I just practice on carpet. I use beer coasters as target holes. If you can consistently roll the same line and length then your technique is good. Reading greens is another topic...
I roll putts on a 6' mat almost every day. I try to get to the practice green when the weather allows at least once a week. My putting is decent, but there is room for improvment. I think working on chipping and pitching is equaly important to lower your scores, and thus your handicap index.
I have the Perfect Practice Roll-a-Putt due to needing something small and easy to tear down and put away. It’s not perfect but great to get some putts in and easy to set up and tear down. And I got it on a sale for $65 so can’t beat that.
Thanks for the video Sean. I ordered a Puttr and it should be delivered any day now. It hit all the marks I was looking for and you mentioned. Keeping me entertained and fun for the whole family. Plus I love data. More data please!!! Thanks again!
I've had the Perfect Practice mat and the Puttout mat. I much prefer the Puttout. The Perfect Practice one seemed too fast to me, hated the printed grass pattern. I feel the puttout rolls more realistic and is easier to store if you don't have a place where you can leave it out.
Great video! I feel like another consideration is whether you want to pack it up/how easy it is to setup between sessions. I like my BirdieBall, but since getting an ExPutt RG, I find myself rolling it the most - if you haven't tried it definitely give it a shot. Being able to practice 15-50ft indoors is amazing.
Totally agree on the ease of setup. For instance, the Big Moss mat is solid, but the whole setup/takedown process with all the extras is too cumbersome to want to do on any regular basis.
My favorite mat is the WellPutt 13-foot. I use it every day! The greatest investment in my game I have made. Game changer. I would not buy any other mat. 5 STAR putting mat.
I have the perfect practice mat and I love it however I am seriously considering the ExPut it appears to be what launch monitor is for the rest of your golf bag but for the putter. And yes you can geek out on all your data numbers just like the Bushnell/GC Quad anyway I would love to get your opinion on it thanks
I opted for one of the ones you didn’t review, the BirdieBall Classic. Things I like about it are it is 4 foot wide and allows me to stand on it but it can be purchased in a variety of widths. The roll is extremely true and so is the speed. Although they sell a bag to store it, mine stays down 24x7, 365. I would not recommend it for people with pets as I believe their toenails or clause could damage to the surface. Since I got mine they haves produced other models that are good both indoors and outdoors, and are perhaps more durable for those that need thst
My wife also hates mine, and will passive aggressively set up her massage table on it just to wind me up, makes me want to look at the Prime, Puttr, and ExPutt
I'd be interested to know how the Birdie Ball mats stack up to these. I like that they have two different stimps depending on which direction you are putting. I've never used one, which is why I posed the question.
@@Andyvg99 Yeah I just picked up the Perfect Practice XL a couple days ago before seeing this video and don't really have any complaints. Rolls smooth, maybe a little fast compared to what I actually play on, but helpful to get more consistent with line and power.
True - but on average a scratch golfer has 1.5 more 1 putts per round, and 1.3 less 3 putts a round than a 10 handicap. That equates to 2.8 strokes out of the 10 strokes diff. Relative to a 20 handicap, the scratch golfer has 2.3 more 1 putts, and 2.7 less 3 putts (5 strokes of the 20 strokes diff). Data from SG will say the fastest way to lower your scores is to get better off the tee and with your irons, and only does putting start to really take off in the sub 10 category - but is definitely part of an improvement plan.@@whaleshark2625
Bought the big moss….could not get it to lay flat.,.they said put it in the sun…noting worked, I sent it back
Have been using my perfect practice mat for two years now and my putting has improved two fold. my kids as well!

Need to have a look at the wellputt lineup. I reckon you'd find it a good mix of most realistic and best practice aid
The exputt RG is also worth a look
💯 I have one , it’s expensive but it’s basically the equivalent of a Garmin R10 for your putting , great piece of kit, use it everyday

Yeah it's great for that, and cant beat it at that price!

Nice! I think you're going to love it, I've been very impressed.
Honestly, Puttout has one of the best because it is carpet like. Very easy to clean, can wipe to simulate grain, and rolls up tight and small.
The WellPutt 13' putting mat is the one I use. I find its the best bang for the buck with very realistic speeds.

The PuttOut AirBreak due out next month looks very cool. Thanks for this video Sean....looking to get one of these soon.
That looks awesome, will definitely try and get one for review!
Puttout airbreak looks really nice. A bit pricy though.

Will let you know if I'm able to test it out!
Thanks will be on the look out for it

surprised no wellputt mats have been recommended. I'm on my 2nd and is very good quality. Better than puttout which I found too slow.
Well putt pro is nice
May I ask what stimp speed you tested for Prime Putt?
Anyone tried the birdieball?

I like my Big Moss, although the wife doesn't appreciate it in the kitchen. 😂 I don't have a lot of room in the house, so the kitchen it is🤷♂️
Bigmoss makes awesome mats

@@3ARCBA I was also looking at a backyard putting green, downside is the cost.

Will update the written review when I've had a chance to test one!
Missing exputt in the list mate.
PrimePutt is the only one worth while. Everything else is just putting on bumpy carpets. That's not helping your game
I find that well putt helped my game. The distance control has helped my putting. And getting it on line has improved as well.
I don’t agree. I have a Perfect Practice mat and it’s perfectly smooth. No bumps at all.

Still helps
@@scottsimmons2665 eating diet chocolate still helps a diet…
We’re missing the point here
The greens I play on are as good as any of these reviewed.
Rain has destroyed local greens
Green at practice facility worst shape in 10-yrs
The Prime Putt delivery fees are crazzzyyyy, so thats a no from me.
What fees?
Birdie ball is nice! You should make a review on it
I like my birdie ball with the break kit. Would be curious of your opinion of exputt vs the one you did review
No Birdieball?
No exputt?! Anyone who's looking to improve should definitely check that out as well. Excellent putting sim.
No Birdie Ball?
Is the point of this video only to hear you ramble on?
The fastest way to lower your scores is not to improve your putting...but having practice putting greens at home can only help!
Depends how many strokes gained you're losing to putting.
