    I'm usually not a big fan of contemporary classical music, but one of its strong points is to highlight the range and versatility of instruments. This piece does that well.
    I would like to give a big compliment to the staff of the Frankfurt Radio Symphony responsible for both sound and video. The videos show off not only the conductor but several of the musicians. The sound is superb.
    Thank to all for providing these great recordings. I enjoy them immensely.

    I actually find the dissonances pleasing to listen to. It's a departure for me to enjoy contemporary music like this, but enjoy I did! One of my forever favorite pieces is Gorecki Symphony No. 3, so perhaps that's why I was drawn to listen to this piece in its entirety. Great excitement and energy!

    Es ist meine erste Gelegenheit, diese Sinfonische Dichtung anzuhören. Erstaunlich fein komponiert und wunderschön aufgeführt mit ein bisschen bedrohlichen doch perfekt entsprechenden Tönen aller Instrumente. Der intelligente und geniale Dirigent leitet das ausgezeichnete Orchester im veränderlichen Tempo und mit völlig effektiver Dynamik. Wahrlich hörenswert!

      Do you know Kilar's symphonic poem Muont Koscielec 1909? ruclips.net/video/TWamVACr240/видео.html Composed in tribute to Mieczyslaw Karlowicz. He was a promising composer and conductor. Unfortunately he was killed by avalanche at the age of 40 in Tatra Mountains in Mount Koscielec area. Discover Karlowicz. You will be suprised. Especially his orchestral works. I recommend in the beginning: Violin Concerto performed by Janusz Wawrowski on Stradivarius Polonia 1685: ruclips.net/video/71ZaWr-_qME/видео.html, Symphonic poem Lithuanian Rhapsody ruclips.net/video/BFZXDOlV1PY/видео.html , Serenade for Strings ruclips.net/video/RNxPMBVkjJc/видео.html and many others. Spannend, präzise Steigerung des Tempos bei schwungvoll komponierten Übergängen des Zusammenspiels von Solo- und Orchesterstimmen. Dominanter Auftakt, das Ende erinnert unweigerlich an Schostakowitsch.

    I wonder if the composer wrote every note for the woodwind from 13:57 on or if he just let the musicians play ad libitum with some indications.

    • @turangalila1862
      @turangalila1862 5 месяцев назад +1

      It is ad-libbed. I have the score, and he just writes a big squiggly line through the staves.

    • @jansnakowski7209
      @jansnakowski7209 2 месяца назад

      @@turangalila1862da squiggly line indicates an ad lib repetition of the of the musical material that was written out before. Is it the same with woodwinds? If so, the answer would be that it’s an ad lib repetition of notes that were actually written out.

      It's an inspiration by one of the regional Polish folk dance from Podhale (Krzesany is the name of this dance). Kilar was truly inspired by the folk culture of Tatra mountains and made it clearly sound in this masterpiece.

      Kilar is actually citing a real folk melody in this part, it is called "Do zbójnickiego, do zwyrtu’" and is taken from Stanisław
      Mierczyński’s collection "Muzyka Podhala" (meaning "Music of the Podhale Region"). It has the number 101 there, you can find digital copies of the collection online.

      Composers are not created equally. Apparently, still true. This is a cinematic work, although its unrelenting grimness is tiring, this is a major work. That said, this orchestra is brilliant.
