Oh yellow river was roaring alright. Towards the chinese towns. People dont like CCP but RoC were also far from being flawless. Their incompetency is their biggest blowback.
At least they tried. It was actually a stroke of genius if one ignores all of the dead and suffering it left in their wake, as it did actually stall the japanese for a while.
Honestly considering how they had to retreat over and over again Im surprised that they were able to hold off the Japanese while at the same time keeping China somewhat in order. Of course though they were absolutely not perfect
Chiang Kai Shek banned this song in Taiwan(it remained banned from 1949 until 1987 when it was lifted as apart of the ending of martial law), so the KMT of the time would lynch over associating them with this song. The poet who made the lyrics, Xian Xinghai, was an ardent communist and its about communist aligned rebels in 1938 fighting against the Japanese invaders. This is a certified CCP classic
That's because it was lol. It came from the chinese communist musical "the east is red" displaying the chinese communist revolution and the fight against japan
Yes, the Chinese in WW2 used stalhelms and German field caps since the Germans supplied the Chinese with weapons and gear at the beginning of the Chinese civil war.
The true China as in the Peoples Republic? Considering the person who wrote the lyrics for this was a communist and this song is specifically about the communist aligned 18th Group Army in 1938 fighting the Japanese invaders.
@@NeoEngel-pc1bd And that's it for the fighting any communists in China did during the Sino-Japanese War. The overwhelming majority of Chinese communists just hid in the mountains while the Chinese Nationalists fought to protect China. Mao himself said he was glad the Japanese invaded because they weakened the KMT enough for the communists to take over (and then failed to invade Taiwan twice after the true Chinese government fled there in exile).
@@luewang6977 It's not a lie. It's history. The KMT did the overwhelming majority of the fighting against the Japanese. It's why the CCP was even able to win the Chinese Civil War. Read some history that isn't written by the party of Mao.
Because the song itself was created in the Republic of China in the army that was literally on the Yellow River. It was a nationalist army, but the song was important to the partisans and defenders of both the KMT and CCP.😊They, as opponents, reconciled to defend their homeland against the Japanese invader.
