less male characters ._. and that's why i probably goin to skip most if not all character in natlan exept for Columbina or Capitano depending on their kit and if they became playble.

Bruhhhhh. There's already way less male characters than female. And they're reducing it even more?? What the hell.. I really hate the stupid waifu bait after waifu bait with suggestive voicelines or cutscenes or whatever the hell else. The guys, usually, have much better story and characterization, and are honestly better imo. Though recently female characters have been getting better, it's still annoying how much they push stupid ass ships and fanservice. Just give us male lovers more characters, please!!

Its kinda odd because we know its false at least for natlan.
Fontaine had 3 male 5*s and 2 male 4*s.
Natlan will have Xbalanque, Capitano and Kinich as male 5*s and Oloron as a likely 4*.
Then you gotta factor in the characters that get made up on the spot like sethos and we will probably end up with the same ratio again.
Maybe this is about sneznaya but that will likely have the remaining harbingers which again have a few males with playable models.
The reason the game isnt getting many players is because of the horrible primogem system, they seem to be focusing on the wrong things, primos and resin need to be focused on but theyre trying their hardest to ignore it

Enemy Drops increased and surprise, it's the Enemies you have farmed thousands of times since the beginning of the game, have enough no longer need their materials. So yeah, keep grinding for the new Characters.
the only reason that we are 100% getting a log in event is because of the anniversary. Not because they are being "generous", which is not a surprise at this point.

That is of course, if they don’t give the anniversary rewards early. If the anniversary is in 5.1, then hopefully we are lucky and get a log in event in 5.0 also. My apologies, I kept mixing up my friends birthday (September 15th) with genshin’s anniversary.

If world lvl increase does happen they need to make it easier to lvl up ar lvl like make world 8 players get more ar xp or lower xp requirements
53% male players, 47% female players make up the playerbase. Most spend on both but male character revenue would go up if they stopped giving us so much time to save for them. Except for 4.1, it has never cost me more than $500 to C6, R2 a male character on release because I wind up with tens of thousands of primos already sitting there.
The lowest selling banners of Wanderer/Baizhu still topped all games but HSR in sales. Love and Keeps pace makes hella money with husbandos only and it has combat and attractive female NPCs in it.
The worst selling characters are Yoimiya, kokomi, eula and Keqing

Huh, I don't know how to feel about the male characters bit. On one hand, it's great for waifu collectors like me, but that also means I can't get them all in the future (I have all girls except Dehya). That said, I'm kinda curious about the reasoning behind it. I get that they're appealing to male audience with this, but I do think Genshin has a sizeable female audience thus far. Why the shift now?

Less male characters, whyyy? I usually pull predominantly for male characters, for female characters out of necessity (like Furina, her buff was too great to ignore). And that’s because I hate the oversexualization in games in general, Genshin included. Like WuWa’s infamous “jiggle physics”? I have bigger breasts, looking at the characters in WuWa physically hurts me (cause if you didn’t know, unsupported breast jiggle hurts, it pulls on your skin). It’s not my favoutite thing to look at all the female character’s panties while exploring. I love playing Jean and I’m still waiting for father’s rerun to get her.

I suspect you secretly talk about Snowbreak, this game already became whole toxin and even the developers and all of those male players, without any male characters, most of characters looked n@ked with some paintings on their skin, lolis with bigger b00bs, sucked gameplay, ruined characteristics, supporting s#xism etc. It's just like developers can't wait for let the whole world know about it's a h4nt@i .Recently, I heard that most of the seiyuus started breaking the contraction for voicing the characters in Snowbreak and the developers needs to find another new seiyuus now.

Most of what determines whether a character sells well is just powerlevel. Neuv sold well cuz he is strong, wrio didnt sell cuz he is mid and con dependent.
Lyneys sales are mostly impacted by being a chargebow character who most people dont like playing.

