- @Hookedonwildventures Day 3 of our Wild Ventures in the Montebello Islands was a wild one - the wind was howling so fiercely we thought our camp stretchers might fly with us in them! Luckily, we found refuge by tying our boat next to an empty pontoon. All the wind apps were WRONG! Our day was limited to beachcombing, snorkeling, and scouting for fishing spots (oh well!). Join us as we cook up the Coral Trout Ricky caught earlier using Margie's trusty SaladMaster pots (our house is devoid of it, all now aboard our boat, Hooked On). Sit back, relax, and enjoy Episode 20 of our comedic and wildly adventurous journey! haha!
We are Ricky & Margie and we have left our home in Darwin to travel to these beautiful places in Australia, fishing, camping, catching what we cook, exploring, discovering more of ourselves and having fun. Ricky used to be a fishing guide in the territory. This year, Margie is his only paying client, haha! Margie juggles her work consulting as a Registered Psychologist and an Australian Immigration Agent and enjoying the outdoors. Enjoy the banter between these near-50-year-old couple act like kids let loose at sea.

What a way to start this episode!!! That wind sounded crazy. But you guys made up for it the following day :) ***btw, I copied your brother's dry rub recipe, Ricky *** This is such a fun episode. So many awesome fishes caught, and reef life Margie filmed was gorgeous. Margie made me laugh when she said "you better release that (much bigger trout) this time hahaha". I will say -- what an AWESOME way to end the day: full bellies, semi milder wind and a beautiful sunset. Can't wait for the next episode...
PS... Marge, I just want to say that design you made to cover/protect your neck from the sun's ray is very nifty. Also, do you guys sell merch yet? I can't remember if I asked this question before. But that dry-wick tops you guys were wearing are nice looking.
Hi Gen, hahha! glad you enjoyed that episode!!! I'm so bad when I dive or snorkel, Gen! I cannot go fishing afterwards, really! I beg Ricky to return every fish he catches, lol. He makes a good point that we have to keep one fish if fish is to be part of our main ingredient for our next meal, haha! We will show you how he cooks the mackerel with the dry rub recipe in the next episode. Yes, our shirts are made our dry wick. material. I should make the available for ordering, right? Another great video. The winds! Sailing season is just around the corner here in Stockholm. Have had some terrible nights out on the boat when the winds don't blow as predicted. Anchor rips in the middle of the night, boat drifting towards rocks. Hmmm, boat life.🫡
Hey Nick!!! Thanks for watching! We are happy you enjoyed that episode! I arch what happens next in the next one coming out!! 😱🤯 yes, the winds are Ricky’s worst nightmare. Thankfully we have only had that happen to us once, the anchor pulling! Now Ricky has two anchors out but that also means the creaking in the middle of the night whilst the tides change…is like an incessant alarm clock 🤣. Yes, boat life! Sailing is another extreme, right? We do it easy with our motorised boat! 😜
