In last 10 years of Modi Govt, a total of 12.5 crore jobs created: Hardeep Puri cites SBI report

Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri on July 11 praised the Modi Government after a report was released indicating that around 12.5 crore jobs were created during the last 10 years. The Union Minister also said that the BJP has removed 250 million people out of multidimensional poverty and that India would become the country with the 2nd largest metro system in the world overtaking Japan and Korea.
“The Chief Economist of SBI has brought out a report which indicates that in the last 10 years of Modi Govt, a total of 12.5 crore jobs were created. In the last Congress govt, the figure was 2.9 crore. During this period (post-2014), we have moved to the 5th largest economy in the world. Earlier we were no. 10 or 11. Today, we are on the way to becoming the 3rd largest economy. We have moved from 240 km metro lines to 965 km and we are on the way to becoming the 2nd largest metro system in the world, overtaking Japan and Korea. What stands out is over the 10-year period, you have moved 250 million people out of multidimensional poverty,” said Hardeep Singh Puri.

Under UPA govt, there was pension scheme in govt jobs, taxes were exempted, prices were low, regular army recruitment(not agni veer) , population was less and govt had lesser money. Now the situation is completely opposite, so large number of jobs are needed to beat unemployment.

The interview is insightful with supporting data. Coverage appreciated. This aside, no denial that country witnessed monumental progress during the ten yrs hence, is evident on ground. Obviously this surely created many jobs as well embraced the welfare fare measures for commoners.
