Savathun presenting the guardian a Hive Sword, the symbol of the faith imposed upon her race by the Witness, to use against the Witness, is the most amazing piece of irony I’ve ever seen. Leave it to the Hive God of Trickery to send the best ‘fuck you’ to our greatest enemy in the whole franchise.

What comes from the light, returns to the light. I'm sure he was there with you in spirit. Eyes up, Guardian. From one Fireteam leader to another, I wish you well. May you live another ten so you can continue to honor him.
This felt a lot like endgame, one team uprooted and stopped the final shape, forcing the witness to retreat, now an entire armada of sol and coalition forces storm the monolith and end what the raid team started. this was epic and really awesome
It really felt like the end. The witness severed, the traveler free, only one fireteam entered the monolith and gave everyone else the chance to hit the killing blow. Our ghost killed itself just to put an end to the witness. Every race the witness had wronged also stood with us here. Even seeing Zavala accept the darkness not as evil anymore and used stasis. Also the witness truly showed fear here. It was terrified and knew its time was about to end.
I have a theory for why the Unmade track doesn't hit as hard as other raids' final boss encounters. We don't end the witness in the raid; this track is the equivalent of the final boss track because the witness dies in this mission.
Would make sense. But I generally feel like the composers held themselves a little back this time, as if they lacked inspiration to go wild with the themes, compared to Lightfall which I still consider their absolute peak with Discipline and Oneirophobia. Like you cannot get more crazier and inspired than that. Still, Unmade is a great track and so is this.
We thank Fireteam Parabellum for opening the way for us! They were the six that stopped the witness long enough for the rest of us to get in there and kick his final shapely ass!
When I first did the Narrative, everyone was running around like chickens with their heads cut off, and going all over fighting. I was taking a plate alone, when a Subjugator and 40+ Taken come over, I thought I was cooked, then out of the blue I see a Blade Barrage, Two Titan Shields, and a Burst of Lightning and saw the enemies in front of me stagger or disintegrate, I turn and see Lucent Guardians and Luzaku on my flank, and I knew right then an there I had that fight in the bag.
So, the Witness dies in a story mission... but it's a post-raid mission (but not tied to the player completing the raid) AND it's the first ever 12 man activity? Okay, I'll take that!
Imagine being Worlds First and you hear Zavala talk about a fireteam breaking into the Monolith and all that then knowing that’s you. You are that fireteam. Crazy.
