Ren is just a street kid from a small town in Wales, UK. He spent years fighting both mental illness, and Lyme disease. He taught himself guitar, and found that he was a wordsmith. Music has pretty much saved him. Ooh...........and he's a bloody genius. Good reaction, man.

Hey for me personally, couldnt be more true.. i was found by ren through the tales of jenny and screech, while beeing homeless and stuck in an abusive relationship.. i sat at my computer in the homeless shelter room, while my boyfriend screamed at me, just klicked anything not planning to really watch it just to pretent i dont listen or care what he screams (death threats.. often nearly word for word what violett heared.. do you think i wanna do this... you liar.. and so on..) and than the story began to suck me in, doesnt matter the screaming partner it sucked me right in.... and than when violetts tale confronted me , i was somehow shook straight. i had prepared to leave for the last 3 of 10 years relationship but it was never the right time as it seemed.... but not 48 hours after listening to the tales first time, i left him and stayed alone while homeless which should feel scary but actually felt safer than in my shelter room with my friend... i found an own new flat after couple months than. i am split now for as long the video is out, but he still searches me, asks other homeless persons for my whereabout... but they dont tell him, they know i dont wanna be found by him cuz hes really crazy. So yeah.. i can confirm, Rens music found me at the exact right moment, to make me leave and survive. Greetings from germany! I used to say that too but now I think Troubles should be next. Just think for new reactors it provides the perfect backstory to get them up to speed on his medical struggles and answers a lot of the questions reactors have after hearing Hi Ren.
I actually found you watching Ren's Kujo Beat Down. Ren wasn't in the military. He just had a really hard life. He got Lyme disease in his late teens and was misdiagnosed for many years which left him bed bound for up to 23 his a day. He was diagnosed with bipolar which obviously wasn't the case but he knew it was something else. He spent a lot of time and money trying to find out what the problem was and was finally diagnosed correctly a few years ago but the damage was already done. He had massive damage to his body and brain. He was gifted a stem cell transplant by a doctor in the US that helped a lot and has gone through major treatments in Canada over the last year and a half. He just moved back to the UK recently. The only thing I've found that he can't do is dribble a basketball. 😂 That will make sense later. Lol He raps, sings, acts, plays multiple instruments, produces his own beats and directs his music videos to name a few talents. In a nutshell, he is an amazing artist. He will amaze you every time you hear a new song and you won't regret falling down this rabbit hole. Welcome to the Reneverse.

I think your question of if Ren ever served in a way makes sense: He never served in any army, but he suffered with unexplained illnesses for years and years. He was gaslit by the medical community (probably not purposely, but it definitely happened) and he most likely suffers serious PTSD from those years of balancing between life and death. I think those scars shine through in his music, and possible that is what you picked up on. His story is incredible, almost as incredible as his art. He went through years of basically torture, and he is still not 100% (Hi Ren is what he made while not 100%, let that sink in!) His song Sick Boi explains a little bit of his struggles, so does his song Troubles. Hope to see you react to more Ren!

I think the "civilian mind" line from the Shadow persona might have led you to wonder about the military, so that's an understandable thing to wonder. I think it's more about the shadow calling him a blind civilian, a sheep who takes whatever pills he's given without questioning.
This is the kind of artistry that gives "broken" people hope. Ren, through this performance piece, has become to a lot of people exactly what he stated in the song, "...the voice that you hear when you loosen the noose on the rope". So powerful, so impactful. Even the song structure itself is incredible. It starts off as a battle between his positive (Angel) and negative (Demon) aspects, the negative then makes an overpowering last ditch effort to reign supreme, tearing free and trying to take control, but ultimately fails as the final act, being the "God" aspect, emerges Triumphant, though still acknowledging and accepting that it will ALWAYS be a battle because we are all "a coin with 2 different sides". It's a beautifully cathartic and raw musical masterpiece. Ren is truly special. Welcome to the Ren rabbit-hole, it's a trip worth taking. This was the 4th take he did and yes, it was done live. Wait until you hear some of his other stuff, especially his storytelling ("The Tale of Jenny & Screech"). You haven't even touched the breadth of this young man's talent yet. The pig character (imo) represents the doctors and therapist who have essentially butchered him for years through their misdiagnosis. It's the system (Capitalism) that focuses on peddling more pills than on genuinely trying to help to fix broken/ill people, caring more about profit than individual health. The bastardization of the hippocratic oath. He literally thought he was going insane because he was told repeatedly that the pain and symptoms he was experiencing were all in his head (psychosomatic). He had reached a point where he literally resigned himself to dying before he reached 30. Turns out he had Lyme's disease the whole time and it ran rampant through his system for almost 10 years, even to the point of causing brain damage. Ironically, if Ren hadn't gone through what he has, would he have ever made the art he has? There's no question that his suffering has shaped his music and now he's finally getting the recognition he undoubtedly deserves. I've said it before, I'll say it again, Ren is special.
I love it when people find the rabbit hole that is ren. His music is fire. He never served in the military he was bitten by a tick which carries lime disease and he was misdiagnosed and the drugs he was given done more damage than good.

