List of moves Faust can crawl under - www.dustloop.com/w/GGST/Faust/Strategy#Crawl_Table While the utilization of crawl isn't SUPER important by any means, I believe that if you are able to use crawl effectively you can consistently steal turns back by whiff punishing moves.
This guide unironically made me fall in love with Faust (I was also interested in picking up Zato but I don't have enough hands or braincells). Thank you so much!
I actually have moved on to maining Zato currently. While I still haven't forgotten faust by any means, I do recommend Zato if you're willing to put in the time. Sure it's gonna be hard to win and whatnot, but from my experience it's just that much more satisfying when you win with such a technical character (but I still love playing faust)
@@qweezy. Oh I did try because I love Eddie's forms and the blockstrings look juicy, but with this being my first actual fighting game, I wanna get to celestial with Faust first (because the negative edge mechanic looks a bit hard on controller).
Great video, by the way how is zato in terms of viability? Also how is playing him on gamepad, ik pepperysplash plays him, but is it worth it. Might switch mains since tbh faust is only fun when rcing.
You earned a subsciber for this one, truly the most fruitful and easily digestible guides for faust yet, not only did you give great advice but, also some nice and assuring words throughout! I appercaite the passion you had in making this video and I really can't wait to destory my friends with these combos (one day...)
Yo man, this stuff is great. Strive is the first fighting game I've decided to get good at. I'm currently only a floor 8 player but stuff like this has already made my game way better as a Faust main.
Thank you so much for such an in-depth guide like this. I've played Faust since launch but I've hardly touched the game. He's changed so much that I was having a hard time finding a decent source of information for what he's capable of now and you showed it off so well. I love the pace and editing. Keep doing your thing, this content is wonderful! 😁
also some small things I couldn't add in due to storage issues; • you can use your ult after the "pull" part of thrust - can use if trying to ensure you finish your opponent off • for a really basic but potent mix-up: use your K scarecrow (the one that goes behind them) right as the meteors are falling; it's close to unreactable. • Love (AIR ONLY 236P) is a move where you throw a small bomb, is empowered when you have an afro on yourself (it even staggers and bounces nearly the whole screen) - you can use as oki or to zone, but if you get creative you could also use it as a K scarecrow setup.. • There's some more complex nuances I missed like fuzzies but there's many resources out there to help (like dustloop) • Faust as a character is all about being creative and making things up on the fly with item interactions - go crazy..
Hopefully soon! Have been busy with life as of recently but am planning on a Zato guide since he's my current main (as of the last 9 monthsish) and is probably my most confident character now
this video made me fall in love with faust. this is also my first fighting game ive been trying to like actually learn. you did a great job! i love faust. :)
Absolutely amazing guide! GG strive is my first serious fighting game as well since i came from smash ultimate like you. i have finally got into 10th floor and have been practicing in the park trying to improve my Faust to the next level. This guide will definitely help me with that, thanks alot! 👍🔥
the thing that finally got me hooked on fighting games was nash in sfv, i saw one combo on youtube of someone doing a reset combo with his vtrigger 2, and ive been chasing something like it in another game. my character crisis is finally over. faust has captured my heart with that left right scarecrow reset
Much appreciated, wanted to wait a bit before commenting to tell you about the results of finally learning how to properly use fast rc and it's been a life saver
Frankly these combos are getting impressive and scary, I would not want to be up against you, although often fighting more skilled opponents is quite fun, and since the one thing I’m really good at is not getting tilted, it would honestly be fun to learn through fighting
hey bumbleoka! first off, sorry for the late reply - been caught up irl.. I would personally say that fS > 2H > 236P is by far the most important. Even though it's simple, many high level Faust mains still use it since getting that hard knockdown into item is just really nice. Just make sure that if you do get blocked, don't habitually do 236P - they can pretty easily punish you for throwing an item. Best of luck!
3:20 my 5K just REFUSES to JC into JS am I not understanding what a jump cancel is? I'm holding up after the move to cancel into the jump but I NEVER get the same result you do in the video?
Oh wait you’re dashing, I gotta get more used to dashing, but honestly, I’m doing well right now and I don’t like all the stray grabs that come from dashing
Ah, will do. Apologies, did not take this into consideration when I made this video. I'm still learning formatting and things so I appreciate this comment!
4:40 When am I supposed to dash during the animation then cancel? It feels like it's always slower than yours, but when I do it earlier I don't even teleport
I don't really have a set "timing" for when I teleport, but if you are struggling to make it fast I recommend first doing FPRC too fast for a couple of reps, then do FPRC too slow for a couple of reps. The goal here is to slowly reach a middlepoint where you can comfortably get it as fast as possible consistently. If you want to get into the specifics however, it seems like I generally FPRC on the 4th frame of when Faust first vanishes from the screen. Hope this helps!
It does in fact still work. If you're having trouble hitting this combo it's probably because you're not holding [1] (down left) during the last few hits of 236S. Making sure you are able to land every hit of 236S is also important too.
The window is short but it can be done, the dash need to be pressed before the mixmixmix, but not too soon or you will only dash forward, hope this help
Hello, the faust skin that I was using this video consists of two mods: Ghostfire Faust Hoodie Faust which can both be found on the gamebanana modding website.
What are these silly combos, when am I ever going to get close enough to close slash and be not too nervous to do this combo? I prefer to stay at least midrange with most people, although I might go for that 2k one, I have a few ways to get there

My god this is the best strive guide video I’ve ever seen 😭 hope to see another one of these with another character eventually

But the dust combo is definitely noted and a great idea

For anyone as stupid as I, please try Jump Cancelling forward before whining on the internet. TY :D
This guide is great I love it, the only thing is that… how do I play neutral with the character? 🧐
Lots of fS, 2K, and 2Ps
- and j2K too
Neat.
im a floor 10 faust player thats tickled celestial for a while, cant seem to make that final step
Oh wait you’re dashing, I gotta get more used to dashing, but honestly, I’m doing well right now and I don’t like all the stray grabs that come from dashing
Loved the video but please put the notation+notes above or higher if I pause the video I cant read the text because the load bar goes overtop.

Mmmhh wonder Walhalla a mysterious faust would look like
I feel like playing Faust requires you to use all of and none of your neurons at the same time
Does the cS >2S>236S
(×2)
Still works ? It doesn't hit when i try it

I was able to do it
Who up fausting they Faust?
What is that Faust skin?
Hello, the faust skin that I was using this video consists of two mods:
Ghostfire Faust
Hoodie Faust
which can both be found on the gamebanana modding website.

4:14 oooooh I’m absolutely using that, although sometimes I just catch my opponents not blocking on wakeup there and just get them that way
What mods do you use for faust? He looks so cool (≧▽≦)
hi! sorry for the late response but I use the following:
Ghostfire Faust
Hoodie Faust
both can be found on gamebanana, enjoy!
@@qweezy. thank you !!
