Dude this was soooo helpful! Thank you so much. Also, I had to watch it multiple times cause I was jamming to the badass beat in the background. So dope
I really appreciate you taking the time to share while getting your own project done. I have what appears to be the same exterior walls as you, and I found the studs like you did. I've been confused however by DIY advice telling me to buy expansion anchors instead of drilling/screwing for/into a stud. I still don't understand the disconnect, but I am glad to see you demonstrating how to get to the stud.
I always appreciate family man doing his own work . Might not be accepted as perfect compare to skilled tradesmen’s work but hey at lest doing it yourself will save you bucks .
Bruh!!!! This video is super helpful!!! I have been wanting to mount something on the side of my stucco house, but have been put off because of not knowing where studs are, and I couldn't find anything online either! Thanks a million for making this...absolutely outstanding!!!!!
thank you so much, i want to hang a door awning going into the garage. Seen a picture it installed but i have stucco and want it to look more pleasant so want to add board frame and then the awning on that.
Thank you! This is exactly what I needed to know - how to locate the stud on a stucco wall and what drill bits and screws to use. Now I can continue my "covid" project!
I think I would have drilled the holes into the 2x4 first, then positioned the 2x4 on the wall and used the holes in the wood to mark the correct spots for the anchors on the wall, then drilled the holes into the wall. Also, good comments about using silicone around the holes to prevent moisture intrusion.
Great video I’m looking for part 2. My only suggestion is to maybe add a sealant to keep out water and termites in your house, I’ve seen neoprene seals used between new mount and the house.
Awesome vid bud! I’m throwing up a pergola this spring off the back of my house that has stucco as well and now I know how to find the studs and how deep I need to drill. Thanks champ! 🏆
tapcons only should be used in solid masonry, traditional plastic in hollow, and you should use a good ol' lag bolt since your going into the stud 🤙the stucco is just a medium, the wood is what's holding the actual screw
Thanks for the video. Quick question. If I want to hang something off an outdoor stucco column of my house, which already had gutter brackets with 3/16” 2 1/2” screws drilled into it (so I’m guessing it’s plywood beneath it), would I use a 1/8” carbide drill bit to go all the way through the stucco and wood and then screw a 3/16” screw into the 1/8” hole in the stucco, or would that risk cracking the stucco? Or would I drill a bigger hole through the stucco and then a smaller hole into the wood behind it so the screw won’t put outward pressure on the stucco? What do you think? Thanks in advance for any feedback on this.
Nice video. I'm getting ready to mount a TV on our patio wall and I had envisioned doing this the way you showed, i.e, finding the studs from the inside first and then marking them on the outside but nice to see great minds think alike and I will use a tapcon drill bit as well. Thanks! I don't understand the thumbs down that good videos like yours get. It's a nice quality video with great information so what's not to like? People are idiots.
I appreciate it brother... Its one of the first of many videos and it a starting point so i understand. I am very appreciative and if you would like to see any other diy let me know. I do something different to ths house almost every week
I didn't notice any sealing against water. You drilled a hole into the stucco, so water can now possibly get in. Aren't you suppose to caulk or seal around the holes prior to mounting the wood? Also, and maybe you don't need to do this but shouldn't you use a blade bit to drill a small recession for a washer as well, making it stronger and sealing that at the end?
Can a hammer drill into drywall as well? I am looking for a drill to drill some holes into stucco ( to hang a patio curtain rod) and also drywall (to hang wall art, curtain rods). 🤷♀️ I don’t want to buy two drills. I read the hammer drills into stucco without any cracks.
A hammer drill will drill through faster. I just wanted to see if it was possible to do so with out the drill. I would recommend a normal drill for dry wall. The difference between the two is the hammer drill bit spins with a woodpecker effect. Sorry for the delay in answer.
HI! What Dewalt drill did you use that had enough power to do this job? I"m looking for a new drill and would rather get 1 than having to get a hammer drill too. Thanks!
Not very helpful. You drove the screws through the wood using the same drill bit or did you change it? It can't be the same drill bit. Plus you have this loud rap music going on in the background, couldn't hear much.
Well done!!! nothing as satisfying as seeing that bubble right between the lines!!! Thanks for the post!
Yes indeed... You can tell I was sort of shocked myself
Dude this was soooo helpful! Thank you so much. Also, I had to watch it multiple times cause I was jamming to the badass beat in the background. So dope
You got a thumbs up because of the band-aid. This dude is like, “let’s go! I’m making content. No excuses!” Also, lovely family.
Yeah bro.. I was like im only gonna do this once lol.
Nice, very well executed and explained. Thank you sir.
Very helpful video!
If I may suggest, don’t be shy and speak louder. You got skills my friend.
Most definitely appreciate it brother
This video imo is the video needed for drilling stucco

Rah Brother!!! Just what I needed to see for the wife mounting some used pallets on the wall for a garden jar planter along our garage.
I always appreciate family man doing his own work . Might not be accepted as perfect compare to skilled tradesmen’s work but hey at lest doing it yourself will save you bucks .
Yes indeed brother and the satisfaction of walking by it and saying I did that.

