survive then you are rewarded marks or growth.
-bounty
You activate a bounty on yourself showing yourself on the map for everyone to see. If you survive x amount of time then you are rewarded growth or marks, if you die you receive an increased growth penalty.
-boss fights
You and your group can complete the set quests required for a boss fight. Say ten quests taking you to multiple locations on the map. Once these are completed you can go to a cave entrance location somewhere on the map where only your group who have completed the quests can enter. Here your group will fight a strong dinosaur and will be rewarded if it is defeated.
- nesting/raising
When adult you can for say 5000 marks place a nest which will have an egg of your species inside. After x amount of time it will hatch an AI baby that will follow you can you can raise with quests relatively easily. This baby will also provide you with passive mark gain or double mark gain when questing, not sure which would be better.
-juggernaut
Every so often a juggernaut event will activate. A massive dino will spawn on the map (AI) and it will appear for everyone to see. It will wander for x amount of time and if defeated it will drop an extra valuable trophy.
the game needs a solo mode, where you cant group up with others and it needs to do something about annoying mixpackers
Community servers help a lot of the issues mentioned. Just have to find the right one for you. I agree with you on all points though.
The nerfs cause a lot of confusion if you're coming back to the game after you stop playing for a while
Also its really weird to me how they have only one fully aquatic while creating a vaste ocean filled with nothing.
Thank God for modders though. They're saving this game on lufe support...sad
Community servers can be good, my issue with it is:
1. No room to ever join a room. Even if it says 96/100 by the time the mods update, I’m notified after waiting a long time that ooopsie the room is full now. And that keeps happening over and over. The wait time to get in is stupid. I already paid for the game I should be able to join any community server, but it’s not like that, and there’s no queue. Waiting an hour to join any room…stupid.
2. My console shows I have 2 gbs available (12/14gb) for mods and I need another 8gb of space to install these new updates. Where am I supposed to get this magical extra space, and WHO decided it was only 14 gb for all the mods. There’s no way to increase it and no way to uninstall mods because i end up always needing to install this extra 8gb in all the rooms it seems. I’ve tried uninstalling mods to allow new ones it doesn’t work.
3. Last but not least all rooms experience rule breaking. I’ve been in so many different servers watching people complain about rb, rude control freak mods, that don’t even let you speak. If a conversation is happening between 2 people, not even toxic. Just a debate, these mods force you to stop talking about things. Seemingly because they assume it’s going to escalate so you don’t even have freedom to talk properly. And for me needing to memorise a gauntlet of rules is a waste of my brain space. I just mind my business when I play the game, as an adult I don’t need rules, but I’m “expected” to learn the rules…hard pass.
These 3 reasons are why I do not like or play in community servers anymore. Imagine trying to get into a semi realism server, but everyday you’re waiting 20mins- 1hr JUST to get into the room. Your only saving grace is to hope the time you get online the room you wish to join has just reset, or keep checking it every 5 mins. I have a life…honestly it’s a joke…Oh and also they wipe all your Dinos from time to time.
Mods ruin the balance….
I understand that they are probably just trying to get all the current dinosaur decently balanced and fun to play, which for the most part I think most dinos are fairly balanced with the exception of maybe amarga, and there’s definitely a few dinosaurs that can use some unique ability still so that people will play them, they’re probably thinking once they do all this and get it done now they don’t have to touch it for a while, do need to keep in mind, they tend to work on stuff behind-the-scenes without telling us for a really long time, so there may be a lot of new features in the works. They just haven’t revealed them yet. If they can get 200 player servers working and nesting I think that will be really good for the game as long as they can make nesting worth it so people will actually do it, as a feature I would personally like to see, added, soon is natural disasters, feel like this has a lot of potential to make players move around the map more, having wildfires happen in certain locations so that they’re basically blocked off for limited amount of time, floods, so that aquatic dinosaurs can have more interaction with land dinos stuff like that would be cool, just generally more PVE related stuff would be nice
Natural disasters would be huge!!! Imagine the water running out at impact crater, or it the main lakes/ rivers drying up, forcing you to relocate to Dino’s that do better in dryer conditions and crossing paths would spice it up. And yes if I choose a squishy Dino, I should feel the need to run from an apex. Maybe be able to fight a bit but ultimately flight. A deer isn’t squaring up a bear so why should it be like that in this game.
