    Best I have heard in years; I saw him play with Ozzy back in 1986. I saw tons of concerts and Jake was magical.

      1986 - Saw them with Metallica when they were on their Damage Inc tour at Long Beach Arena in CA. The music at that time was literally exploding with hundreds of top notch bands in just about every genre one could imagine. Pirate radio....Headbangers's Ball....long hair....locked in a room playing endless hours everyday trying to become the next rock hero. Life as a teenager doesn't get much better!

    It's just me but in my honest opinion, I always thought Jake E Lee was the best guitarist that Ozzy ever had, Jake really knew how to put a song on guitar, the guitar work by Jake is very good he's not just using simple power chords, 80s Metal used a lot of melodies, it wasn't just noise. Or strumming the same two or three power chords, great work by Jake E Lee. Good Job sir!

      That's why Ultimate Sin is my all time favorite Ozzy record. As I grew as a guitarist I really began appreciating all the guitar work Jake put into that album. If you listen to it, and REALLY listen to it, there's so many little fills, micro riffs, just so much going on it truly is incredible.

    Outstanding! I saw Metallica (with Cliff!) open for Ozzy on the Ultimate Sin Tour. Fifth row! Jake E. Lee is one of my favorite 80s shredders, because he's so melodic and creative. "Shot In The Dark" is one of the best tracks on that record and you really nailed it. Nailed the tone, too!

    Wow dude. Nailed it. I think this is one of Ozzy's best songs prior to Wylde-era - and Jake E. Lee's masterful playing on this song with all the tasty fills and rhythms make it just incredible. The song has an urgency and cryptic feel that is indescribable.

    Now you're in my zone. I was 16 and just got my license. My parents got me an 81 Z28 Camaro for my 16th Bday and the first thing I did was rip out the factory stereo and put in an Alpine deck, Alpine amp/graphic eq with 6 Alpine woofers, 6 mid range and 4 tweeters. It was a glorious thing to behold. The first thing I played was this CD and this song The album had only been out for a few months. Every time I hear it I get that feeling again. Heading to pick up my girlfriend for a bonfire party at the quarry we hung out at. Damn, I miss those days. And this cover is just killer. That's worth a like and sub.

    All most people know is Randy’s name and playing but as awesome and groundbreaking as he was his playing and death overshadowed some of the really talented guitarists that followed. Jake E. Lee was just one of a handful that played some really great songs. ZW was another that is unfortunately underrated.

    My sister's boyfriend introduced me to Ozzy almost 30 years ago with this song. I bought the CD and I've been a fan of Ozzy ever since. This song still stands as my favorite song by the Prince of Darkness.

      Anthony DeFabees even if he was to high to hear at the time he can listen to the album. Although randy is gone that album isn’t going anywhere wether it be blizzard of ozz or diary of a madman. Randy laid more of a mark than jake e lee and you can’t deny it. I like jake e lee and think he’s a phenomenal player. However you can’t deny Randy has influenced more.

    hey tapgym... I love the fact that Jake E lee, was innovative, and used very little "pinch harmonics" to get his sound to be the notes to catch your ear... I do a few things different, but overall, great cover of the great JEL... peace.. JLG....

    Great cover, man. You did Jake proud. He's such a great musician, he probably has forgotten more about music than most of us will ever know. Everyone one is so gung ho on Randy, and don't get me wrong, he was great too, but Jake was a downright scientist when it came to guitar, and no one on the planet plays like him. Both him and Randy were classic trained and it showed. Anyway, good job!
