@@PabloYaos Do they? As far as I saw on the website, all assets consistently offer four LOD levels (Raw, High, Medium, Low). I guess four is still pretty good though, but the available Low model is still too high - they will need some more processing to get an LOD4 or LOD5 or more. At least those are less sensitive.

Hi! I have a problem accessing my Epic Games account on the FAB website. The registration page does not load or the error message "Unfortunately, something went wrong" appears. I use quixel megascans alot but my problem is thier size in bytes. Some of those assets, even low quality, are tens of mb in aize and your project will quickly become significantly bloated and huge in size. I find that I have to import most of their assets into blender and do significant rework that doesn't affect texture or geometry but cuts their size by 90% in some cases. Those assets are NOT optimized and many times, its faster just to make them from scratch in blender.
Honestly, if you're a 3D artists it doesn't really make a huge amount of sense to make assets for games anymore, instead better to make assets for 3d Printing where you can charge 3X for the same product and you don't even need to provide a commercial license.
i massively disagree. most of these assets are made for a specific style and purpose and (no offence) tend to end up in asset flip type games. and not every game runs in unreal engine, sure photo realistic art is getting easier but Good and specialized art that matches a specific aesthetic and functionality is not something you can buy from some asset store. big studios know this so they make their assets from scratch even when stuff like this exists.

okay we needa stop acting like nanite is the ultimate solution to lods, nanite will not lower the ram usage if your model has a billion vertices, just increased render times. ram is very important to performance, and people are forgetting that.
It's the same problem that nearly all tech has always had where Microsoft devs would have 8gb of ram when the average man would have 256 mb so microsoft office would buffer like crazy and a manager went around ripping ram out of machines I would say nearly all people developing have 32 64 96 or 128 gb of ram while the average person has 8 16 or for really high end machines 32
I would think they should work like any other assets, as long as you claimed them they should now be linked to your account forever. It actually wouldn't make much sense for Epic to require you to download them all because they would have tons of people overloading their servers trying to download hundreds of gigs of assets.

They can be used in Godot? Some of the assets are only available in UE formats but a large amount of them can be imported into Godot without too many issues.
@@numipinkpanda5486no I'm pretty sure you are allowed to use the Quixel assets for any game engine. It says there either in the Fab Standard license or the Fab Quixel page. I forgot which one but the previous video on Fab earlier today had that near the end too. Epic wants this store to be the place for all art stuff so they have Unity stuff as well like plugins and models and textures etc. They said they wanna add support for Roblox and minecraft assets later down the line as well.

There is no way yet to drag and drop the Megascans into UE like we did with the Quixel bridge, right?

nanite also causes shimmering artifacts that need to be blurred by TAA in a distance. which proxy models dont cause

Nope download them as you need them. Just make sure you Redeamed them in 2024
As long as you redeem/grab/get/claim/add to your library all the assets by clicking the button before 2025, they are yours forever, no gimmicks,