To be honest the only thing i want they add to the game is functional dino AI that come in all size. From Tiny one to apexes. And probably they might wanna rework the quest, because most of the quests are BORING.
They need to add in AI dinos for single player mode.
I hate as a baby carni I get the “hunt a herb” quest, like bro how am I supposed kill a herb in this game there all tanks 😂
I agree. You've said facts here. I am very glad that the devs are engaged in working out the balance, but they need to bring new content to the game. When you're an adult, there's nothing to do except fight, it can get boring quickly... we are really looking forward to nesting... yes, and it's really a shame for the big, beautiful maps that no one explores
What the definition of balance do you have in mind? Because every person have their own definition of "balance". The devs also have their own version of balance. If they focused on this subject instead of further development of the game then it would never end, because people always complains. This month balance update was wasted because they rebalancing in the next month... Its never ends.... They just wasting their precious and productive time. I said the devs is just incapable of doing any innovation to make the game more interactive and more exciting.
@@temujinchannel8584 oh. Well when I say the devs are working on the balance, I mean they are working on the dinosaurs' stats and abilities.
Players are whats killing the game. Mixpacks and staying 10 deep in one spot (which are mostly community players coming to official because they’re scared to DIE). then attack the first solo player they see. And these same ppl are the ones complaining their fav dino cant 1v1 every dino in the game. Devs are at fault because they’re listening to this group of ppl.
Not to mention half the animals they had as stretch goals aren't even here. Game development as a whole has stagnated.
What makes it most frustrating, we have no idea what the devs are actually working on............they definitely need better communication such as showing us what they're currently working on and how far they are on their roadmap. Because to me, it feels like they are not doing anything which is why I cant bring myself to play this game.
I would rather play Naraka where the devs are amazing and have very good communication. they have a major update almost every 2-4 weeks with top quality work and little hidden gems that are not necessary but they add it for the fun of it.
Ai Dino’s would be amazing they could make them unplayable Dino’s so you can still tell if it’s a player or ai and the next one is either more quests or just better quests that’ll make you grow faster like maybe make it where if your in a pack with another Dino of your kind it gives you a multiplier to where each quest gives more growth it could range for just a small percent or what I’d like a multiplier like make it 2x for two and 3x for 3 and so on so you can split group quests and still grow decently or grow super fast with a adult which makes sense and it would also incentivice people to group up as the same Dino so it might help a little bit with mix and mega packs.
This game has serious "core issue".
@@temujinchannel8584 yeah I mean not protecting people who do it cause me and my friend do that exept for camping one quest spot we actually roam the map hunting but when you get you Dino adult there’s really nothing for you to do but kill other players since there’s nothing else better to do and there’s no rebirth way of playing either so it’s either go grind another 8+ hours to get another Dino adult if you don’t have them all adult or go hunt other players
@@lumperony5664 yeah, That's the issue. This game lack of gameplay and innovation from the devs, That's why they ended up focusing on PvP update, which i find it unfortunate. They could bring much more innovation, such as nesting, or AI into the game but they focusing another update of janky mechanics. I said the devs is incapable of doing some innovation to the game.
I used to love this game but stuff like homecave debuff , removing quest banking and constant nerfs always seems to make me want to play less.
i completely agree that they should not debuff certain dino's the trex should be a overpowered dino simply because its the largest mainly terrestrial carnivore in the game. plus its a freaken trex the king of dinosaurs.
I absolutely agree with this video. Mix and matching buffs and nerfs are great and it does keep the Dino’s fresh but for god sake the actual game needs an overhaul…when I’m waiting for mates to come online and I’m already an adult, I have no reason to do anything but eat and drink…no point questing because I have my skin, no point killing adults I don’t need experience “trophies” and I sure as hell don’t need to make my home cave “look better” because I can’t do anything in it to benefit me in the slightest.
Ai Dino’s would be great, to be able to hunt packs of them for quest and marks, have a waypoint quest which gets you moving across the map and each waypoint increases in marks, have Dino’s that can use the trees to climb would be awesome as well, we also need more things to spend marks on, new skins and better designs with more colours.
One more thing is the Dino’s need some unique senses added. Night vision, smelling, nesting, heat vision, camouflage abilities, etc.
This game needs players for it to survive. And the developers need to keep it fresh to keep people playing.
