*OH. MY. GOD.* I bought this album when it very first came out (guess I was 'round 25 'r so?) & this was one of my favorites. To watch this video gives me an amazing new window on how talented Jello Biafra really was (in his own rather limited manner), not to mention the rest of the group. That drummer was killin' it!. P.S. Anyone else here in 2024? Buzzcocks anyone? :) *THANK YOU FOR POSTING. LOVE IT.*

The band didn't sell out. They broke up after Bedtime for Democracy and the Alternative Tentacles obscenity trial. Ray, Klaus and Peligro later reformed the band without him because Jello cheated his former bandmates out of royalties. They hadn't been getting shit, so they won the DK name in court and took themselves back on the road in order to get SOMETHING out of the legacy they'd created. While I don't consider that new iteration the true Dead Kennedys, I don't blame the guys for doing it. "Punk rock cred" does not provide for retirement.

Seeing video of the guys in the studio, it's no wonder the other three loathe Jello. They were a great band, but their chemistry was always volatile.

Well, I am not as radical as the guy you answered to, but they dont give it for free, not indirectly! They do a lot of merchandising that you need to watch for at least 5 seconds to close. Ok, what is a 5 sec waiting? Nothing, but by doing this, they make money each time you watch a video!
