    Nice review Dan. Seems like a nice synthetic option at a decent price point.

    I have been using a monster mat for about 6 months now…I’m not completely happy with it…a few reasons. 1. The green residue and flakes…it gets on you club and if you use a LM like a SkyTrak, it gets all over the lenses and needs to be constantly cleaned. 2. Not sure about the resistance and material…I have a really tough time hitting consistently off of it. One time, I went to my swing coach and we worked on regular turf on the range and I had none of the same issues…then returned to the mat, got the same issues…then went to a fitter to get fitted for irons…he had the same SkyTrak I had but not the same mat and I had no issues hitting off his mat…very odd….I may swap out the mat and see if that makes a difference.

      What ever happened with this mat?

      @@thegoalnet5915 I still have it…I’ve done some more thorough testing…it was interesting…So, even though I used other mats that didn’t seem to have the same issue, when the weather finally got nice and I was able to hit outside, the Monster was closer to the real thing than the other mats! In other words, I was hitting it like crap!!! Turned out, I really needed to focus on the club’s turf interaction….I was using T200 irons an then T100s irons….the T100s irons were much better for me, but then I bought a set of Mizuno JPX 923 Hot Metal Pros and had the turf interaction issues again…so, purchased a set of Mizuno MP 221s with a much thinner sole and a ground down leading edge and BINGO! Great interaction with the Monster Mat and same on real grass…Never really knew how important the sole width and turf interaction was…I played players irons most of my life as a 10 HCPer and thought by getting a more forgiving player distance/game improvement iron, I would score better…and it turned out not to be the case!

      @@petegalindez9961 dude, that’s hilarious. We might be golf soul mates. I just moved down to T100S with T100 lofts from a T200 / T100S combo set because the gave improvement features were cause inconsistent distances for me 😂. Overall, you’re happy with Monster Mat then and would recommend it? What other mats did you try?

      @@thegoalnet5915 I just tried the EZ Tee hybrid strip…it’s great, BUT because of how thick it is, you need to be able to build up around it. The mats I have aren’t thick enough and the work to build them up to get the right thickness is too much work…

      @@petegalindez9961 dude, that's the other 5 x 5 I am looking at! haha. This is crazy, so you like the Monster Mat vs EZ tee and that's what you've been using?

    Nice review! Would you use it outside?

      I think so. They make a commercial product for ranges that doesnt seem to differ much and holds up really well.

      I use the Monster Mat outside…not sure I’d do the same with the EZ Tee given the internals of it…seems rain could easily get all soggy inside of it…but, others may know.

    How would you compare this to a FiberBuilt or a Truestrike?

    • @THPGOLF
      @THPGOLF  2 года назад +1

      Different. We have used Fiberbuilt in the Tech studio for several years. As we mentioned this is going to fall more into the less expensive and structured than one of those. But in that less expensive category it was decent.

    This Matt is terrible... I have one and all I ever do is put crap all over my clubs and chunks all over the mat and into my impact screen

    Don't buy this mat : I did and while it is very nice to hit from . It leaves the green material all over your clubs, shoes and whatever else you happen to set on the mat . You also have to use some elbow grease to remove the material off the sole of club .It gets in my groves . I have emailed the company several times / no response. Spend the extra on Real feel or something . Very disappointed