I play it as a Dino survival sim I explore eat , drink and hope to run into other Dino’s whether it be a friendly exchange or not. But it’s so hard to find people who are exploring and not hanging around hot spots in mix packs calling everyone they hunt names in global chat. I know there is community servers I played them for months but I don’t like all the rules and the people who constantly threaten to report you if you break a rule even by accident
I have plenty of ideas for the game but the one that more focuses on endgame is my nesting Idea. You have the basic stuff like starting as a hatchling and don't get sped through it like wild spawn, abilities/buffs for mates, and of course the eggs. But my idea borrows from ark and some of my own wacky ideas, first off the dinos that hatch from eggs either do or have the chance to be buffed in one of it's stats-
(For the uninitiated those are, Health, Attack, Armor/Defense, Land Speed, Swim speed, Combat weight, jump height, stamina turning, Food drain, Water Drain, Stamina drain and Regen, and the various heal rates for health, venom, and bleed.)
- in which it can be either a small(+1-5%) or large(+6-20%) buff depending on how the devs or possibly server owners want to run their game/servers. And coming into my development of this idea this can also unlock new abilities which can either remain unlocked or are offspring exclusive. Some examples I can think of would be a way for venom/bleed users to track their opponents easier, carnivores having the ability to equip or are born with strong jaws for option to have/strengthen bonebreak and hyperceration of their teeth to gain or strengthen bleed.
Caveats include no inbreeding, and only up to 3 - 5 generations of buffs/abilities before they start replacing each other or becoming much less significant. This all will give purpose to the endgame as to try and create the strongest family on the server.
For solo players there can be some abilities and effects to be added that make playing solo and not family building just as viable. This crosses into one of my other ideas but I will be brief and make it fit this nesting/family idea. A solo player ability would not apply or would be weakened for hatched dinos as solo players could spec into hunting/fending off/escaping the hatched. Or solo/1st generation players are able to get abilities through enough kills, quests, travel, or even wackier stats like distance fallen, bleed healed, or bones broken for their own special perks. This all leading to people fighting and killing only when they need to and making the survival aspects all the more important.
I would flesh this out and elaborate more as I know exactly how I'd make this work personally but this is a youtube comment, the devs and people in general really don't care about these lmao and will probably be forgotten in the next week. I would send my full idea to them if I knew how or they were receptive to it.
Tl:DR
Make nesting, make it mean something, and don't let it overshadow the people who want to play on their own or people who don't want to interact with this system.
Also add AI dinosaurs for god's sake this new system and the game as is would function a lot better.
I totally agree it's just turning into a just pvp and not remembering that it was supposed to be a survival game. Like get the A.I. in the game and change the quest up. Make it less pvp and more survival
That's the player base taking it to a pvp only game
Juvenile Dino progression should not be affected by deaths. It’s hard enough trying to grow up as a slow Dino, without a carnivore ripping you to shreds.
The only time this game should be worried about dying out is if The Isle goes to consoles, otherwise people will stick around especially if their only dino survival game that allows you to play as a dino is Path of Titans.
I agree, they need to stop nerfing everything just because it's good and people cry about it. I do say some needed a buff but never a perfect and please add AI. That would be so much fun!!
It's pretty much primal carnage at this point. Sandbox dino fighting game without humans.
For the overcrowding around a area, they could add a nutrition system for the hubs to space out players
For me an Elder System, where u can still progress that is connected with Trophies. U Level up in ranks. Each rank gives u 1 point. First level 1 trophy, level 2 - 2 etc. Then u have skillpoints to spend on smaller upgrades. It needs a system so u cant make progress from the same dino again, some deminishing system that is time dependent, so it cant be abused. You can not get any progress from your friends. This way there is something to win and loose and ur K/D ratio defines ur end points. You can spend them on really minor things. Weather and Day and Night System, where the weater and the night is "roaming" over the map, so u can chase the night or day or stay in ur location and let it pass through (would motivate nighthunter packs to move around).
The amount of time to grow on officials keeps me from playing more often than not.
I believe this is an unfair case to be made against them. They arent exactly a triple A company and they also have families to feed. My kids enjoy this game and thats all that really matters to me as far as a kids game goes.
