I agree, saying no is necessary at times to maintain your peace. Without a reason either, I just can't make it. We have to know our limits and let the Lord lead us as well.
You are out here everyday giving you to everyone and everything. It is ok to say no to somethings and take care of yourself. When I turned 40 that’s when I started to have a voice and started really being in tuned with what I want and what I don’t want in my life. Never stop being you. You are an amazing person doing amazing things! ❤
I totally agreed with the people pleasing in the church. We connect people please with being a good servant of the Lord. Learning boundaries helped me balance that out.
My daughter introduced me to the term "toxic positivity." The church is good for toxic positivity by sugar coating everything and making you believe that you need to "help out" and have your hands in EVERYTHING in the church. If there is grumbling and complaining then they paint the issue over with toxic positivity. Do you, take time for you and be free to be you! Who the Lord sets free is free indeed! BE FREE!
Learning people pleasing growing up in the church is a real thing. I am 52 years old and growing up my mom was the superintendent of the Sunday school. I got volunteered for all sorts of things when she was in those meetings...lol, but real talk, I did learn about perfectionism and pleasing others at church. My dad used to tell my mom that other people could do things at church too and the doors wouldn't close if she said no sometimes.

Whew Rayna, I loooved hearing you talk about people pleasing!! I turned 30 a couple of months ago, and I have been slowly learning the hard way that taking care of myself always has to be my number 1 concern. I'm not saying I won't try my best to be there for others, but there are so many factors that go into that and, sometimes, I have to choose myself. With that being said, I've had to find ways to get over the anxiety wrapped around what others may think of me because at the end of the day, if I don't take care of myself then how can I be there for anybody at all?
Amen on the churchy people pleasing. I didn't realize how toxic I had let it become. I have to sleep after service about every Sunday because I push past several ailments, pains, and fatigue just to get there.

You do not need alot of product (I create hold) Innersense. I am on a budget but I switched to all their products and it's healthier on the hair and save because I don't use anything else. Except the K-18 leave in .

Love that you all work out together. The toxic people pleasing/sacrafice of self, etc. I can not & won't do anymore. I feel that displeases God more than anything. Not being true to yourself/ who God made you to be is blasphemous. Group think is also very dangerous; just as dangerous as generational "curses". In fact we're all supposed to be different w/ the common denominator of God w/in that should keep us in line & aligned w/ the most high.