There is life before and after hearing HI Ren. I have listened to this song almost every day for about a year and a half. The best thing about it is he is no "one hit wonder." He has 100's of songs, and I am yet to find one that wasn't great!

My perception of Ren's two aspects of his personality are that one side is the anger and the darker parts of him, and the other side is the creativity and all the joyful parts. It's all Ren but there's a duality and contrast. I think anyone who's ever been angry about injustice can relate to his darker side, and anyone who's ever been passionate about something can relate to the hope that the lighter side lives in. If you are looking to dive more into his rap songs, "Hunger" and "Genesis" are my usual go to for some of hia older stuff. "Animal flow" is also good and is newer. Honestly, you really can't go wrong with pretty much all of his songs and he coveres a spectrum of genres.

My friend... Holy smokes! I haven't really seen that kind of excitement over this video since the first time I watched it! It's so great to see a person's face when they first find Ren. And you had a similar reaction to my own when you got to the hope/rope bars. Don't expect all of his stuff to be like this. This is an artist who will not be boxed in. From my perspective, he (and those Ren adjacent aka The Reniverse) has music for any conceivable emotion. Any mood or occasion. As a "for instance" try Back on 74/Message in a Bottle (Live retake). A completely different side of him. Radically different. Then there's The Hunger. I can't even describe it adequately. The flow changes are amazing. Sorry! I could go on forever about Ren songs. Some of my favorites; The Tape of Jenny and Screech, The Hunger, Losing It, Troubles, How To Be Me, Blind Eyed, Seven Sins, Uninvited... I can go on and on. He honestly doesn't have any skips for me. If it's a Ren song, I'm all in. He just doesn't miss. Oh and I forgot to mention he was also in a busking band called The Big Push and they are phenomenal. Also just so you know a little of Ren's backstory... Ren was very ill for almost 10 years. It took doctors that long to find out that he has Lyme's disease. Because of the misdiagnosis and wrong medications given, it caused massive problems which ended up with him having all kinds of physical issues, brain damage, and also bouts of psychosis. He just finished up a year and a half treatment in Canada and there's finally been an upward curve in his health. Through it all he has gained a massive following who helped to give him the number one album in UK last year. I think that you will come to love rent as each of us do. Not only is he amazingly talented but he also seems to be one of the most genuine and kind human beings I have ever witnessed. He is literally the type of person I want my children to grow up to be like. I'm not going to lie, I'm really looking forward to watching your journey in particular because I really liked your vibe. Firstly the cuts from the different takes are easy to spot for those prepared to look with varying gown lengths, hand positions and disappearing mics. Oh and of course there is RENs own description of how he spliced together footage from the four different takes.

I’m a little late, but welcome to the multitalented genius Ren! ❤️ This masterpiece is just the tip of the iceberg. Ren is a relatable voice for everyone dancing in the darkness as he eloquently, with all the authenticity of someone who is painfully familiar with it, lets us know that we are not alone and inspires us to keep dancing. And in doing so, Ren has literally saved lives with his art. Other Renegades will probably recommend songs like Sick Boi and Troubles for insight into his story with illness and years of misdiagnosis. I will just add a suggestion to check out one of my personal favourites that doesn’t get nearly as much attention as it deserves: Crutch feat. Bibi. It’s an older song from before Ren was finally correctly diagnosed with Lyme disease and was written after a breakdown following multiple emergency trips to the hospital. It is heart wrenching and stunning. Man, I've been down the warren of Ren for 20 months. Wish I could do it all over, again. Ren also dropped "Su1cide" right between my cousin's self chosen exit, which shook me beyond what I had experienced in life, and her funeral. Ren is, in one word, phenomenal.

Excellent reaction Tre. You were on top of, or one step ahead of, everything Ren was getting at. My take on it is that you will get nothing but frustration if you try to defeat the demons. You will get equally frustrated aspiring to be an angle. So you must learn to dance between the two. In the beginning he is beaten-down and slumped-over in a wheel chair. At the end he has accepted that he is "only human"; stands-up, sings, and dances his "Happy Dance."

Welcome to the Renegade fam. It has grown tremendously the past couple years. I hear and see 3 characters also and believe they tie into Freud's definition of the human condition. He says there are 3 parts of it...the Id, Ego, and Super ego. The first two fighting are the Id and Superego. The last is the Ego...the actual human who encompasses both. Ren is just a street kid from a small town in Wales, UK. He spent years fighting both mental illness, and Lyme disease. He taught himself guitar, and found that he was a wordsmith. Music has pretty much saved him. Ooh...........and he's a bloody genius. Good reaction, man.