Map is too big. All players are always at grand plan or impact crater ….. so boring…
Herbivores need nerf. No one afraid of carnivores literally herbivores hunt carnivores. I Miss the survival it just a PvP game. 😢
They need to add more to progression
, growth , quests and not to the balance leave balance for now and face the games biggest issue
The devs definetely lost their way... That's all i can say. The things i wanna see on Path of Titans are :
1. Functional AI dinosaurs, all size, from tiny one to apexes.
2. Delete map system and invent sniff mechanics that detect food around you.
3. Rework growth system into better, add passive growth based on the fullness of the dino hunger meter.
4. Rework all the quests because all of them are boring. We need interactive and interesting quests like migration as group quest, search and eat certain plants (for herbie) Ambush and hunt herbie in the migration zone (for carnie).
5. Nesting
6. Debuffs for mixpacking, cannibalism, and something to prevent body camping.
7. Special quest for adult dino. Maybe like, become alpha or elder.
I agree with most of everything that you're saying. But the PVP is the fun part when you get to an adult.
Totally agree with you. I love this game but it's becoming boring without PVP. I don't always want PVP, being able to attack an AI herd of Struthies would be awesome! I hope the Devs watch this channel and read the comments!
I can't get anyone to stay because the state of the game is just packs of KoS friends murdering anything that renders on their screen, and boring repetitive missions.
A shame because I love the feel of the game, the maps, the sounds.
It is basically PvP atm. You can’t avoid people. If you wander solo the pvp deeks find you and kill you with a pack. Last night was very bad. I ended up logging in my Eo and going and killing someone because I was just frustrated with the deaths. I died to a mega pack of raptors, but at least I killed something back. Annoying. I can’t play in my own way. The game is dictated by jerks atm. Griefing is the rule, not the exception. That can’t last.
Last night for me was really bad for me to everyone was getting KOSed
As someone who has never played the game and only recently decided to save up for it over its competators: All I want is Official Dilophosaurus.
The modded dilo is good solo and in groups and it's still balanced
If you want a jurassic call of duty, get this
If you want a dinosaur survival game, get the isle
@@diogopereira1475 I don't want either. I just want to walk around as a dinosaur.
@@HobGungan the isle still serves you best then
@@diogopereira1475 Yes, because one snarky RUclips comment is going to make me change my mind after doing 48 hours of exhausted research on three different games.
At least PoT has the option to walk around by myself and not have to deal with other people if I want.
The main problems of the game as for me: 1) you can't choose in server list the type of server (if it modded or not) and that's super uncomfortable cause I don't like mods and the only thing that left is to play on Auranea 2. 2) all the world is totally empty. As you said - all of the 100 players are fighting on the same spots. it's like 20-30 crocs in the river and the rest of the players are chillin on the crater. Super fun
bro i am so sick of people wanting more interactive quests .. i do not want to do fckin quest to level up .. id rather play a real mmo if thats what i wanted . i get that this easy acorn quest is ment to get people to the same places in a biome to fight ... i dont want to afk in a bush for 2 hours and i dont want to have to read a quest line or think about what i need to do for a quest .. so annoying to hear that .. the moment a quest gets harder than picking up acorns im out
I believe the should stop nerffing dinos like the rex. For example a rex is supposed to be a tank. But they should also buff certain dinos like the argomasurs it should be stronger than it is. They should also add ai dinos to single player so new players can get a feel for the game instead of having to jump straight into multi-player and not really having a chance.
For the official maps I wish they added a snow map with 2 new Dino and ai dinosaurs an nesting
Something that could be nice is to be able to temporarily claim territories and be able to have them contested or claim others.
I’ve suggested boss battles in the past for skins or unique items for your home cave.
An instanced area with an elder dinosaur of some sort. A grizzled old trike/Rex/a group of Albert that have been causing trouble etc. just something more MMO!
I just don’t understand why everyone is so damn lazy when it comes to this damn map seriously they just choose a spot and boom stay there like bro there’s a point of a game it’s not just to talk around and just fight each other in the same location there’s supposed to go explore survive hunt other people Pretty much just for games they just want to of course go to the main areas and I care about exploring but if if there was of course a rule for you to explore and if you stay in the same location for too long, you’ll have to be kicked out of that location at the farthest area away from it so you have to spend probably an hour or two to walk there
Definitely biggest problem I have is the fact like you said single player is pointless without A.I Dino’s and that is the biggest missing piece to this game.
Official servers are garbage because growing A Dino is nearly impossible combined with that fact that passive growth is non existent and growing in general takes waay too damn long.
