Absolutely NO web novel spoilers in the comments! In case you're confused, YES I was being super sarcastic/ironic. My first recording was full of sentimental drivel that I scrapped in favor of this insanity. I figured my takes would be SO absurd that viewers would immediately recognize that I was playing around. Sorry, I should have made it clearer.
To me, it was clear that you went with the sarcastic tone from the beginning, and it was interesting, but I feel this would have been better on something like the shrine visits of the last volume, not sure I like it for this set of chapters specifically. Granted I was never a fan of sarcasm in general, so I might be the minority here. Looking forward to when this book publishes to get your actual take on these chapters on the chitchat. In any case appreciate the video nonetheless.
Honestly at first I took the bait and thought you were serious, but the you described everything that happened in the prepub as if it didn't, and then I thought that either you were being sarcastic or you had way higher expectations, maybe I'm not used to your sarcastic tone 😅
The insistence that it was onion cutting ninjas or something else makes us all do strange things. I know when I read this section, I had to stop too see how the ninjas got in...
Even Rozemyne as always treated Florencia as Sylvester's wife rather than her adoptive mother. Sure, she calls her like that, but every time she speaks about her is almost always in reference to Sylvester or Wilfried XD.
I didn't catch the sarcasm on Elvira's part until the "I expected her to do this..." accompanied by the passage of her practically doing said thing. Spent a bit being confused trying to remember if Elvira had done anything particularly bad lmao. Well played
This part was truly an emotional roller coaster for me, from dying laughing at Bonifatius’s “Curse you, Zent Gesetzkette! You’ve ruined everything” to me bawling at the motherly h2h talks with Elvira in the hidden room. I’m an emotional wreck now 😭
I'm... Not quite sure how to respond. My take on that chapter didn't seem to line up with yours at all. I felt like Elvira was truly regretting not having spent more time with Rozemyne and was trying to be encouraging to her. Several of the memes you highlighted also seemed to be taking it the way I did. I was one of the victims of the onion ninjas when I read this part. Your last couple sentences at the end left me wondering if you really felt that way or if you were trying to be sarcastic.
@@LynzArts that's what I was hoping :-) My opinion has lined up with hers far too much in the past for there to suddenly be this kind of departure. :-)
Same here, I thought it was a great chapter because she was praising her for saving those in the other duchy something she was not allowed to do anywhere else but her hidden room and the meeting was to make sure that rosemyne did express what she wanted before she leaves. But it does feel like magpi is punking us with an insincere opinion about the chapter. Especially when Elvira’s past actions did not change, we just got them explained, which i thought were pretty good for emotinaly represed nobility. If the opinion is genuine maybe having all her actions or inactions listed together makes it more obvious how shit the nobility is at raising children. I think Elvira was a good guardian and this pre pub made me cry.
all of her opinion on this week's prepub is pretty much the opposite of what happen so I immediately assume she was being sarcastic. Magpi definitely cried while reading the chapter, I believe all of the readers did.
I think the situation between Florencia, Elvira and Rozemyne is a rather complicated one. A lot of things happened the way they did, and neither Florencia nor Elvira can really do anything about it. Plus maybe they thought that since Rozemyne grew up with Ferdinard, maybe he needed to be entrusted with her, and after that not much time has passed. It just feels like a lot of time has passed, but it's been barely a season since Ferdinard left.
This may be an unpopular opinion, but I think Florencia is a meh character. We’ve got Elvira over here, being a boss at all the times and Florencia running around clueless. Is Florencia so weak-minded that Sylvester couldn’t trust her with the truth? Sylvester supposedly loves his wife so much that he refused to take a second wife for over a decade, but couldn’t tell her information that would be useful to her? The lack of respect! 😒
Aaaaaaaa! Another probably wonderful video that I can't watch because I don't want to get spoiled! And there is still a week and a half until the next release! You, Miss Magpi, are a mean bird! (I am joking of course. I look forward to watching these after I finish the next light novel.)
I feel like you are being a bit harsh on Elvira in terms of the emotional support. Rozemyne was scheduled to spend most of her time in the temple, and the rest of the time in the castle. So what good would it have done for Elvira to establish herself as Rozemyne's emotional support, when she couldn't continue to do that, once the two months period was over? Ferdinand was a good choice at the time, because he was going to spend so much time with her at the temple anyway. I suppose she could have pushed for Rozemyne spending more time in the castle, so Florencia could take care of her, but realistically there was no way for her to fulfill the role herself.... at least when we talk about pre-purge times. Now Florencia... what rubbs me the wrong way is, that she just assumed Elvira would take care of it, despite knowing that Rozemyne spent most of her time at the temple and the rest at the castle. When would Elvira have taken care of Rozemyne's education, when the two barely ever were in the same place? There's also the Wilfried issue. She bemoaned how Veronica stole away Wilfried, but then when Veronica was put into the Ivory Tower, she didn't immediately take back her son's education and didn't spend more time with him. It took Rozemyne exposing how terrible his education was, for her to get in gear... if you can count giving other people the order to do as Rozemyne said as "getting in gear" anyway... Sure, I might have gotten a wrong impression, due to us getting so very little information on what Florencia does all day long, but it really feels like she isn't doing much of anything and she seems to think that raising her children means appointing retainers and letting them do almost all of it, while she only hugs them twice a day and talks with them over supper.
I did like the sarcastic-ness but it did go on a little long, would have liked the Elvira part to have been sincere. Anyway it was a good video nonetheless. Thanks!
SUBSCRIBE YOU PUNKS!!! but seriously great meme roundup and with the actual prepub this one finally translated one of my favorite chapters…that mother daughter hidden room just hits different 😭😭😭
this part being drought on memery is a consequence of this part being highly emotional AND since this is not the WN, it gets LONGER o.O I disagree (softly) on your take on female characters, or specificaly moms: she is actually doing a great job on showing that the noble way of life (little to no empathy, little emotional connection etc) is a shit way of nurturing and all those T H E M E S and F O R E S H A D O W I N G we love this series for xD I disagree (strongly) with your take on Elvira: I find her saying how it was a good thing she negotiated with the royals to free Ferdinand from guilty by association and pointing out it saved others too (and Roz adds Razafam mentally) exactly what you said you wanted from her. In fact, she not only praises Roz for doing so but also E X P L A I N S why no one else has done it so far - and now that Roz knows Elvira knows of her true origins, she is the ONLY ONE WHO CAN lecture her like this. Nah, Elvira leaving the emotional stuff to Ferdi was the best shot - Rozemyne was 200% in high alert mode in that house and definetely NOT ready to accept Elvira as a mother then. And after Ferdinand's departure all the social circunstances didn't allow/made it very difficult to do so - and that was explained before. I get being frustated (is that how it is written?) with a character, A LOT of them make me like this in this story in many moments but I get it, I really do. It's meant to be like this. TBF the story picks up from sadface land from here, the PLOT ROCKET is about to launch after all
Florencia was too busy raising and making babies one after another because Syl never took a second wife. Elvira never got time with her between the temple, jureeve, and school. Once she was adopted by the Archduke she also has to not overstep her bounds too. Elvira was busy as a scholar, protecting Aurelia and Seigrecht.
@ChatteringMagpi i feel what you're doing with that BS😁 for a moment there i thought we'd have to do a wellness check on you, since it seemed you had Lost your mind 😅❤
Soooo.... anyone else seen those videos where Magpies (the bird, not the Supreme Empress) dive bombs people that get too close to their nest. The ending of this video feels like that. xD
Looking at the release schedule I'm going to remain sad until next year. I've tried my best not to even review the light novels because I don't want to spiral into a rant. 😢 If I can't get Ferdinand time I at least need a Hartmut bandage. Maybe a Fran sticker?
Rozemyne: This is gonna hurt, but please bear with it...
Hartmut: HARDER Rozemyne-sama!
Rozemyne: What!?
Hartmut: What?
It's like to don't hug me I'm scared, when the dog being pet screams harder. Same vibes from Hartmut.
If Guther and Effa did react like noble Parents, the series would have ended at the confrontation with Bezewanst...

