I really love Alhaitham's EN voice actor, but I think his delivery (at least when he was talking to Kaveh) was too ironic, and mean spirited at the start. Of course the fandom misinterpreted their relationship (everyoe thought Alhaitham was an asshole). Later down the line Alhaitham's EN voic actor changed his tone when he talks to Kaveh and become less ironic/mean spirited, sarcastic in his delivery (this happened around Parade of Providence)
Just as obsessed. Those two give me the feels. The beginning sounds actually quite resigned to me. Like he is tired of telling him again and again he shouldnt selfdestruct himself and Kaveh never listened anyway. I totally understand Alhaitham, even in game, I get why his word are turned biting and he sounds kinda mocking, because, for all my love I have for Kaveh, he is a quite toxic friend. We only saw them after knowing each other for years and Kaveh is giving me vibes that he always been like that, meaning Alhaitham had to watch the person he is closest to, hurt themself over and over again and nothing reached them. Honestly? I wouldnt have sticked around like Alhaitham. That he stopped showing honest concern after being dismissed or getting even screamed at for it, is a totally understandable reaction. (Alhaitham has obviously his own issues, but I really feel like many ppl far too easily make him out to be a bad person and put Kaveh on a pedestal, while I actually believe Kaveh is the one who really should rethink if nearly dying for some desert foxes is really worth it. For all his portrayal as selfless, he is actually a quite selfish friend.)

But I don’t think he’s toxic, I think proving himself, making everybody around him happy *is* his goal, he doesn’t focus on anything else but to please those around him. It’s self-destructive and it does more harm than good to people like Alhaitham who’s so close and interconnected within his life but I don’t think he’s downright selfish, at least not in the stereotypical kind. It’s what’s called selfish altruism, in which a person focuses on pleasing others and their primary motivation is to gain approval, avoid conflict, etc. despite their good intentions, it can cause a lot of unintended harm like make decisions that they believe are beneficial without considering their actual needs. It makes ignore their own needs, causing them to snap at loved ones, overcommit/overcompensate, neglect relationships, etc. but that’s just my own opinion though! I like your POV

Honestly, its nice to see someone who actually makes alhaitham be caring. So many people just assume he doesnt care about kaveh all that much by how they interact. But like. He took kaveh in to live with him, they aparently go out together quite often if sethos is a reliable source. This guy just doesnt show his feelings all that much
They say the same thing about Alhaitham not caring about the Traveler yet they couldn't be more wrong. A lot of people just have a poor grasp of the subtext and Alhaitham's true character.
Ya, if you read kaveh’s caracter stories it reveals that alhaitham does care for kaveh, and reveals that kaveh is a very self deprecating person who believes that he deserves every bad things that happens to him. He punishes himself constantly by leaving everything to chance cause if chance deals him a bad hand then that means he deserved it cause he feels so guilty about his dad dying and his mom falling apart. See how in the interdarshan competition he always flips a coin. Alhaitham KNOWS about kaveh’s mental state, that’s why they had a falling out in their academia days, alhaitham scolded kaveh for being so self sacrificial due to his martyr complex stemming from guilt, kaveh upon hearing this did not want to face the reality of alhaithams words. Alhaitham only acts like a bitch cause he KNOWS kaveh would feel guilty living at his house rent free, so he nags and gives him chores to alleviate that guilt and make kaveh mad at him instead of feel guilty. Alhaitham does this to ensure that kaveh would not run away to being homeless
2:37 the pattern with the alternating POVs being broken here is SO IMPORTANT TO ME. Kaveh getting “any day you’ll fall apart” and “I’ll reach you some way” as his “writings on the wall” which are both reminders to himself about his self destructive behaviors but more importantly alhaithams words that he refuses to acknowledge. So “I will be there soon” breaking the pattern can be seen as both him refusing his help, refusing to acknowledge Alhaitham’s feelings, or Alhaitham’s unspoken words of affection… I’m sick they make me sick
What hurts so much about Haikaveh, is how much mirror each other and know each other inside out. Alhaitham sees Kaveh's self destruction and guilt over his past, Kaveh sees Alhaitham's human part, past his careless attitude. It's no mistake that they live in the same home.
Actually...there is also a lore reason for why they live together that has nothing to do with their ship. It's because they are paralleling/symbolising Aether & Lumine in more ways than one.
I can imagine someone making a fanfic where Kaveh is trapped inside his room, battling with his problems and Alhaitham on the other side of the door trying to comfort him in someway. The last line "I hope I'll reach you some day, did you notice me watching over you?"

