I said I could speak French on CV and my interview is tomorrow so here I am.
How was it?
😂😂😂😂😂
RIP Hola
RIP your interview
c 'est juste bète de l 'avoir suggéré. j espère vraiment que tu y reussiras mais j en doute vraiment . lolll
"Je veux une eau" is an odd and unclear collocation in French. We use the phrase "un verre d'eau" (a glass of water) or "Une eau minerale" (a bottle of mineral water or spring water.) "Une eau" would be used for water in general as in a body of water, "une eau de qualité"... I hope this helps.
that much difference 😱 thanks a lottttt ..merci ! 😉
In english it doesnt make much sense either. I want a water. Without the a maybe.
i need to listen to a native french speaker than americano teching us french lol..
@@yrien982 Lol? The joke is on you! She is not American, she is Venezuelan. She speaks English with no accent. Maybe instead of criticizing her, you should listen to her. Lol indeed.

Thank you! This is more helpful to me because it explains the logic behind the language instead of just the phrases. Merci!

Hi! I just went to Paris last week and watched your video the night before and seriously, it got me through the entire trip no problem!!! People, take notes because everything she says is true--you can get by sooo much based on what she teaches. That plus what other words you will pick up along the way will definitely make your trip that much better! Thank you so much for your videos!!!
A Chinese from Asia learning French only by watching it on virtual RUclips and without a real teacher in real life is so heart wrenching. I'm crying. :')
Wow, I am french (from quebec) and your french is amazing. I can feel you learned the french accent from france. Here instead of "La carte" we say le menu

Thank you Fluenz for the video but i think that its necessary to get a full French program in order to learn basic French. I think Oxenham's program is the best and its highly recommended by experts when it comes to learn french fast. Good luck guys
Yeah i heard a lot of positive reviews about it but the price is a little bit high on Jason Oxenham's website.
Raed Darouaz Yes but it worth it and DVB is giving a big discount on it french.dvb.me . Keep in mind that motivation is the key . Good luck bro

You are the best French teacher for new learners........
This video was very helpful with the pronunciation of words in French! I've just started wanting to learn the language, although it seems slightly more difficult than Spanish. I took Spanish for three years in high school and the words are fairly easy to pronounce, I've never tried learning French before and this video was very helpful!
Bonjour Mademoiselle. I am half way in finishing your This/That French Tutorial and I would say that your way of teaching is very organized. It transitions very well to the next sub-topic. They are also in very chewable bite-sized pieces where one can swallow it. Kudos! You are an excellent teacher of the languages.
Merci Beaucoup Mademoiselle Sonia!
She is amazing with her pronunciation. I can actually comprehend and repeat. Every other French tutorial goes waaayyyy too fast

This is a wonderful explanation; I love that you go into detail how the word varies depending on how it's used in a sentence; many teachers don't go into detail during exercises which leaves the learner confused and wondering why it's changed. :) Good job!

I have a question. When can I use Tu instead of vous. I know both mean you, but I don't know when to use them. I remember learning Vous is either what you say to a teacher or a more respectful way of saying you then Tu. But I'm not completely sure. And I don't know when to use it.
No, you only use TU when you're speaking to 1 person (someone you know like your friend etc...) , and you can use VOUS when you're speaking to several persons (plural). You can also use VOUS when you're speaking to a person who you don't know, like somebody in the street, your teacher or your boss.
Sorry for my english x)

Would someone who speaks french still be able to understand what your trying to say if you mess up on masculine and feminine words?
Of course, they are able to understand even if you make a mistake on masculine and feminine. It sound a bit funny when you are wrong, but that's not a problem, everybody understands what you're saying (and nobody will think you're stupid because all foreigners make mistakes (italians and spanish just a little, english speakers a lot)). Keep in mind that most of the words ending with E are feminine (easy when you know the sex : ex : un petit boulanger = a small male baker, unE petitE boulangèrE = a small female baker (notice that with the feminine form you dont't heard the E but you pronounce distinctly the last letter of the masculine form (n, t, r), wich isn't heard in the first case because not followed by E); and here are some feminine things : une assiette = a plate, une voiture = a car ; some masculine : un avion = a plane, un mot = a word). However there are many exceptions : un homme = a man, un arbre = a tree, un hotel confortable = a comfortable hotel, because adjectives ending with -able don't change with gender, and of course : le and ce. Almost all words ending in -tion are feminine : une addition, une opération, la condensation, etc. I hope this little improvised lesson was usefull !
I am a french person and most of the time : of course we can like wtf our language is so hard even us have trouble finding out if something is masculine or feminine so yeah😂
James Arthur FR I can relate with you! I also speak French and sometimes I hear people who fluency speak french mess up...including me!

