I am a pastor and in years past dealt with depression. But worship music is my go to. There is power is music and I want to edify my Spirt . Back in day I have listen to some trash . Glad to see creators that do their thing and give glory to the Lord🙌🏽🙏🏽✝️♥️
Yes indeed! As a woman of a particular age myself, I too have begun to make this shift. I say begun because ya girl ain’t perfect. If an old r&b classic sneaks through on the playlist, you just might get this body roll. Lol but actively seeking the things that are of God and being intentional about what I watch and listen to has given me so much clarity and allowed me to hear God more clearly. Setting my mind on things above has come with a sense of isolation but that’s exactly what it’s supposed to do. After all, God calls us to be set apart. We are not of this world. ❤

Girl I am with you! I hardly ever listen to secular music anymore. Gospel settles my spirit so much and I need that more than anything else. I keep it on maverick city musics pandora and built my playlist from there. If I’m not in the mood for music I just rode in silence and it has helped me so much

I too am blessed with a discerning spirit; it is something what God allows us to see in others. The only secular music I listen to is old school songs (like back in the 70s and some 80s) there are some songs from now that are nice like Corinne Bailey Rae. We're in the same boat cousin (I'm a Lawson). I don't listen to world music at all and I have a play list for when I really get into working out. I listen to a lot of the artists you listen to when working out but right now I'm also loving Tye Tribbett's NEW cd and some Chandler Moore and Maverick City songs. Detrick Hadden will get you moving if you need something to bump to when you trying to get that heart rate up.

I stopped listening to secular music a few years ago and have never went back! My radio stays on NGEN radio now! It's so refreshing! I don't have to worry about my kids singing about drugs or sex or money, they sing along about Jesus and to them, that's the mainstream music! Lol

I FEEL this more than you know. I don’t know many new artist, many of them are not my cup of tea. I grew up on secular ❤ LOVE ❤️ music. When I had my first son in 2000 I started listening to more gospel especially in the car because the radio 😢. Then I got XM radio in my new car. I believe that we must guard our eye and ear gates as the Bible instructs us too.
Im an 80s baby, so I understand. On a personal note, in my Christian walk; I was also struggling between Gospel music and Secular music. In my 20s I started to realize that Main-stream Christianity taught me how to be religious in my teens. Now, in my 30s. I allow Jesus to dictate to me who, he wants me to listen to and be influenced by, and his picks are not always in the mainstream Gospel media. Because we as Christians know who has dominion over the earth. We need to allow Jesus to be our Lord over our decisions. Not everyone is about that holy lifestyle, it shows up in the fruit. Besides Jesus wants us to guard our hearts and be renewed in our minds. Jesus knows about the hearts of men. I don't, so that is why, in all my ways I have to acknowledge Him and he will direct my path. Be bless in Jesus Name.

I FEEL this more than you know. I don’t know many new artist, many of them are not my cup of tea. I grew up on secular ❤ LOVE ❤️ music. When I had my first son in 2000 I started listening to more gospel especially in the car because the radio 😢. Then I got XM radio in my new car. I believe that we must guard our eye and ear gates as the Bible instructs us too.

Im an 80s baby, so I understand. On a personal note, in my Christian walk; I was also struggling between Gospel music and Secular music. In my 20s I started to realize that Main-stream Christianity taught me how to be religious in my teens. Now, in my 30s. I allow Jesus to dictate to me who, he wants me to listen to and be influenced by, and his picks are not always in the mainstream Gospel media. Because we as Christians know who has dominion over the earth. We need to allow Jesus to be our Lord over our decisions. Not everyone is about that holy lifestyle, it shows up in the fruit. Besides Jesus wants us to guard our hearts and be renewed in our minds. Jesus knows about the hearts of men. I don't, so that is why, in all my ways I have to acknowledge Him and he will direct my path. Be bless in Jesus Name.
