I’m a recycling truck driver and assumed he forgot to set the breaks as it’s super easy to get in to a routine where your already half out as your hand reaches for the break switch. But no this was a break failure.
This is so tragic. That family should be completely compensated for all of the damages. This wasn't their fault in any way and this could have been much more of a nightmare if anyone was harmed.
@@xaviercbivens yup I had one like that lol I went o take a shit and then came back and truck rolled back luckily I was in parking lot and the chance of that happening is 1 in a million
They are not the same brake system. They S-cam can fail. Spring brake can fail on base the garbage weight. too many factor. That not a normal brake system. we are taking about Air Brake and Spring brake system. nothing like Hydraulic like normal car.

No matter what company built the truck, they pretty much all use the same brakes. Bendix, Wabco... but truthfully, all air brakes can be a pain in the rear end. Usually a leaky air line would cause something like this. I’m surprised the spring brakes didn’t do anything. Truck must’ve been too heavy or they failed
I'm guessing he left it in drive and had the parking brakes applied so there was tension on the brakes then they gave out or something failed he shoulda had it in neutral, the brakes still could have failed for whatever reason but wouldve rolled a lot slower
Just more proof that Garbage Truck *drivers* are incredibly kind people, but at the same time, the higher up desk people aren't always the greatest.
Well said. I’m just sad this very rare truck had to go out in such a bad way.

Time to hire a lawyer.
The driver is like welp I'm fired
Fred the Fish who was outside the house was like, "MY LEG!".
Signed, Angela.
Four to six months?? New construction homes go up faster than that 😂
I can't even get Republic Trash service to pay for a mailbox they took out.... Yikes...I feel their pain...
That's because insurance doesn't wanna pay
If the people weren’t dumb enough you can see that the truck ran into a brake fail

R.I.P to the classic Mustang in the garage that was destroyed in the incident
I hope the truck driver wasn’t fired. It’s not his fault. This truck was old, it’s pretty much no ones fault.
The driver was going to be reported to the police
Lol, this happened in Houston about a year ago. Driver said the brakes just went out. Never heard of a UPS truck doing this ...
It’s a valve in the parking brake system that fails which causes the brakes to release .

Then why don’t you sue the garbage company it was their fault that they crashed into your house
This is insane and wrong
Was the truck ok
Lol
It's not the driver's fault. Everyone reacted properly. The neighbor pointed one second after it moved but that thing was doing 20 mph in 3 seconds.
The driver is lucky he has the video. Must have looked pretty bad at first.
It is the drivers fault , he should have been doing his job , instead of running his dumb mouth.. what do ya mean it’s not his fault !??
@@shaunsmoke8537 - The brake failed in real time - on film. It's called an accident. That's up to the insurance companies now.

trucker drive did not use double brakes locks while he walked out...
trucker is a big fault
Garbage Trucks don't have any double brakes.... And he isn't at fault for a mechanical error so please...

I carry 2 million liability for my business. Man up and pay for the damage, completely, in a timely manner.
Sometimes it isn't the company, but their insurance provider being slow. I know insurance companies can be hesitant as they don't want to pay.
We call this a roll away failure to apply air brake when he exited
He left it in drive with the air brake on when it should've been in neutral
Is this an automatic? Why did it move so fast at idle?!

This is why you should choose Waste Management. The best trash company around.
They crash into homes too.
Well I can’t get that because I’m in Australia so
Ironically I just came from a video of one of WM's trucks randomly shooting up into a huge fireball
How do breaks fail? 🤷♀️ wtf
Every thing fails just like you
Leaks, linkage failures, so many things depending on what type of brake.
See told ya Mack trucks are poorly built trucks lol. They should have gotten a Peterbilt or freightliner