Yeah, I don't get why some people are so against us being upset about less males. There already are so little games like Genshin that has males in them compared to wifu's who have whole games with only them in it like HI3rd and Blue Archive. And Genshin reducing the amount of males we'll get doesn't give me much hope for other Gacha games in the future. As someone that leans more towards male characters it kinda makes me sad, but hey what can we do about it? Females sell beter. That's just how it is. I'll just pull for the characters I like and hope Star rail wont reduce the amount of males in the nearby future.

Most story driven games don’t let you skip everything like wuwa does lol, that’s why most Genshin players actually have a clue what’s happening in the story. Skip button isn’t a good thing in story games unless it’s revisiting content you’ve seen already. I don’t think hoyo will ever add one, honestly hope they don’t.
I understand it when it comes to archon quests, but they could really add a skip button to world quests..

Its weird how genshin players assume genders on the basis of what characters people play with. I am a straight male who mains Wrio, Alhaitham & some female characters too. But since I play with Wrio most of the time, people just assume that I am a girl.
I have played multiple non-gachas in the past but never got judged by what characters I am playing with.
its more of the fanbase. From their pov they will do what needs to be done to maximize the fanbase and income and due to that they will cater more to the majority than the minority. For genshin there are a significantly amount of males in the fanbase and therefore they will cater to their needs

We already had a smaller roster of male characters and they're gonna reduce it even further? That sucks. As a former Hi3 player, I really liked having both male and female characters in a game. Honestly, any recent news about Genshin, apart from Natlan itself, has been disappointing. They better not do this in Star Rail in the future.

But the merit of male character banner is that, it give me the plenty of room to save up my gems by skipping male banners so that I can focus on female banners. Therefore, the reduction of male characters is kind of bad news to me as well.

It's what I feared... If the WL goes up, that will mean the max level of Abyss enemies is going to go up, which means people who play the Abyss will likely HAVE to level up their characters in order to beat it. And all that grinding... Yikes.
And I doubt the enemy drop rates is increased significantly to compensate. The drop rates listed will help new players only.

Just give me Capitano and I'm done, but make him lore_accurate strong and not some average dude who can be easily beaten by a silly looking girl type character. I’m very happy that I enjoy design for both character genders but I do prefer male as a male. I am for sure pulling Kinich and Citlali but everyone else I’ll prob skip or get reruns such as wrio, shenhe and Kokomi, Cyno if available to! I’m very sad we don’t have many men. And no AR increase, tbh the mora u get from exp at AR 60 is negligible, it's better to increase AR cap instead that would finally make AR 60 players to play regularly if they are the type to max level themselves.

From some genshin news in my country, they said that because male characters have worse sale than female characters, Hoyo just gonna pulled that discrimination card and making less of it, from 1:1 to maybe 1:5
I really don't get it, if they want a character to sell well it's either
A. Make the character hot

B. Make the character really REALLY strong
They been doing this in Star Rail too. Jiaoqiu a upcoming 5 star male that was originally the best partner for Acheron as a buffer is now at best barely better than his female 4 star alternative, Pela, by only a slight amount. They nerfed him, like, 5 times for literal no reason.
Simple answer. The playerbase consists more guys than girls. So since the start female characters sell way more than male characters. The only exceptions are zhongli and Neuvilette. The reason? Zhongli is the archon of liyue and liyue is china. Genshin is a Chinese game. And Neuvilette is insanely strong. And Chinese players tend to make a game pay 2 win and as easy as possible. That's why they got so triggered in the Neuvilette nerf. (Another example is they review bombed Elden ring DLC because they couldn't use cheats because of the strong anti cheat elden ring uses) So they either have to release male characters that powercreep everyone which will make the game more imbalanced or release more hot female characters to increase sales. They chose the latter.
That's odd considering the worst selling characters are waifus. The best selling ones are the ones they stacked advantages on. Also, add to the fact that the best supports for male DPS, they made females. They're trying to make male pullers pull for waifus.

Males get disproportionately more traffic on western social media so your perception of their popularity is extremely skewed. But when it comes to actual sales, they consistently sell less than females, so it's understandable that hoyo would pander more to waifu rollers.