Hey for me personally, couldnt be more true.. i was found by ren through the tales of jenny and screech, while beeing homeless and stuck in an abusive relationship..
i sat at my computer in the homeless shelter room, while my boyfriend screamed at me, just klicked anything not planning to really watch it just to pretent i dont listen or care what he screams (death threats.. often nearly word for word what violett heared.. do you think i wanna do this... you liar.. and so on..)
and than the story began to suck me in, doesnt matter the screaming partner it sucked me right in....
and than when violetts tale confronted me , i was somehow shook straight.
i had prepared to leave for the last 3 of 10 years relationship but it was never the right time as it seemed.... but not 48 hours after listening to the tales first time,
i left him and stayed alone while homeless which should feel scary but actually felt safer than in my shelter room with my friend...
i found an own new flat after couple months than.
i am split now for as long the video is out, but he still searches me, asks other homeless persons for my whereabout... but they dont tell him, they know i dont wanna be found by him cuz hes really crazy.
So yeah.. i can confirm, Rens music found me at the exact right moment,
to make me leave and survive.

I used to say that too but now I think Troubles should be next. Just think for new reactors it provides the perfect backstory to get them up to speed on his medical struggles and answers a lot of the questions reactors have after hearing Hi Ren.

I actually found you watching Ren's Kujo Beat Down. Ren wasn't in the military. He just had a really hard life. He got Lyme disease in his late teens and was misdiagnosed for many years which left him bed bound for up to 23 his a day. He was diagnosed with bipolar which obviously wasn't the case but he knew it was something else. He spent a lot of time and money trying to find out what the problem was and was finally diagnosed correctly a few years ago but the damage was already done. He had massive damage to his body and brain. He was gifted a stem cell transplant by a doctor in the US that helped a lot and has gone through major treatments in Canada over the last year and a half. He just moved back to the UK recently. The only thing I've found that he can't do is dribble a basketball. 😂 That will make sense later. Lol He raps, sings, acts, plays multiple instruments, produces his own beats and directs his music videos to name a few talents. In a nutshell, he is an amazing artist. He will amaze you every time you hear a new song and you won't regret falling down this rabbit hole. Welcome to the Reneverse.

I think your question of if Ren ever served in a way makes sense: He never served in any army, but he suffered with unexplained illnesses for years and years. He was gaslit by the medical community (probably not purposely, but it definitely happened) and he most likely suffers serious PTSD from those years of balancing between life and death.
I think those scars shine through in his music, and possible that is what you picked up on.
His story is incredible, almost as incredible as his art. He went through years of basically torture, and he is still not 100% (Hi Ren is what he made while not 100%, let that sink in!)
His song Sick Boi explains a little bit of his struggles, so does his song Troubles.

I think the "civilian mind" line from the Shadow persona might have led you to wonder about the military, so that's an understandable thing to wonder. I think it's more about the shadow calling him a blind civilian, a sheep who takes whatever pills he's given without questioning.
This is the kind of artistry that gives "broken" people hope. Ren, through this performance piece, has become to a lot of people exactly what he stated in the song, "...the voice that you hear when you loosen the noose on the rope". So powerful, so impactful. Even the song structure itself is incredible. It starts off as a battle between his positive (Angel) and negative (Demon) aspects, the negative then makes an overpowering last ditch effort to reign supreme, tearing free and trying to take control, but ultimately fails as the final act, being the "God" aspect, emerges Triumphant, though still acknowledging and accepting that it will ALWAYS be a battle because we are all "a coin with 2 different sides". It's a beautifully cathartic and raw musical masterpiece. Ren is truly special. Welcome to the Ren rabbit-hole, it's a trip worth taking. This was the 4th take he did and yes, it was done live. Wait until you hear some of his other stuff, especially his storytelling ("The Tale of Jenny & Screech"). You haven't even touched the breadth of this young man's talent yet.
The pig character (imo) represents the doctors and therapist who have essentially butchered him for years through their misdiagnosis. It's the system (Capitalism) that focuses on peddling more pills than on genuinely trying to help to fix broken/ill people, caring more about profit than individual health. The bastardization of the hippocratic oath. He literally thought he was going insane because he was told repeatedly that the pain and symptoms he was experiencing were all in his head (psychosomatic). He had reached a point where he literally resigned himself to dying before he reached 30. Turns out he had Lyme's disease the whole time and it ran rampant through his system for almost 10 years, even to the point of causing brain damage. Ironically, if Ren hadn't gone through what he has, would he have ever made the art he has? There's no question that his suffering has shaped his music and now he's finally getting the recognition he undoubtedly deserves. I've said it before, I'll say it again, Ren is special.

