Imagine letting us hear the table talk and not talking over them.
thank you so much
I liked when he specifically said he would stop talking so we could hear the table talk, and then the second Ivey said one word he talked over him.
nah these commentators have big ego. they feel too special to stfu
I know right? I was about to say the same thing. 🤣
Imagine bitching about free content.
Who cares about the exchange after Ivey folded? We'd much rather hear the commentators blather about nothing.
" I wAs TaLkiNg toO ToNY 1-oN-1, No OnE wAs ArOuND! NO PC!!! & hE sAiD..." .. STFU mate!
Very annoying
Went straight to the comments to see who felt the same
Well said. Triton should hire NA NO NO KO together w/ Rotterdam instead of commercial never ending talk machines like JG and Boys&Girls-Kilbane.
Ali Nejad is a true artist w/ words imo, together w/ King rast or Randy, Nick Shulman ... PG and even wayback when, always topnotch.
Painful
It would be awesome to actually hear the conversation between Phil and Tony. Appreciate the insight from the commentators but the chatter between these two is definitely gold.
Yea agreed rip mike sexton he would have let us hear them
These commentators are trash.
But they got to make us know that they are friends with Ivey!
I don't appreciate 'insight' when we can all see the cards.
one of the biggest commentator curses is thinking its' all about them and they need to be talking at all times, sometimes the silence is as important the word vomit
Tony’s respect for Ivey is just so evident. He’d have talked Hellmuth into making a bad call there easily.
Yeah lol or called the clock
If Ivey paraded around like he is the best ever of all time he would get the same treatment as Hellmuth, but he is smarter than that.
Ivey doesn't tell everyone he's the best in the world. There's nothing to mock
I'm All in blind Phil, I haven't looked. The people at home know I haven't looked. LMAO remember that
@@2hot4u68 yeah but he definitely looked and like had him drawing dead. Wasn't it from premier league?
Miss the days of Mike Sexton, Vince van patton, Gabe Kaplin, etc. commentating. They helped grow the game to the masses. These guys are brutal to listen to.
Love Gabe
Gabe was hilarious
Agreed. They suck.
I picked up PokerGo just to listen to Gabe again on the new High Stakes Poker seasons. Although now there's too many unnecessary constant breaks in the action and short interviews. Also not as much good table talk as before.
Gabe yes. Sexton is awful.
sometimes you just want the commatators just to stay quite in these moments. Especially when they are not directly talking about the hand
exactly, especially right after the fold.
Quiet*
Ya and they talked over Ivey asking Tony if he had 77! Are you kidding me?
you know when ivey stares blankly and his mouth is open he's going to make an amazing play
Haha
lol
Seen it many times, Its like he goes into fly catcher mode with the gormless expression, then does the most impressive plays.
Exactly
Lmaoooo too true
Let us hear when they talking amongst themselves, don't talk over them.
I 2nd that statement.
Ivey never goes in the tank, would have loved to hear 2 legends talk.
Ridiculous commentary
To understand this hand turn the sound off and watch the hand unfold. Listening to these guys is like picking up your brother from a bar at 4am and listening to him prattle all the way home!
Where’s my fucking money!!!!!
🤣😁
@@laravelisbullschitt3281 god I hated that episode :)
"If you read my poker strategy, I tell everyone, never NEVER overplay KingJack!" .. Ivey felt Tony's powah
This comment is the nuts
He qualified
But always call with Q 10 hunny
I thought of that quote as soon as they got dealt their cards. Classic Tony G moment.
"I played it like a set. Even I thought I had a set!"
For the people complaining about the commentators talking over the banter:
Phil asks if Tony had 77. He replies "Somewhere around there." And they both laugh because 66 is indeed around there.
a bit more than that
and the commentators should have reacted to how amazing that comment by Ivey was. ffs.
Um obviously, because there was a 6 on board lol
@@josephj1973 there was a 7 too
@@Mrbananaice17 i think there were some other cards as well
I'm so glad I got to hear some random guy speculate about the hand while Ivey and Tony G were talking. Great stuff. Thanks for your thoughts random guys
Tony G & Phil Ivey. Absolute Legends in the Poker world..
One legend and one notable figure
@@JackWelsh34 agreed, Ivey is only notable imo
@@bradleylittle1469 u mad?