Yeah. Alhaitham does comfort Kaveh the only way he knows how to. He annoys Kaveh to push him out of his depression. This is the reason he buys ugly furniture. We also saw this at the end of the parade of Providence event. You had the chance to tell Kaveh about the death of his father, and Sachine's influence on him. But if you did that (as the treveler, Kaveh ended up in a very dark/depressed mood) If you let Alhaitham tell this to Kaveh, he immediately started annoying Kaveh, which actually took Kaveh's mind of his dark thoughts. ;P

He’ll annoy Kaveh and make him angry, because Kaveh’s guard is down when he’s upset and will tell Alhaitham what’s on his mind instead of hiding it-their own way of communication so to speak. “Not once did you share, pain you shouldered but bared. I think this perfectly sums up his perspective. Kaveh wanting to shoulder all the pain and prove to everyone that he can make it, and Alhaitham letting himself in Kaveh's life to show him that his life is worth more. In a way, it's similar to Aventurine and Dr. Ratio. Aventurine selfishly throws his life at danger to be proven useful to everyone around him, while Dr. Ratio aims to change his perspective in life.

I absolutely adore how you changed the lyrics just enough so that we can hear Alhaitham's voice but not so much that the original essence, the feeling of the original song is missing. Fantastic job! I love the lyrics you created for Alhaitham! They show how much he cares, loves and worries for Kaveh. I think it's impactful that the song is not about Kaveh being broken or too far gone to be helped- its instead a song about saving and healing him. I legit cried. This reminds me of the aftermath of the Parade of Providence where Alhaitham and Kaveh actually made up. right after that they seldom fight and just enjoy each others company and Kaveh being comfortable with Alhaithams companion.
Alhaitam utterly destroys Kaveh's doomed view in this song. First, he becomes writing on the wall, the inevitable thing Kaveh is ignoring: "I will be there soon --- the writing on the wall." He's saying he won't be ignored, he will come and he will help Kaveh. That that's Kaveh's real fate. And then again, at the end. "I'll rewrite your fate as writings on the wall." Now it's not a singular, proper noun anymore. It no longer sounds like the phrase, like that fate etched in stone! It's just "writings", like graffiti, made in ignorance and haste. Not to be paid any mind.

