Great tutorial, how about doing a new tutorial on using gigahorse to farm in chives. I can't find information available on how to put gigahorse to farm chives plots. I have an equipment with the chia and chives farming. When installing gigahorse on it, chia was automatically detected, but I don't have information on how to configure and point to the chives folder and farm its plots.
Please do a somewhat detailed build on the HP Z420. I plan on trying this as my next plotter build. Also, would like to know more about the numa isolation setup and what it's purpose along with how to implement on a multi cpu/gpu host.
The Z420 will have more then 1 video. It is a great machine for this purpose.
Please help me to find bottlenech( im using t7810, dual 2698v4 256gb ram and 3070ti. Soft raid x2 nvne. Cuda plotting 10 mins in C5 compression... Possible there are some issue with using pcie lines? Clean win11
What do you think about something like a T5810 with an E5-16xx CPU? I've tried to work with a Lenovo M725s sff but need to get a bigger chassis that fits a GPU or two.
I'm going to buy two more 18TB HDDs for my small farm with currently normal NFT plots on it. My harvester is a mini PC with no GPU in it. I can pump out a normal plot in around 30 min without using flash. So should I fill up those new drives with NFT plots now, wait for the official new release or get a low power GPU to put in the Farmer and switch to MaxMax?
Wow that's some insane plotting speeds! I'm drolling about all your hardware xD But for all that you need HDDs. When did you purchase all the disks? What type of disks are they and how is it arranged?
What cabling did you need to power up your 3080?
my t5810 set up is doing 3 min k32 c8 plots and i'm happy with that for now

@@SchofieldBrothersRacing just a rtx 3070, 256GB ddr4, one Samsung 970 evo 2TB, cpu doesn’t matter any Xeon is okay. For storage have 4 SuperMicro JBOD directly connected with 9210 hba at 6Gbps

My 3080ti does the job for me with a basic pc 5900x with 128g ram. I'm not big 200tib and I get 3.7m plots but c7 plots
That’s insane only if you can buy 100 TB worth of drives for less than $1000 CAD
Which is why I mentioned the vast majority of folks probably are good with a single GPU replotting their farm.

On a pool you will have a lot of fluctuations as you are plotting up your farm. In addition I have had downtime tweaking SAS jbod settings that will also impact payout.
I've been messing with C6 and C7, and C7 is decompressable in CPU, using a 5930k, and lookups on a C7 are about 5-6secs, although below the 10secs, C6s for CPU farming is better, just 2GB bigger plot file but lookups i got 2-3secs on it. For those peeps that only have CPU or AMD gpu (as me lol), on the farmer
How many C7 are you looking at there on CPU decompressing?
@@DigitalSpaceport To be honest dunno yet, got around 450tb to cicle out. Even for gpu, think C7 are kinda pointless, way more compute necessary than c6 , just for -2gb plots, and vs C8, c8 is a no-brainer for gpu. If amd issues is solved then prolly will redoo again for c8
As of now, its being a drive with c6, another with c7, and so forth :)

Comparing to t620 this is insane overkill as for me. I really don’t need to plot that “super-duper-quick”. But thanks for showing us the lmits! Waiting to recieve my t620 case+mb to migrate from my r620 1u. More than enough for my under 1pb setup. Can you advise a couple of optimal budget videocards for plotting/farming?
So strange that my first plot is my fastest and all other plots after slow down.
They would slow down a little bit because of the organization of the CPU after the first part is done until the parts are actually transferred to your storage
It should be just a light load unless you’re already pushing your CPU
How many HDDs are you copying to? I use 5-6 larger/faster HDDS (14TB to 18TB) to prevent a plot final copy bottleneck. (I'm replotting)
@@JRTheElectronicGuy So im running the 12900k so cpu should be no problem. I have 2 nvme ssd in raid0 for my fast ssd and 1 nvme ssd for my final ssd and a 3080ti with 128gb ram. Then I ran a script to move the plots from the final ssd to my hdd's. First plot would be around 4 mins then go to 7-9 mins for all after that. Also never maxed out my ram
I have 2 computers making cpu based chia plots at 10 tib per day, but I am upgrading my 1U servers with each a RTX 3060 12gb. But where does it all end. I think that in the near future that photonic supercomputers may make Grinding Chia a real problem. Let's say that a very powerful computer with a RTX 4090 could make a plot in 90 seconds, then a photonic supercomputer could do it in less than 9 seconds and at 1/10th the power. So, if that is possible today, then what about a few years from now when they have been on the market for a year? Photonic Resistant anyone?
I get the same results with the RTX 4090 on any computer with PCI 3.0
Any insight into what the PoST test yields for farming off the 4090 at C8?
