It wasnt about slavery... It was about defending their southern homeland... They hated that washington dictated them their type of urban living... They lived their southern way and The Union disrupted it. Even Jefferson Davis said they were about to abolis hthe slavery in the future but they needed time to prepare beacause that was the only way they made an economic income... GLORY TO FALLEN CONFEDERATE SOLDIERS WHO FOUGHT FOR THEIR HOMES!
Nevermind the fact that the South for years was effectively shitting on States' Rights via stuff like the Fugitive Slave Act and and Free Speech by confiscating/burning abolitionist pamphlets and newspapers, got away with it for decades since slaves gave them huge influence in Congress seats/in the Electoral College and economic power to the top plantation owners who would barely make even 1% of the South's population, and how the Dred Scott case effectively pissed all over the dignity of any Black person's rights and the constant compromises made to get the South to shut the fuck up. They only started the "States' Rights" echo chamber 20 years after the war ended. Nevermind the majority of Southern Politicians wanting to expand slavery across the newly-acquired territories, if not parts of Latin America, too, and many Republicans + Lincoln would've been content with just keeping slavery where it was. Nevermind all the CSA states' constitutions saying that they left due to slavery, Alexander Stephens stating it was due to slavery, slavery outmentioning tariffs tenfold in Virginia debates, the free black civilians Lee took when going on his Maryland and Pennsylvania campaigns, and that after Blacks were accepted into the Union Army, the Confederacy stated that if captured, those troops would be either enslaved or executed, the latter of which was done on places such as Ft. Pillow and the Battle of the Crater. Nevermind the 99% in the South who accepted slavery either in the unlikely hopes that they can buy them in the future or that it gave them someone lower than them on the social ladder. Nevermind how Georgia treated the Cherokee, even though the latter had effectively embraced the Southern lifestyle and won a Supreme Court battle against the state, only for Jackson to turn a blind eye to Georgians kicking out the Cherokee anyways once gold got discovered. This wasn't about them defending their homeland or states' rights. This was about their way of life, one of being the abusive and greedy roommate to the North who left the moment someone who could even stall their hopes of expanding their aristocratic institution of slavery got elected.
Deo Vindice! The Russians, raising against ukrainian' nazis in Donbass, fought their way back to their Motherland Russia under the flag, looking exactly like the battle flag of the Confederation not by chance. As far as I know the Southern Cross is not greeted now by US officials - but it became one of the official flags in Russia, loved and respected by most of the Russians. I have a lot of friends who reconstruct the uniforms, weapons and tactics of almost all periods of history, your Civil war is among them. Though this period is very popular, the fans use to say that it is very hard to "reconstruct" the battles - practically no volunteers to play the roles of yankees....
My brother, as an American of the South, Russians looking into and relating with the Confederacy is absolutely fascinating. You are not the only one I've heard talk about this. It's funny, but at the same time I get it. Deo Vindice, my friend!

очень хорошая песня. спасибо)
See, even americans have their redemptive moments.
So true❤
Alabama is my home state
And Tennessee
Hurrah'
CONFEDERATE !!!!
this song is a sad one.
Long live Confederacy and the South
Great video well done What was interesting the North sang Kill that Rebel Solder ETHIER WAY IT WAS A AWFULL WAR
This song is great and I still quite like God "(s] and generals Gettysburg and Lincoln. Haven't seen the others.
I really like the theme of the American Civil War. Give me another one so that you don't have to do anything else.
THE SOUTH WILL RAISE AGAIN 💯😊

died of a theory
Interesting, civil war reenactments are also in Russia? And more people wanna be on the rebel side than the yankee side? Very interesting
My brother, as an American of the South, Russians looking into and relating with the Confederacy is absolutely fascinating. You are not the only one I've heard talk about this. It's funny, but at the same time I get it. Deo Vindice, my friend!
Ironic, because Russia was the very country whose support for the Union effectively discouraged France and the UK from backing the Confederacy until the end.
Southern DEMOCRATS.
No surprise Russians want to emulate them.
это флаг Новороссия - хороший что тебе это нравиться. Слава россия, да здравствует конфедеративные штаты америки
Gob bless the south our cause wasn’t lost. We won it on Election Day state rights and freedom from federal government. That’s what the war was about I hope we can freely honor our ancestors without being called racist
вот были люди! настоящие
👍👍
The Yankees won but somehow the concept of the poor man fighting the rich mans war prevailed. What happened there?