I agree, a mission I'd like to see is once you hit adult you have to go fight a AI boss and depending what Dino you are is what you'll fight and the area to find it. Once you kill said boss you archive elderly with a increase of combat weight. Just when you die you go back to adult and have to rinse repeat to follow their current formula
I wish they just go back to the old rating system. Like when your are creating your Dino and it’s between Balance or +speed -defense or +defense -speed. I feel like that would be more simpler for New players to pick how they wanna play their Dino
If they actually inforced diets for the herbivores it would stop the whole problem of people staying in one spot
Quick feed back:
1.) Single-player needs fleshed out with ai dinos and better questing. Dino adjustments would be more obvious based off win rates of ai to player or player to ai.
2.) They can't do to much about toxicity without active moderation, and no one wants active moderation. We as a community need to use mute more often
3.) The game needs more life. There's no reason to travel the map unless you're questing and avoiding hotdpots
4.) Why add aquatic life if the aquatic world isn't fleshed out? No one wants to find mute blue star fish on the sea floor filled with blues and greens.
5.) Quit balancing dinos. Either decide if it's pvp or survival then balance dinos on the final pick. Maybe they chose pvp, but yet official is still too grimey with grinding to be pvp.
Those are my thoughts
I completely agree with you. When I was lil kid, I really liked dinosaurs, and I loved watching The Isle. One of my dreams as a kid was playing The Isle with my friends, but then Path of Tians came out for PS4, and I thought that, that was it. I could finally play the type of game I was wanted to play, but now that I think about it, what a thought to be a dinosaur survival game, is actually a PvP game. I haven't even thought about it, but now I see. It makes no sense to a lil feckin LATEN kill a FULL GROWN REX by HIMSELF. Makes no complete sense. It is a long way to get to adult, but then, when you get to it, The game just becames boring and you just don't know what to do but PvP. It's kinda sad. (If you have friends you might stick for a bit more). Like the game can be really fun, but then it just gets repetitive and you just get bored. I really like the game and I'm excited to see what's going to come on the next updates, but it is what it is.
(srry for the holy bible right there)
Finally someone get it.
Its just that not many people can play evrima smoothly because the game need high end PC to run smoothly on Epic and not everyone can afford that. PoT on the other hand, run smoothly on most of the device (PC, Console, even mobile).
It is their best selling point of PoT, but they wasted all of that trying to satisfy toxic kids. They focused only in combat aspect and neglecting other development
I just hate the questing. Because in MMOs, usually quests are linked to lore, characters, and the world is triple the size (think WoW,FF14, and ESO) so when all you have is collecting pinecones and you're only doing it for growth, not for story or anything interesting, it's just a chore. It's not skill-based, it's just mind-numbingly boring. I also don't like how customization and combat are linked by the same currency - so I have to choose to grind for hours for either a few new moves to stay alive, or a new skin so I can look different.
It's why I haven't played in forever, even if they added a new dinosaur I'd just be like, "well when I log on it's just collecting pinecones on a map where I don't see people for hours except in one hot-spot and then it's just a death match." Just wish there was something worth doing.
Kinda yes. Meg's venom doesn't work anymore, Metri turned into the official Yuty, herbivores are generally OP if you aren't a rex, official servers are horrible to play because you have to play ~12h to reach adult, and you won't even have enough money to buy abilities you need.
A pve mode with AI dinos would be very cool. They would need to be dangerous though. Like perhaps even do more damage than a player would.
Also a way to stash food would be cool. Perhaps you could bury it and it would slow the spoil time by a lot. Perhaps other players would be able to spot the buried food and steal it from you.
Also i'd like to see dinos not getting hungry or thirsty anywhere near as fast. The game feels like nothing but eating/drinking, doing like two quests and then having to eat/drink again with some dinos.
I normally stay away from popular areas. It gets boring seeing eveyone team on a soloplayer at crater. I normally play as ocean dinosaurs so i can hunt players near coasts on roleplay servers.
there should be an official realism mode. Maybe with smelling abilitys more Ai Dinos/quests and more Unique dino abilities so that any dino is a bit special in its own way
I've played this game since it originally launched on pc. It was advertised as more of a survival mmo. That's why I bought it. Now it's really just Dino death match with an inflated roster. Why tf do we need 16 mid tier Carnes that play virtually the same way?