This is beautiful, I love how heartbreakingly beautiful writing on wall was and the fact that we now get an althaitham ver that shows how he sees everything kaveh faces and bottles up inside and chooses to be the one to be there for him has me bawling my eyes out at 2 am
It might just be me and everyone might already know but just want to say. Hearing back Kaveh ver, then back to Alhaitham's. then hearing their mix just shows how much of mirror they are and how each of them see one another. Kaveh, despite his bright, optimistic and carefree attitude with the bright colour schemes on himself, shows that someone as bright as him is not always bright and those brightness of him might be the danger to himself such as his self-destructive act. Kaveh sees his mistake as an imperfect and needs to perfect it, but the thing he perfected does not bring him safe, only harm and suffering. Point to his self-destructive, and him being trapped and feel like his mistake can never be solve as he think this is his fate. Alhaitham, despite the cold, stoic, and serious attitude with cold and sad colour schemes on him, shows that someone like him is not always pessimistic or destructive. Alhaitham is human, ordinary human, but never heartless being. He is human who knows if someone really hiding something, and he knows about Kaveh's self-destructive. He may poked fun at Kaveh and try to tease the hell out of his senior, that doesn't mean he didn't care. He sees Kaveh in his mess, he sees Kaveh at his worse, he sees Kaveh at his lowest... And he makes one thing to help him, give him shelter, give him part of his house as a roommate, he give Kaveh a place to call home. Alhaitham is the pillar to help Kaveh, physically and mentally. Alhaitham's role is to shows Kaveh his mistake is not forever, whatever he do is perfect from Alhaitham's eyes, and Alhaitham will help Kaveh to change his fate. Alhaitham see the bright and pride Kaveh is self-destructive and deppressed. While Kaveh see the stoic and serious Alhaitham is a human being and can express his feelings. Even back in GGZ days Kiana and Mei wore wedding dresses while professing their love for the player (who were mostly men). There were other self-insert interactions in HI3 too though tamer since they were gaining traction and censorship became more of an issue not just for queer ships but self-insert stuff as well. Which is likely why they removed the touch feature that allowed players to basically fondle the girls. Yes, even girls like Bronya. I honestly don't understand why such a huge part of this fandom regularly forgets what kind of game they're playing. The main reason you see so many implied queer ships is because they're popular among the otaku/Anime crowd + it keeps the opposite sex at a greater distance from the waifus/husbandos. Yet the playable characters themselves were always intended as companions for the players. It's really that simple.
@@sleepyghost9025 In case you think Hoyo doesn't multiship or is against it, for one, there was an innuendo in Genshin about Yelan, Ningg, and Beidou having a threesome. Aside from that, when you do Ei's quest at one point you chat about a romance novel with her (if you pick that choice). The story is about a protagonist who has several love interests to pick from which is a tough choice. Ei's solution is for the author to simply allow the protagonists to accept all love interests. So canonically, several Genshin characters are not against polyamory. Not to mention that in Sumeru of all places, a fortune teller reads Teaveler's fortune and sees countless people falling for them. Paimon agrees with this fortune, calling it accurate (and she said this before they ran into Dottore). Those who played Hoyo games for a longer time know they did this sort of stuff in their previous games too, not just with self-insert stuff but also teasing multiple love interests for the characters who aren't a proxy for the player. I really need more people to catch on because all this "my ship is canon" arguing is extremely pointless when all ships could be canon given the right circumstances. Hoyo isn't against it. They're not even against a polycule. At the same time, if people want to see certain characters as just friends or colleagues, let them. I highly doubt Hoyo would be against that either. In an in-game book, there is also a line that could be seen as meta commentary which states that no matter what the author (of the book) says about the relationship of the charactets the reader can have their own take on it. In short, take everything as you will. Chances are Hoyo won't mind as long as you like the characters and play the game.

Just as obsessed. Those two give me the feels. The beginning sounds actually quite resigned to me. Like he is tired of telling him again and again he shouldnt selfdestruct himself and Kaveh never listened anyway.
I totally understand Alhaitham, even in game, I get why his word are turned biting and he sounds kinda mocking, because, for all my love I have for Kaveh, he is a quite toxic friend. We only saw them after knowing each other for years and Kaveh is giving me vibes that he always been like that, meaning Alhaitham had to watch the person he is closest to, hurt themself over and over again and nothing reached them.
Honestly? I wouldnt have sticked around like Alhaitham. That he stopped showing honest concern after being dismissed or getting even screamed at for it, is a totally understandable reaction.
(Alhaitham has obviously his own issues, but I really feel like many ppl far too easily make him out to be a bad person and put Kaveh on a pedestal, while I actually believe Kaveh is the one who really should rethink if nearly dying for some desert foxes is really worth it. For all his portrayal as selfless, he is actually a quite selfish friend.)
@@sylphira9947 Absolutely I agree, Kaveh has little to no consideration to how people might react to his actions, which are often self-serving and or impulsive. But I don’t think he’s toxic, I think proving himself, making everybody around him happy *is* his goal, he doesn’t focus on anything else but to please those around him. It’s self-destructive and it does more harm than good to people like Alhaitham who’s so close and interconnected within his life but I don’t think he’s downright selfish, at least not in the stereotypical kind.
It’s what’s called selfish altruism, in which a person focuses on pleasing others and their primary motivation is to gain approval, avoid conflict, etc. despite their good intentions, it can cause a lot of unintended harm like make decisions that they believe are beneficial without considering their actual needs. It makes ignore their own needs, causing them to snap at loved ones, overcommit/overcompensate, neglect relationships, etc. but that’s just my own opinion though! I like your POV

