This brings back memories. I milked 8 by hand until I put machines in. I started with 2 stalls also. I was milking 45 with 10stalls when I had to quit.
Thank you for showing this and having the narrative explanation at the end. You were cut off just a little though and I thought your point was worth asking you to finish. I'm hoping to learn more of what you are doing and why so I can replicate it in the not too distant future.
Just discovered your channel. Very interesting. I watched one of your older videos where you were walking behind a group of your cows. One was in heat and as a result two of your 4 bulls was with the group of cows. You mentioned that the two bulls had been calves from your herd. Wonder if it is an issue having to keep those two bulls away from their mothers so there is no inbreeding?
This has been a closed herd for almost 60 years now with no new genetics introduction. One of my older videos I’m in a winter field with the bulls and explain it all a bit better.
Glenn, I have really enjoyed watching all your videos. They make me think about improving my own operation. I have implimented the calf sharing technique to my farm. Do you have any problems with cows having chapped or cracked teats? Also found if the cows did not let the cream down at milking the calves seemed to have the runs. Have you had any problems with that?
Bringing the calves in to nurse before milking seems to be what fixes that. I did have one cow that would start holding back milk halfway through and I’d put the calf back on again for a minute. She got over that.
Thanks for the reply, yes having the calves stay with the cow is so much better then penning them up all he time. I have been letting the calves start the cows off. Also teaches the calves better social behaviour as they grow up in the herd. As your herd is growing do you have a good sale for milk cows, or will you increase your herd and cull them hard? Your cows udder look quite well put together, is that common amongst all Linch Linebacks?
@@finelinefarm8262 Printaboul = Gaëtan Dupont I'm a french québecer, and I always thought that La canadienne breed was the only cattle breed developped in Canada, apparently not. Same with the NewFoundland pony ... Well, topics to explore.

15:50 Right? 😂 I’ve never seen anything like this. Very interesting, you look like you have this figured out.

I’ll do a better video explaining it all from start to finish one of these days.
I really like your setup

I understand what your doing. However I plan to sell raw milk. Dropping the machine in the crud is bad. To much chace for bacteria.