legend, singular
When Ivey stared down Tony and Tony gave off a genuine smile that’s when Phil convinced himself he was infact beat.
How the hell you know what that man is thinking? You guessing
No he is right I seen it also.
He also looked down and noticed Tony had a huge bulge in his pants. That was the final nail in the coffin.
The commentators are so horrible. Not only in this clip but the whole live stream.
Later when Tony finally shows some table talk they totally act out, instead of being glad, that it's not robots playing.
Really sorry to say this, but the cash games with a lot of table talk and little but high quality commentary by Lex feel like a whole different production level. These commentators can't be quite for 10 seconds.
Kassouf is a loser. But his talk game is breathtaking to watch. Always toward the edge but within the bounds of decency. Unlike how Tony gets.
Quiet*
Can you guys shut up for 2 seconds? Absolutely horrendous. Especially at the end when Ivey and Tony g were talking to each other. We all as viewers want to hear these 2 legends interact. Utter frauds. Thumbs down. Thumbs up for Ivey though.
Would be nice to hear the table talk and not these two just rambling on and on
One of the guys rambling on and on is the best Short deck player in the world so I think he's entitled to have his ramble.
@@liamcoyle7401 😂 for real, these casuals disrespecting the goat J-Koon likes he’s some random.
yes agreed.... that's why people watch
@@liamcoyle7401 Real easy. When player is talking, announcer shouldn't talk. Stop immediately.
@@liamcoyle7401 nah. don't care. he should shut up
Nothing worse that commentators who can't stfu and let us hear the table talk after the hand.
Phil Ivey is truly an inspiration to watch.
Not anymore. He is overrated. Nowadays, top poker players run circle on Ivey.
@@michaelss1294 agree
100%
It's an easy fold. What do you think Tony shoved with there? 😅
Love the content. but i prefer less commentator talk in these tight spots and with the table talk.
No talk from these commentators. It’s jarringly bad. Makes me think they’re on the spectrum or something.
When Ivey is in the zone he's on another level.
He read Tony G's poker strategy, "Never overplay KJ, YOUR CAREER IS GONE , GONE GONE."
HE PLAYED IT LIKE A SET!! EVEN I THOUGHT HE HAD A SET!! HE PLAYED IT LIKE A SET!!
Anyone will tell you he played it like a set! You play it like a set, it IS a set!!! You gotta fold these hands....
Everybody talks about how Ivey folded, but Davies folded the same hand before the Jack appeared on the River, give him some credit
Come on that spot is an easy fold
Always a cringelord in the comments like you
What credit? If u gonna call with KJ then u hit a k u gotta atleast peel off 1 more personally i can't see that being a winning play in the long run
Commentators absolutely need to shut the hell up when Tony g and Phil Ivey are in a massive hand and talking
hey dummie commentators... you TALKED OVER ivey and tony g AFTER ivey folded and we COULD NOT HEAR the table talk!!!
All i heard was Tony say "Set" and ivey was like "7's?" and Tony replied "one of them" and then they both grinned.

Phil folded because it's a tournament. but if it was a cash game he would be calling and they'll be running it twice.
@@dogpoker123 I understand that, my point still remains that 95% of people are snap calling in that spot tournament or cash.
For anyone who didnt hear, Tony told Ivey he had a set. Then Ivey asked "7s?" and Tony laughed
Im pretty sure he said " some of that" and then he laughed. Gr8 to see these guys play with good sportsmanship after so many years.
the convo didnt finish there