The things I don't like about pot is the quest system currently is exceptionally boring, the nerfs have been almost completly bad, the hot spots are nightmares for people who legitimately what to quest and grow, the toxicity is terrible it really just is giving off a cod multiplayer vibe with how toxic and mean spirited people behave, the general stuff to do on the maps is very limited which is never fun, the growth times I feel should get overhauled because it doesn't make any sense how a Laten takes the same amount of time to grow as an eo or rex, for the last one the amount of players on the maps is not sufficient to the overall map size, I've gone for hours with out seeing anyone on max pop server. Now for the things I like about the game, the combat is very enjoyable to me, the exploration can be very fun especially with friends running off cliffs, the amount of good does actually out way the bad I feel sometimes depends on if your on a community or public server, some of the community's I've found are very nice, that is it for me, happy Thanksgiving to yall.
So in short I agree with everything simply amazing said in the video.
For over two years now I've been saying the same point and now I think other people are starting to say it and see it to, for as long as I've been playing this game i've seen the developers struggle to actually implement features promised years ago, and the longer the game goes on for the more lost they seem. Because PoT wasn't even really designed to be a survival game within the same vain as the Isle, they wanted to more create an MMO dinosaur game with a PvP focus. But they've attracted an audience that wants something different and with their implementation of the growth system it seems they're conflicted with being an MMO or a survival game and can't make up their minds. Part of the reason why they have had to spend so much time and resources on releasing nerfs or buffs now is because early on they rushed out half assed/baked dinosaurs with incomplete move sets just to fill their roster. And now it's biting them in the ass as they can't even release any new dinosaurs that even remotely enhance the game, I mean for Christ's sake eurhinosaurus is a let down and so simple that a mod team could probably get it out in three weeks and yet it took them and entire year just to get it out officially, at the very least they could've released Hatze with it given it was announced to be in the same pack as eurhino but alas here we are Hatze-less after a whole year. And typically i'd be more lenient with my critique but i've watched these developers fuck over their own game and brew up their own demise over the past two years of poor choices and prioritization just to attempt to compete with evrima of whom on the other hand are boutta drop Dibble, Dilo, and Herrera soon on their new map (of which looks gorgeous btw) so we'll see how it goes over as I haven't seen the isle community this hyped and with such a large player base in a very very long time
When they add 200 players it will force people to stay away from hotspots and will spread people all around the map
This game was meant to be a realistic dinosaur survival game but it’s becoming unrealistic and goofy, don’t even get me started on mods too
The AI dinos would change everything imo
yeah the end game in this game needs serious work, as well as questing or ways to earn growth.
"The T. rex is too strong" Just outrun the dang thing jesus christ
Everyone has a different opinion of what a game should be, so no game will ever be perfect. Therefore you can only truly judge a game on what the developer promised vs what they delivered. I think adding AI would be a nice idea, but I think they got the end game pretty spot on having all these abilities and being able to use them to fight. Going from no abilities to having all of them is a nice end game reward
Would be nice if carnies and solo players could feel good about playing. And that ado eos can't kill adult rexes that would be a nice fix
Eos shouldn't be able to run down a Rex
@@force179They definitely should. Triceratops was a fast animal and so was eo. They just need to make the rex able to fight back against the eo.
@@catpoke9557 Rex was also alot more agile irl but do u see that in game no
@@force179 Rex wasn't as quick as eo, though. That's my point.
@@catpoke9557 were ur proof they can chase down a Rex
Spino, Rex and croc are supposed to be the strongest animal in game and also Eo. There should be maybe an acquatic animal, ground animal and herbi maybe(?). I still dont understand WHY they left the charged bite on the Spino i mean... It was cool and makes a lot of damage. It was perfect...
In my opinion it's weird that they added megalania, since it did not live in the dinosaur periods. It lived when the very first sighns of human evolution. its not something I see as a character in the game because its not built to fight even raptors. Its nice verity but it doesn't fit in.
These devs have been talking about an Ai Dino for over 3 years soooo. Wish I read that from them before I purchased
yeah game is trash now
They should add grazing for herbivores. It’s stupid that I die because I can’t find berries when it’s basically foolproof that herbivores eat grass for the majority of the time. Make the berries and fruits buffs like berries give you 3% more hp or 5% less water drain for 5 minutes. Also they should focus on adding sauropods that don’t have buggy hitboxes. Argent is a mod and it’s very hard to kill anything unless it’s basically under your scrotum. Let us create herds with Ai, hunting Ai. Ai dinosaur that we can kill instead of joining a server only to sit down in crater and leave the map empty. BQL used to be the hanging spot, then GV now crater. I join as a herbivore just to eat berries and try to act as one nowadays. It’s so boring that even the ocean is empty.