Please release the sentimental drivel.

Hartmut is a joy. We really cannot go on without him
That Hartmut meme where he pours oil on Wilfried was perfect.
I didn't catch the sarcasm on Elvira's part until the "I expected her to do this..." accompanied by the passage of her practically doing said thing. Spent a bit being confused trying to remember if Elvira had done anything particularly bad lmao.

It took me a minute too, but she's definitely being sarcastic

Is it bad that I wanted Rozemyne and Elvira to hug?

Effa and Gunther are parental goals.
Uh.. is this irony? Pretty much the opposite happened in the pre-pub *I* read =P I also happen to agree with Bonifatius... Fuck Zent Gesetzkette!
It is also quite sad that Elvira had so little time to be with Rozemyne.
I TOTALLY agree about Iffa! She always showed her love even from afar! Elvira is incredible. But iffa has always been Rozemyne’s best mother!
This may be an unpopular opinion, but I think Florencia is a meh character. We’ve got Elvira over here, being a boss at all the times and Florencia running around clueless. it was sarcasm, check the pinned comment
My heart almost fell out of my heart when you said you'd quite don't scare me like that again 😅😅
I did like the sarcastic-ness but it did go on a little long, would have liked the Elvira part to have been sincere. Anyway it was a good video nonetheless. Thanks!

The chapter hit me hard like most of the prepub gang. Elvira isn’t perfect but she is definitely in the best mother club of the serie for me.
I never click on these because I don't wanna get spoiled but its Meme Review LMAO
Lmao, you HAD to pick this one. In a way you couldn't have picked a better one of these vids to spoiled yourself with.
Just read todays prep magpie to get your Hartmut fix.
The video feels like a meme itself. Stating the exact opposite of how the chapters were.
it's only a season since ferdinand left Ehrenfest but why did i feel it like forever....ooooohhhh nnnoooooo.......

Subscription costs are just too high? 🤔
The Supreme Empress cares not about such insignificant considerations. Subscribe, punk.
