Freddy Mercury had a son with Burt Reynolds, but the child was raised by Rob Halford, and his godfather was Lemmy. In his youth, he became friend with Justin Hawkins from whom he learned the beauty of not taking himself too seriously. BTW : Who the fuck are these legends?... I am now an absolute fan!
Caught these guys 13 years ago at a pub in a small swedish town where they played in front of less than 100 people. They had the same incredible energy back then, so happy to see where it's taken them.
I got to see them play an absolutely tiny bar in Toronto and despite them already being huge outside of North America they were opening for bands I had never heard of. It sounded like they overall didn't have a great experience on their 2017 NA tour but they still played their hearts out and it was amazing.
North America is so bad for music. Honestly Europe just kept expanding their horizons beyond the 90's and so many rock/metal bands of so many genres became popular with endless festivals. In NA, its the same ten bands anybody talks about for the last 3 decades, and 8 out of those 10 of those bands have no riffs, leads, or even solos. There are many great underground bands that kill but the majority of people are stuck either on 90's tripe like Korn or Disturbed, or overplayed classic rock. Sad really.
@@robr135 That's true. Saddenly true. For each, say, "new" good American band there's 5 more that are from Europe. But at least they are VERY good bands (a good example of this could be Greta Van Fleet, not to mention the already monster-size success that is 5FDP). Also I understand the US is a utterly complex place for creating music because they have *so many* cultural influences, both their own and foreign but at the same time they(*) are sort of reluctant to welcome more. These guys are golden, as a Metallica fan since the 80's I truly appreciate the nod to his influences. This band rocks hard AF, I'm a hard rock fan, and these guys won my absolute respect, so much so I got tickets for their concert here in Paris!! 🤘 Love the pearls!
These guys surely were "drinking from more than just one fountain" as we say in Spain. They have a couple (maybe more than a couple) of songs that I'd have a hard time if I had to assure they're not from Franz Ferdinand, for example. 😉
Agree, absolutely adore Royal Republic.....top 3 favourite band without a doubt but selfishly I sort of like that they're not even bigger! And they're bigger in mainland Europe than over here in the UK and the USA anyway! What a band, what a LIVE band, just brilliant!
Is it me or does everyone lucky enough to see this band has great things to say? I'm hoping someine like Foo Fighters will bring them to the US - I need to see this band!!! I also have to say the fans in Eurpoe seem to be very open to different types of music and look like they know how to have a great time!

During a rehearsal on April 21, 1749 in Vauxhall gardens, 12000 people showed up each paying half a crown to hear this fantastic new composition. It caused a 3 hour 'traffic jam' of carriages on London bridge. A fitting piece to open for Royal Republic!