Ya, if you read kaveh’s caracter stories it reveals that alhaitham does care for kaveh, and reveals that kaveh is a very self deprecating person who believes that he deserves every bad things that happens to him. He punishes himself constantly by leaving everything to chance cause if chance deals him a bad hand then that means he deserved it cause he feels so guilty about his dad dying and his mom falling apart.
See how in the interdarshan competition he always flips a coin. Alhaitham KNOWS about kaveh’s mental state, that’s why they had a falling out in their academia days, alhaitham scolded kaveh for being so self sacrificial due to his martyr complex stemming from guilt, kaveh upon hearing this did not want to face the reality of alhaithams words.
Alhaitham only acts like a bitch cause he KNOWS kaveh would feel guilty living at his house rent free, so he nags and gives him chores to alleviate that guilt and make kaveh mad at him instead of feel guilty. Alhaitham does this to ensure that kaveh would not run away to being homeless

Yeah. Alhaitham does comfort Kaveh the only way he knows how to. He annoys Kaveh to push him out of his depression. This is the reason he buys ugly furniture. We also saw this at the end of the parade of Providence event.
You had the chance to tell Kaveh about the death of his father, and Sachine's influence on him. But if you did that (as the treveler, Kaveh ended up in a very dark/depressed mood)

Alhaitham has always put down his walls with Kaveh, u see him act all poised, calm, nonchalant when you interact with him but the moment he makes a sentence mentioning Kaveh, he acts like a child with his bestfriend. He’ll annoy Kaveh and make him angry, because Kaveh’s guard is down when he’s upset and will tell Alhaitham what’s on his mind instead of hiding it-their own way of communication so to speak.

I like that when you mix both songs, it sounds like they are fighting, Like alhaitham wants to save kaveh, but kaveh ignores it, thinking that its okay, in kaveh's version, those voices may be alhaitham, trying to save kaveh from the writing on the wall.
I absolutely adore how you changed the lyrics just enough so that we can hear Alhaitham's voice but not so much that the original essence, the feeling of the original song is missing. Fantastic job! I love the lyrics you created for Alhaitham! They show how much he cares, loves and worries for Kaveh. I think it's impactful that the song is not about Kaveh being broken or too far gone to be helped- its instead a song about saving and healing him. Alhaitam utterly destroys Kaveh's doomed view in this song. First, he becomes writing on the wall, the inevitable thing Kaveh is ignoring: "I will be there soon --- the writing on the wall." He's saying he won't be ignored, he will come and he will help Kaveh. That that's Kaveh's real fate.
And then again, at the end. "I'll rewrite your fate as writings on the wall." Now it's not a singular, proper noun anymore. It no longer sounds like the phrase, like that fate etched in stone! It's just "writings", like graffiti, made in ignorance and haste. Not to be paid any mind.