Tbh, I’ve only seen bad players say they are quitting because it’s too hard for them to survive. Natural selection at work
Pounce update was huge on making bad players rage quit. Mostly apex players lmao
Yeaah adding different quests is super needed, or increasing growth or marks for traveling around and hunting. What is even the reason for a wild animal to collect flowers and lake sponge? Maybe have players collect branches and bring them back to hc as nesting material, and rewarding like 5x the normal quests. I also think easier travel, like using waystones as a solo player with no cooldowns, could cause players to want to go beyond ic and gp. They seem to focos on the wrong things. Taking bleed from spino doesn't really make me want to play the game more, sorry.
They should add a function that allows the player to fight or not because it is difficult for you to be a puppy and be attacked en masse by groups of dinosaurs
Woah upvote this. ❤❤❤ it'd be so easy, they could make a passive mode like gta where any dino that isn't subadult or older can activate it w a caveat that they also cannot attack anyone either til they turn it off w a cooldown so u can't exploit it
I was attacked by 3 Anodontosaurus 1 Styracosaurus 2 Kentrosaurus and2 Deynonic just because I was with my teenage Anodontus
What’s the point then of a dinosaur survival when carnivores can’t even hunt poeple
@@BCS09 to avoid mixpack kosers who literally exploit the game anyways regardless of the survival aspect
@@johnnyhorsewhale3116 I guess but if you play community servers then you don’t need it, official good shout
100% agree there is to little diverse quests and as beautiful as the maps are there's nothing to do, like give us a few AIs or let dinos build nests
also they should improve the movement, like as an adult dino I should get stuck on a small rock or branch
the combat system is still way to underdeveloped, they should implement combat action like knocking players over when running into each other and getting up again or bite and hold on on dinos where they're not able to move for a few seconds
advanced hitboxes and a more precise head aiming ability
overall it's a good base-game that lacks a lot of game mechanics
Personally,if i could i would add like an exploration tree where you need to find like all the biomes etc,for flyers it would be islands+mainland, for semis it would be ocean, riverbeds +mainland, for aquatics it would be ocean, riverbeds, for big dinos it would be only the mainland, while for small dinos it would be like find certain caves or something like that
I think game is ok right now but they have to add back spinos charge bite... i used to be able 2 v 1 rexes now i cant eaven get rex to less than half health...+ they have to add AI dinos it would make game better+ replay comes in next update i think
I think it's crap at the moment because.... well.... I mean, trex. It's rubbish. How is trex that bad!!! And it's just getting boring. Once you die you spawn on the other side of the map all you want to do is go to gp/ic. It would be better to be able to have AI in some of the less active areas
I hate the new ability for that stupid crocodile it shouldnt be able to grab able to grab full on anky and pull it in the middle of the lake or ocean and kill or drown it its so irritating
AI dinos/creatures must be in a game, not only in Solo/PVE mode. And i agree with your opinion for other topics.
I would like more dino variety on official servers.
I mean, not like for example the Drago/inspired dinos or fantasy dinos they added on mods.
But for example, giga, Quetzalcoatlus, Yuuty, those are part of the already existed dinos.
Or if not, I would like variety and fun move sets, quests, etc.
This game has a huge potential, I knew It as soon as I started playing it and I just got it the last week
I don’t play as apexes for this reason, I would spend the gruelling time growing it, just to be taken out by 2 raptors who can out manoeuvre me and out stam me. I used to play as the Rex until they nerfed the health, at which point stamina and speed was needed to compensate but it was never buffed in that and so the Rex just became a walking burger van
Nah they fixed the pounce update right away raptors were way too OP
I dislike the take that shouldn't nerf t rex because it is super strong and is the king of dinos, it doesn't feel very unique and king like when half a server just plays the same overpowered dinosaur, they need to incentivise players filling the lower tiers of the food chain, or add more AI options
I tried comming back after new update, but it is just weird, buff venom in one update to be usable, make it useless in the next. Add pounce that raptors really need to be fun and usable, in the same update adds skin ability that makes it obselete. It's weird, I lost all interest to try and play PoT again after that. Also questing is tedious, survivals aspects are non existant, you never have to worry about food or water, everything is plentiful.