I just stumbled upon the best French teacher ever...but can't find any more French videos....Sonia...please....This is how I learn.
I really hate to do this but i must react to two things. Americans say "I want that" where as an english speaker in other parts of the world would use politness and say "I would like" and it is this form of politness that has to be used in France. Its not "Je veux " it's "Je voudrais" and nothing else. Je veux would not get you what you want.. The use of "I want/je veux" causes us to believe that a spoilt child is demanding something.
The second thing is this "Ça s'il vous plaît" a direct and impolite translation from english. What you should do is use the different forms of celui followed by s'il vous plaît and nothing else.
I like how you clump all Americans together and assume they are all impolite and arrogant. You look at Americans as being the self-centered English speakers, "I want," and all other English speakers in the world as being polite, "I would like." I'm an American, and given the context I wouldn't, nor do I really know anyone else who would, say "I want!" when in a polite situation. Believe it or not, not all Americans are fat, stupid, ignorant, arrogant, narcissistic, etc.
Then I would advise you to come to Europé and work in a restaurant or shop here. When the americans come in you will understand what I mean.
timmannen yuuup, that's factual proof that most Americans are assholes, including me.
timmannen
I stayed in France for 2 months and never said "I want" I would say I would like or may I...That's just My Good American upbringing...All places have their rudeness. If I decided to go to France with the impression that all French were "snobs" I would have been treated as such myself. Instead, I went with an open mind to come to my own conclusion. I found most to be very open and polite to me (but one bus driver), but then again I was nice and polite to the people I came in contact with. Bottom line? Don't clump a group of people together in the same group no matter what the Nationality, Culture or Background.

“Je veux une eau” is wrong we say “est-ce que je peux avoir de l’eau?”
And “water” is just “l’eau” not “une eau”.
And we say “est-ce que je pourrais avoir....” not “je veux...”
"Eau" c'est un mot masculin? Depuis quand?

merci de cette video, c'est tres enrichissante, mais on ne dit pas vraiment "je veux une eau" on utilise plutot l'article partitif, "je veux de l'eau", since water is uncountable, we use the partitive article or just measure the water by its container, un verre d'eau, une bouteille d'eau or just "de l'eau" like you say "du riz" (some rice or rice), it just means water or some water
Love Aludo ok tried reading this but got lost at enrichissante

i dont get how a noun is feminine or masculine :/
it depends on the subject or person.
For example: Il est fort (He is strong)
Elle est fortE (She is strong)
Bonjour, you don't get to know how a noun is masculine. or feminine. Words in French, like in Spanish, Italian, Porutguese , German .. have a "gender". There are some lists, a few rules but you will have to learn each word. Restaurant is "masculin", banque is "féminin" and so on ... difficult ? yes ! But c'est la vie !
What a great explanation. :) Merci, beaucoup.
it depends on the word . you have to by hard to your heart . but usually when the word ends with a 'e' it is mostly feminine

SANOOJ STEPHEN What about the CONTENT of the video? Like the fact that she is teaching French.
+Jazzy J actually I dont have much understanding about french to evaluate her teachings, I am a beginner, give me some tips to fast learning
For fast learning you need to make sure french phrases go into your long term memory through a lot of repetition and listening to french music, french radio stations, speaking french with natives etc....
Use apps like Duolingo, Memrise and Hello Talk whereby you can talk to other people and practice your language skills.
GOOD LUCK!!
thank you
it is very important that you repeat yourself 3 times slow, slower. then normal speed for effective teaching before asking the student repeat after you.But i like it so far. nice vid.
My French teacher said merci meant please tho
Merci means thank you
Really?😂
Either you're misremembering or your French teacher probably needs to be fired.
Merci means thank you and sil vou plait means please(not sure how to spell it)
Hstyles 24 You spelled it right, except it's vous
it is complicated :(
Jumanh Alabdulaal no way, it is the easiest lang ever especially if u r good in English.
all u need is a motivation and do it for a goal.
I’ve tried to learn the alphabet, but they were hard. I’ll try to learn it in this summer.
Jumanh Alabdulaal I didn't start with alph. and numbers, that's boring. Istarted with full sentences, full conversation phrases, good videos like this and Alexa's channel, and a good app.
French is easyer if u were an arab who speak english.
good luck.
I tried to learn new vocabulary through Memrise (App) and Frenchsounds (channel), and I found it easier than learning the alphabet or the basic rules!
Thanks for your suggestion.
It's definitely not the easiest lang man. Even the most of french people do a lot of mistakes every day. Even grammatical errors when speak.
I watched a French video and got amused by its romantic sound in words like beautiful, cute, sweet , so I decided to learn some French words to say them to my baby. After I watched this girl I think I will learn the whole language.
Man this is hard. U sure this is basics??
Lol no it's not.
It's not an plus she's skipping the order so it looks complicated