My perception of Ren's two aspects of his personality are that one side is the anger and the darker parts of him, and the other side is the creativity and all the joyful parts. It's all Ren but there's a duality and contrast. I think anyone who's ever been angry about injustice can relate to his darker side, and anyone who's ever been passionate about something can relate to the hope that the lighter side lives in.

Keep doing reactions to Ren, and the RENegades will be sure to find you. Seeing new people discover his music gives us a bit of that feeling when we first discovered him ourselves. If you are looking to dive more into his rap songs, "Hunger" and "Genesis" are my usual go to for some of hia older stuff. "Animal flow" is also good and is newer. Honestly, you really can't go wrong with pretty much all of his songs and he coveres a spectrum of genres.

My friend... Holy smokes! I haven't really seen that kind of excitement over this video since the first time I watched it! It's so great to see a person's face when they first find Ren. And you had a similar reaction to my own when you got to the hope/rope bars.
Don't expect all of his stuff to be like this. This is an artist who will not be boxed in. From my perspective, he (and those Ren adjacent aka The Reniverse) has music for any conceivable emotion. Any mood or occasion. As a "for instance" try Back on 74/Message in a Bottle (Live retake). A completely different side of him. Radically different. Then there's The Hunger. I can't even describe it adequately. The flow changes are amazing.

Some of my favorites; The Tape of Jenny and Screech, The Hunger, Losing It, Troubles, How To Be Me, Blind Eyed, Seven Sins, Uninvited... I can go on and on. He honestly doesn't have any skips for me. If it's a Ren song, I'm all in. He just doesn't miss. Oh and I forgot to mention he was also in a busking band called The Big Push and they are phenomenal.
Also just so you know a little of Ren's backstory... Ren was very ill for almost 10 years. It took doctors that long to find out that he has Lyme's disease. Because of the misdiagnosis and wrong medications given, it caused massive problems which ended up with him having all kinds of physical issues, brain damage, and also bouts of psychosis. He just finished up a year and a half treatment in Canada and there's finally been an upward curve in his health. Through it all he has gained a massive following who helped to give him the number one album in UK last year. I think that you will come to love rent as each of us do. Not only is he amazingly talented but he also seems to be one of the most genuine and kind human beings I have ever witnessed. He is literally the type of person I want my children to grow up to be like.
I'm not going to lie, I'm really looking forward to watching your journey in particular because I really liked your vibe. Welcome to the fam and I'll see you on the next one!

Firstly the cuts from the different takes are easy to spot for those prepared to look with varying gown lengths, hand positions and disappearing mics. Oh and of course there is RENs own description of how he spliced together footage from the four different takes.

If you want more rap, try: losing it, illest of out time, down on the beat, if you want more story telling do the tales of Jenny and Screech and violets tale crazy trilogy. If you want to hear him sing more try chalk outlines lines, oceans, and humble. He is such an amazing artist in the truest sense of the word. I honestly don't believe he didn't watch it before. He didn't bat an eye at the "yodeling" at the beginning and that surprises EVERYONE. I’m a little late, but welcome to the multitalented genius Ren! ❤️ This masterpiece is just the tip of the iceberg. Ren is a relatable voice for everyone dancing in the darkness as he eloquently, with all the authenticity of someone who is painfully familiar with it, lets us know that we are not alone and inspires us to keep dancing. And in doing so, Ren has literally saved lives with his art.
Other Renegades will probably recommend songs like Sick Boi and Troubles for insight into his story with illness and years of misdiagnosis. I will just add a suggestion to check out one of my personal favourites that doesn’t get nearly as much attention as it deserves: Crutch feat. Bibi. It’s an older song from before Ren was finally correctly diagnosed with Lyme disease and was written after a breakdown following multiple emergency trips to the hospital. It is heart wrenching and stunning.
And a little help to guide you on your journey: While I’m sure plenty of people will tell you to react to the trilogy of tales in the correct order, it is often overlooked that there are a few other songs best done in order of release (though doesn’t have to be in one sitting): Freckled Angels -> Suic!de -> For Joe.

Man, I've been down the warren of Ren for 20 months. Wish I could do it all over, again. Ren also dropped "Su1cide" right between my cousin's self chosen exit, which shook me beyond what I had experienced in life, and her funeral.

Excellent reaction Tre. You were on top of, or one step ahead of, everything Ren was getting at. My take on it is that you will get nothing but frustration if you try to defeat the demons. You will get equally frustrated aspiring to be an angle. So you must learn to dance between the two. In the beginning he is beaten-down and slumped-over in a wheel chair. At the end he has accepted that he is "only human"; stands-up, sings, and dances his "Happy Dance."

I hear and see 3 characters also and believe they tie into Freud's definition of the human condition. He says there are 3 parts of it...the Id, Ego, and Super ego.
The first two fighting are the Id and Superego. The last is the Ego...the actual human who encompasses both. The 3rd character is also the first one to look directly at us on the word dawn.
