I remember seeing the “making of” video of this when it first came out. The director told Christina he had a suprise at the end but for her to keep going whenever it happened. Turned out she had no idea the confetti thing was happening at the end. I love it. It’s one of my favorite parts of the video

Aside from them, I can't really think of anyone else from the 90s that's still popular at least pop music wise, so you're right about that. It's no wonder why Christina would rather judge that show instead. It's an easy payday, plus it's the perfect schedule for her since she has a kid.
