Nice Good Info 👍🏻 But is there another External SSD with higher speeds ? Whats the SSD Speed on S23 Ultra & iPhone 15 pro max ? Is it same as T9 or higher/lower ? Is it compatible with USB 4.0 ?
This is a difficult question as it depends on what type of USB or Thunderbolt connection your computer has and the USB/Thunderbolt version the external SSD has. For example, the T9 is a very fast drive if your computer has a USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 port. Unfortunately many computers don't have a USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 port. If yours doesn't and has a USB 3.2 Gen 2 port, you will get about half the speed the T9 is capable of. Hence, you might as well get the T7 which is cheaper. You could also add a USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 card ($30) to your computer. The fastest external drive I know of is SanDisk Professional PRO-G40 External SSD. This is a Thunderbolt 3 drive. Hence it will work on computers that have Thunderbolt 3 or 4 ports. Most new Macs should have these ports, but very few PCs will. Hence this drive is formatted for Macs, but can be reformatted for PCs. In short, this would be the fastest external drive for most Macs, but will probably not work on PCs as they usually don't have Thunderbolt ports. This is changing though as newer PCs are often now coming with a USB 4 / Thunderbolt 4 ports. Another option for a super fast external drive is to buy a NVME drive and put it in a portable enclosure. But, again, you will need a port on your computer that supports the enclosure. Another thing to keep in mind is that fast external drives get hot. When they get too hot, the drive will throttle its speed and slow down. As for the S23, I have a S23 Ultra and its USB transfer speed is disappointing. I don't have a iPhone, so I don't know its transfer speed, but I do know the newest one (iPhone 15 Pro) has an USB 3.2 gen 2 port, so it should be as fast as S23, but apparently you will not get the top USB file transfer speed out of the box as they only include a USB 2 charging cable, so you will have to buy a USB 3.2 Gen 1 cable or Apple's $69 Thunderbolt cable to realize its top transfer speed. This raises another important point: you also need to also have the right USB or Thunderbolt cable to realize your phone or SSD's file transfer speed. Use a USB 2 charging cable and you will get about a 1/4 the speed of a drive like the T9. In closing, to achieve the speed your external drive is capable of, you need the right cable and right USB or Thunderbolt port on your computer.
Oh my bad, I mistook your comment for some other product by accident since I wasn’t commenting in the YT app actually. Yeah, that sucks. Factory reset deletes everything. Well, I would say have it written down somewhere as a backup. For instance, I don’t forget my passwords, even though some are way above 20 characters long but just in case, O have it stored somewhere safe. You also have those password vaults where you could save it.
Hvala puno na komentaru. Ah da, što da ti kažem. Cijene su takve, ali kada uzmemo u obzir Samsung i njihove SSD-ove u globalu, tu nema premca jer su izdržljivi i traju stvarno dugo...
Got an iPhone 15 Pro and was thinking of getting a T7 but saw video's of heating and dropouts and thought the T9 might be a better choice, lower idle power of T9 versus T7, any thoughts, not sure if T7 Shield is as good as the T9 for the iPhone 15 Pro
I saw someone using T9 with iPhone 15 Pro, but I can't remember who or when. It was just a glimpse, but unfortunately can't test it out for you. Honestly, my thoughts, if it works on BMPCC without heating up or frame drops, should be ok for 15 Pro as well.
@@MdeeSaif What is the point of a video, if you just skip to the comment section and ask a question that is explained in the video... Comments, at least in my opinion, are here if something ISN'T EXPLAINED or you have ADDITIONAL question... 🤣
wonder if the M1/M2 Apple computers will see the full 2000mb potential? doesn't work with the equally rated Sandisk 4tb rated the same, see about 900mb r/w
@@SplinterTM_ correct. The 2000mb only render 900mb. Do you have any insight if these T9s will see full potential of their claimed 2000mb r/w on Apple M1/M2 systems?
The 2000mb only works for USB 3.2 gen 2x2. It's very hard to come by a computer that supports this standard, even top MacBooks support USB 4.0 and not 3.2 gen 2x2.
New to portable ssd's here...can you transfer files back and forth between mobile and ssd??
Honestly, I haven't tried it. Sorry.
You can on Android it works like a wonder specially on Samsung

What if I forgot my pass
What about my data isn't that safe then 🤔
They are safe from you I guess then. :) Why would you forget your password? You can reset it, simple... ;)
How can it be possible to recover our data after resetting password

It doesn’t work with my Imac. It doesn’t take advantage of the thunderbolt 4 ports. You only get half speed and it gets hot!
Hi, can you install Linux and boot from this ssd? Thanks
Pohvala za video i testiranje. Ali ako će koštati 150€, meni malo preskupo

What does it really 🤔 i mean is this a storage type things like pendrive or memory card. 🤔
I think I explained that part in the video. :P