That means alot boss please subscribe... If you have anything else you want to see let me know...
@@westcutzyoung3187 That simple tip has been vary helpful for me installing new awning on the front of my house. Thanks.
Once I seen the Nelly bandaid I knew I could trust this man 🤣
Also great energy, I’m loving the hard work!
Hi Westcutz, thank you for posting. Learned a LOT about what I was doing wrong and how to do things right. Appreciate the Post!
Glad I could help there is always more than way to skin a cat.

I needed this to
I'm glad I was able to help out. Tell me what other projects you're working on.
i guess it's kinda randomly asking but does anybody know of a good place to watch newly released movies online?
@Sullivan Crosby meh try flixportal. Just google for it :P -jamie
@Jamie Tristan thank you, signed up and it seems like they got a lot of movies there :D I really appreciate it !

I hadn't even thought of finding the stud from INSIDE my home. BRILLIANT!
Glad I could assist
Same!!!
Awesomeness
Awesome vid bud! I’m throwing up a pergola this spring off the back of my house that has stucco as well and now I know how to find the studs and how deep I need to drill. Thanks champ! 🏆
Not a problem at thanks for the like
love the jacket I got a green al deid one 👌
Smart idea to find the stud location from the inside. That suspense 007 music though :)
You should put a ring of waterproof silicone around the holes in stucco then attach the 2x4.
Thank you for the inspiration
Hey! Thanks for this, I'm about to start a project at the house and was looking for any kind of information before I start and this helped, thanks!
I hope the project came out well brother.
Just what I was looking for👍👍

Homie had to add weight to his bench to make the video lol
Hahaha... naw man it's an old bench and that only like 170... I keep the weights off the floor...
Good Job Brother.....
Something tells me this man was either a Corpsman or a Marine and then I watched it to the end!
Most definitely a corpsman. Do me a favor and subscribe brother.
Only cause corpsman have a special place with us Mayreens
The med bag hanging up on the garage screamed corpsman lol!
@@Jesse-jc4vv i coulda swore it was the green marpat shirt lol... Preciate the love devil... Semper fi
A little trouble hearing your voice but otherwise a good how to. Thanks 👍

If I don't have a hammer drill, can I use masonry drill bits to drill through stucco?
It will work the same just a lil more time
Dude can’t hear you with all the music🤦♂️
The beat makes me wanna freestyle
Helpful. Thanks
Thanks man. This is helpful.
Much appreciation man
Super helpful.

So what did you hang on it in the end?
I put a storage rack on the side of the house it came out pretty well and still is holding strong.

Great observation... So what I did was seal/caulk the wood its self to the wall... I put storage up on the wall and insulated the wood
Bout to build a porch thankyou
Nice shirt!
nice vid,
what was the size of the bit you used to drill into the wall? and what screw was used to mount the 2x4 to the wall
My apologies for the long off reply. The drill bit was a 5/32 and 4 inch long. I used tapcom screws as well.

Westcutz Young thanks for your reply. I bought a hammer drill that can switch to normal as well.
@@mountain-view310 That sounds like something I should invest in.
Your voice audio is super quiet yet you still have background music. Audio issues.
Do I need a special drill or just a special bit?
Thanks for sharing
HI! What Dewalt drill did you use that had enough power to do this job? I"m looking for a new drill and would rather get 1 than having to get a hammer drill too. Thanks!
Hey 20Vmax... Dewalts produce a good amount of power so most of my tools or dewalt
Rhythm was a nice touch, but couldn’t hear a word you were saying. These hearing aids don’t work well with a lot of background noise.
Thank you make more of this ????
Will do Ive been deployed and just getting back in the swing of things
Nice job, thanks
I appreciate the support brother
Do you only recommend working on stucco at night?
Yessir... my neighbor won't see me buckin the job up
Hammer drill?
are those old school cement weights? lol
Good video bro. You don't mind me asking you what state you live on? Thanks in advance....
CA
why do you have Takeoff's face? 😂
Ooh rah brother
I couldn't hear anything or explanation of what you were trying to accomplish
my man, look into a sds drill not that cost about 100$ from ryobi
D-Walt drill, like I said 😅
Thank you
Unnecessary music, kind of difficult hearing what you're saying. I still gave the video a 👍🏽
1:17 why u out uh breff?
Music too loud, voice too low. Can't hear what you're saying.
A suggestion for your future videos. Work on the audio presentation. It was like you were afraid to talk very loud to wake up the baby...lol.
I'll take that in to consideration. Got be quieter than the drill lol
Can’t hear him with the music background
Hard to hear his voice explaining things. Music is louder than he is.
cant hear you at all
Not very helpful. You drove the screws through the wood using the same drill bit or did you change it? It can't be the same drill bit. Plus you have this loud rap music going on in the background, couldn't hear much.
👍🏻
Hope he not hanging up any more than that two by four on those thin flimsy screws he used, come on now!
Bad audio. Can’t understand a word.
Poor job, will leak at holes drilled into stucco
Couldnt tell what you were doing wasnt very educational. It lacked tutorial style of teaching big time
Been working on presentation brother
Audio 👎
This is very true... I have new equipment since then hopefully future videos are better
next time wait till daylight to make video; no rush to making youtube videos