Personally, I'd prefer more ambiguity in the title. Something like "Can Phil make the soul read in insane hand?"
Best guess on the table talk starting from Phil's fold at 7:58
TONY: "Good."
PHIL: "Good?"
TONY: "If you threw queen king away."
PHIL: (shakes head, no)
TONY: "A set."
PHIL: "You have a set?"
TONY: (nods slightly, yes)
PHIL: "What, sevens?"
TONY: "Around that."
(both laugh)
TONY: "Around that."
PHIL "Strong hand."
TONY: "And a good laydown, queen king, if you had that."
nice to see the old school boys still killin it
People are really hating on Rast and Koon as commentators? Having them give insights for free is a huge gift.. not sure what you guys are on about tbh
8:47 of commentators talking about nothing
Tony looks great and such a great interaction between him and Ivey, this was awesome to Watch !! And this table had many legends!
it's weird that he is 48 and Phil is 45, Phil looks more like 35 and Tony looks like he's 60
That’s another level of thinking from Phil Ivey. He’s still got it.
Tony is allergic to KJ and it always reminds that popular moment every time someone plays KJ against Tony.
you call an all in with KJ? you are a disgrace
"Bring on the Russians!" 😁
the dude thinks of every possibility and his intuition is right....alot!
Best poker is when accurate soul reads are combined high level logical analysis/deductions.
Tony G played it like a set
ask Yani, he's a Pro!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
"Even I thought it was a set"
Hehe. Ivey won that tournament Tony G played it like a set in 2005 in spectacular fashion
Tony G actually respects Phil Ivey.
Watching Phil make a decision for what seems like forever
Finally someone standing up to Tony G’s fake Maniac Image. Dudes been milking that for 25 years and he’s the most solid TAG on earth
Where's the mute button on these guys?
The quietest I've ever seen Tony G. during the hand.
Great read because Tony wasn't giving away anything and Phil knows Tony has respect for his game (not bluffing). He broke down all the factors and knew he had to fold. Awesome hand.👍🏾
Respect isn't not bluffing
he was giving away everything. he looked comfortable af
"If the runout presents the right card, he's probably gonna do the thing"
What would we do without these sage commentators
Would have been nice to hear the table talk!
Title: INSANE SOULREAD! Commentators: ehh I think it’s a reasonable fold.
99% of players would have been out of the tourney. What a lay down
Just my opinion but I think Tony let Phil pick up a vibe about a minute in when they were laughing friendly. After that it was all Hollywood for Phil.
Tony G played it like a set.
I’m glad I never have to worry about Ivey sitting down at the same table as me.
Phil Ivey the best player all time
helmuth got more bracelets though xD
@@xCwieCHRISx hellmuth is a tournament player, he is a fish in cash games

@@xCwieCHRISx hellmuth Is a terrible cash game player and Ivey made him quit on sessions of high stake poker. The WSOP is not the only tournament in the world. Ask yourself this question if hellmuth is so great why he never plays in the high stake tournaments because he can’t compete.
Ivey is overrated
The amount of change of appearance throughout the years for these poker stars are pretty interesting.
Phil has read Tony's book that says "Never overplay KingJack!"
One of the dudes calling this game is in love with Phil Ivey.
Tony G & Phil I remember watching them all the time now they getting old which means I am and I don’t nothing with my life 🙃
lmao my mans at the start sounding like he want to debrief the game to phil over a glass of wine
That's not a soul read, that's "not risking your tournament life with a Bluff catcher" Don't forget, this is short deck. Sets are more likely
draws are also deadlier, so a straight draw that picked up a flush draw (the bottom of tony's range) would have a ton of equity. hold'em players don't understand "betting your draws for value" lol
Yeah but there are quite literally only two hands that beat Phil here - set it 7s or set of 6s on that board. Preflop action provided Tony doesn’t have jacks or kings, very unlikely chance of that. No straights or flushes out there, just draws. Phil made an absolute sick lay down for having what is pretty much the best hand like 80% of the time lol.
@@yoyert6526 in short deck, draws get there more often. it's not so much what's beating phil, it's what is phil up against EV wise. in holdem, this decision is kind of a snap (calling, not folding lol). in short deck, phil could have an overpair or two pair & not be a favorite over a straight flush draw (assuming phil's pair/s don't share suits). think of this as an omaha hand & it makes more sense.
That's not a bluff catcher?😂 especially against a player like Tony g. He does that with any versatile draw on the board so more often than not he's actually bluffing there
@@gpet-dr2bs that's thing: in holdem he's semi-bluffing with those draws, in short deck he's betting his draws for value...in addition to potentially having the sets that crush phil =/
Good to see Tony G worked on his weight. He's not a fatty anymore
I want to se the Tony G and helmuth show again.
If this was online it would be a super easy call. It's clear he got some kind of live read. Nice fold.
Great hand, but commentators seem more interested in talking about how much they know Ivey than observing the hand and adding anything of value.
Sometimes, just shut the f up.
This is from long stream,so it is fine, they cant talk about strategy all the time coz it gets boring for casual audience.
@@user-ly5oo2hd7p Yeah but professional commentators should have the intelligence to shut up and respect the action when something interesting is happening.
For example, in football (or Soccer for Americans), commentators might chat about background info among themselves, but when something happens on the pitch, they describe the action and react to it.
Can you imagine sports commentators talking about the time they met Ronaldo or Messi instead of commentating on the action when Messi or Ronaldo scores a goal?
Fucking hell what a sick fold especially turning 2 pair
Man the commentators should really be quiet when 2 legends are table talking that's annoying...
i was gonna comment i wouldve liked to hear the table talk between tony g an phil over the commentaters but i see EVERYONE ELSE FELT THE SAME WAYYYYY!!!!