This is beautiful, I love how heartbreakingly beautiful writing on wall was and the fact that we now get an althaitham ver that shows how he sees everything kaveh faces and bottles up inside and chooses to be the one to be there for him has me bawling my eyes out at 2 am
I was literally about to bawl my eyes out but then I saw the writing "instrumental break"and started laughing uncontrollably. I am not okay
It might just be me and everyone might already know but just want to say. Hearing back Kaveh ver, then back to Alhaitham's. then hearing their mix just shows how much of mirror they are and how each of them see one another. Kaveh, despite his bright, optimistic and carefree attitude with the bright colour schemes on himself, shows that someone as bright as him is not always bright and those brightness of him might be the danger to himself such as his self-destructive act.
Kaveh sees his mistake as an imperfect and needs to perfect it, but the thing he perfected does not bring him safe, only harm and suffering. Point to his self-destructive, and him being trapped and feel like his mistake can never be solve as he think this is his fate.
Alhaitham, despite the cold, stoic, and serious attitude with cold and sad colour schemes on him, shows that someone like him is not always pessimistic or destructive. Alhaitham is human, ordinary human, but never heartless being. He is human who knows if someone really hiding something, and he knows about Kaveh's self-destructive. He may poked fun at Kaveh and try to tease the hell out of his senior, that doesn't mean he didn't care. He sees Kaveh in his mess, he sees Kaveh at his worse, he sees Kaveh at his lowest... And he makes one thing to help him, give him shelter, give him part of his house as a roommate, he give Kaveh a place to call home.
Alhaitham is the pillar to help Kaveh, physically and mentally. Alhaitham's role is to shows Kaveh his mistake is not forever, whatever he do is perfect from Alhaitham's eyes, and Alhaitham will help Kaveh to change his fate.

Both of the songs are so beautiful. One about suffering and one about the person who has to go through the pain of watching the loved one suffer. But ultimately building up the courage to stand beside them
This is why i love their lore, genshin and the fandom did some really good job in putting their stories together

Hoyo as a (I am pretty sure) Chinese company can't canonize them being together with words due to censorship in their country, but they will do what they can to by pass it in the ways they can (ex; Alhaitham and Kaveh having 2 about me's of each other, or the TCG art of them together with matching colored candies, or their constellations matching, or their attacks being matching as well, there's a lot that hoyo has done to make them as official as possible without getting in trouble themselves)

How can you play a gacha that is known for catering to simps and think it's a proper BL? Also Kaveh and Alhaitham have symbolic ties to others as well, most notably Kaveh to Nilou. And it's like that with pretty much every character since Hoyo multiships.
So no, Alhaitham and Kaveh are not an exclusive "as good as canon" couple you seem to think they are. Even back in GGZ days Kiana and Mei wore wedding dresses while professing their love for the player (who were mostly men). There were other self-insert interactions in HI3 too though tamer since they were gaining traction and censorship became more of an issue not just for queer ships but self-insert stuff as well. Which is likely why they removed the touch feature that allowed players to basically fondle the girls. Yes, even girls like Bronya.
I honestly don't understand why such a huge part of this fandom regularly forgets what kind of game they're playing. The main reason you see so many implied queer ships is because they're popular among the otaku/Anime crowd + it keeps the opposite sex at a greater distance from the waifus/husbandos. Yet the playable characters themselves were always intended as companions for the players. It's really that simple.
@@sleepyghost9025 In case you think Hoyo doesn't multiship or is against it, for one, there was an innuendo in Genshin about Yelan, Ningg, and Beidou having a threesome. Aside from that, when you do Ei's quest at one point you chat about a romance novel with her (if you pick that choice).
The story is about a protagonist who has several love interests to pick from which is a tough choice. Ei's solution is for the author to simply allow the protagonists to accept all love interests. So canonically, several Genshin characters are not against polyamory.
Not to mention that in Sumeru of all places, a fortune teller reads Teaveler's fortune and sees countless people falling for them. Paimon agrees with this fortune, calling it accurate (and she said this before they ran into Dottore). Those who played Hoyo games for a longer time know they did this sort of stuff in their previous games too, not just with self-insert stuff but also teasing multiple love interests for the characters who aren't a proxy for the player.
I really need more people to catch on because all this "my ship is canon" arguing is extremely pointless when all ships could be canon given the right circumstances. Hoyo isn't against it. They're not even against a polycule.
At the same time, if people want to see certain characters as just friends or colleagues, let them. I highly doubt Hoyo would be against that either. In an in-game book, there is also a line that could be seen as meta commentary which states that no matter what the author (of the book) says about the relationship of the charactets the reader can have their own take on it.
In short, take everything as you will. Chances are Hoyo won't mind as long as you like the characters and play the game.
