Congratulations on the new job Caitlin! That is such a wonderful story about getting your foot in the door and finding your place in a new space. I love it and wish you the best of luck and look forward to all the floral goodness coming our way. Also, thank you Jackie for being honest and vulnerable about the process of knitting. I feel myself falling into that trap of jumping onto projects that I'm maybe not that excited about, just wanting to feel like I'm "a part" of something bigger. Especially during covid when the social thing just isn't happening like normal times. I'm trying to do better with KALs and test knits (I'm doing a good job resisting Shawlography, but I still watch Stephen's IG lives because he is joy personified). But we are all human, and life IS ups and downs, trials and triumphs. FOs and frogs. 💕
I have been watching so much of your backlist and I can’t tell you how much your videos touch my heart. From the knitting and pies and talk about process and sensuality and words - I feel so much gratitude for you opening yourselves and your family to us. Thank you so so much. I also just ordered my first linen quill (kettle black and crocus bud) for my first half+half wrap 🌹
I don't know what it was. But 3 weeks ago I went down the half wrap hole. So I definitely won't be done, but I can't wait to see your pictures of everyone in their wraps. Safe travels!!
Thanks for the podcast! Got my Linen Quill a week ago and will knit my wrap in 2022, so many inspirations on IG. I wish I could go to Rhinebeck but will plan for another year. I absolutely adore your Seli sweaters.............simple divine. Also on my 2022 dream knitting plan, just beautiful. Have fun with all the festivities, I will be joining virtually here and there.
Thanks for recommending the Ask a Dyer podcast about the Half and Half Wrap. I bought some Dark Iris Linen Quill for my first wrap but I didn’t like it with the Peach Stone. So I got some Kettle Black and used that with the Peach Stone. Finished that wrap! As advertised it’s a fun and addictive knit. And I’ve missed it, but couldn’t find anything I liked with the Dark Iris. Until Stacy Elstone’s podcast where she shows Dark Iris and Purple Smoke! Perfect. Purple Smoke ordered and soon I’ll be happily knitting another wrap.
Still have 1 more skein to go on my half and half wrap. Love the Linen Quill. Thanks for sharing how great it is. I am using it for the Stephen West Shawlography MKAL too.
“We won’t stop….💗”. Excited to share more of our linen quill love together. I’m dreaming and planning on at least 4 projects currently 😅. Thanks for sharing it all, Love y’all!
Your words about not getting caught up in the rush to the finish line and stressing over knitting we’re much needed today as I prepare for my first Rhinebeck!! Hope to have the chance to meet you both. Your podcast is pure joy!
It takes me awhile to find time to watch your videos. But, I ALWAYS am so inspired and find inspiration. So worth the time. Happy to be a Patreon. Congratulations on your milestone.🤗
Adjusting expectations…. so well said. Looking forward to seeing you both at the cake wool event and on Saturday. I was hoping to have at least joined my second color of my half and half. Thank you for reminding me it’s about the connections, not the “product”.
I love the sweaters and I cant wait to see all of the pics from Rhinebeck! The insights on life and fiber were profound thank you for sharing! Love u both xoxo
Always enjoy watching you two. Caitlin, I plan to be at BMYS and hope to meet you. I use to live in the area and am coming back for SAFF and Black Mountain’s event. You look lovely in your sweater. Do I see blue? Congratulations on your new job! Sounds like so much fun.
Beautiful podcast!!! I was feeling a little sad that I am not going to finish my half wrap in time. Thank you for your kind words and encouragement! I am going to make a woven version of the half wrap.
Great podcast! Both of you knit so beautifully and I truly enjoy your FOs. Great idea on the Linen Quill stash swap! I'm looking for Lemon Lime and butterscotch. I have Pink Pop I'm not going to use so I hope someone does take on this project! Hugs to you both!!
You have no idea how happy you made me when you said you are going to keep the #halfwrapkal hashtag going. I finally! committed and just today received in the mail my Holst Garn Coast in Blackcurrant and Dove. Casting on tonight, and I too hope to also have one on the needles for the rest of my life. Why did I wait so long?!? 🤪🤯
Yay!!!💃 I work well under pressure but I prefer to go with flow 🥰 If I can balance the process + product knitting = happy girl. This was so much fun, thank you but once again all I want to do when I watch you two is knit all the things! Congrats on the new job and have loads of fun at Rhinebeck 🤩🥰🌺🌸🌼🌻
Great episode ladies❤ I just wanted to add a little hilarious side note... from when I watched the great British sewing bee. Evidently across the pond they call those lovely big neck bows "pussy bows" 🤣🤣🤣 I have no idea why, but it only makes me want to wear them every day now🤣🤣🤣
Jackie I’m just wondering If your hard time is coming from being a teacher ? I’m a teacher and it’s rough out there. Clinging to my knitting in my oft time. I hope it gets better.
Just wanted to pass on my congrats to Caitlin on your new job and being able to pursue your passion! Please continue to post your floral creations on your IG - they are amazing. Jackie I do love your poetry selections and enjoy you reading the poems - very amusing exchange 😊. Hope you both have a great time @ Rhinebeck - 2022 goal!