Bryan rasp and Jason koon are one of the best players of all time and there insight about the goat is priceless.
Godamn Tony G’s AP is cleeeeean
Clean man!
I thought I understood poker a little but I cannot imagine folding this hand. I'd love to hear his thought process.
Nits
Great hand ruined by terrible commentary 🤦🏻♂️
Terrible commentary? You are such a fish. You had 2 of the greatest players in Koon and Rast speaking some strat and opinions and you thought it was terrible commentary? Wanna play heads up for rolls? You clearly do not work on your game at all with a comment like that. I could listen to Koon and Rast share thier thoughts on hands all day everyday.

The one that needs him to "protect her"
Yes, this was Poker Night in America, I think. Great season!
This is like watching a concert and having commentators talking over the music about the musician's stories.
I'll never fold in that spot holy shit. IVEY GOAT

Love when Koon commentates, insane knowledge for the game, knows when to allow table talk and a calming voice.
wish he'd not have the skill set to go toe to toe with GOAT's and full-time commentates xd
Were you watching a different clip than I?
He’s a terrible commentator. He needed to shut up several times in this clip but no he loves the sound of his own voice.
Commentator really loves to hear himself talk about stuff that’s not pertinent to the hand, enough to talk over the players
This was a pretty easy fold. Of course Tony could be bluffing, but this was a 3-handed pot and Tony reraised all-in and with someone still left behind him. If this was a heads up pot, I think Ivey would have had a real decision to make. But 3-handed, Tony's move is just too strong to be bluffing there.
Of course, Mr Poker expert
Man you are too good I mean you are definitely much better than Mr. Ivey.
LOL "easy fold"....right
shut your mouth you probably play 5$ tournaments
Tony G and Ivey …Holi moli
Did Tony G take a chill pill? Haven't watched him for a bit but he is so calmer.
He is not only the best but good looking now as well.😇
I came here to see Phil Ivey and Tony G but couldn’t hear a word they said. Commentators feel like they’re the center of attention but really it’s the players.
I turn the volume down when Rast is announcing
Once Ivey folds no one cares about the commentating. Let's hear the pros discuss the hand!
THE BEST!!!!
At the end, Tony confesses it was a set. And Ivey asked: "what, sevens"? And Tony said something but impossible to hear :) But finally what a great fold.
Tony g looking thin
To be honest... You really don't need commentary for poker. It's a waste of a bosses money. And be brutally honest I rather hear poker chips shuffling than a voice over the game
Phil was probably afraid of the speach he would get from Tony if he called with KJ.
I just came from a video from the big game where tony g bullys andrew robl whenever he thinks more than half a minute to make a decision but here vs ivey hes waiting like 5 minutes or so and not a single word.
