You have a real natural style of delivery for YT, man. Just subscribed. Would love to see more of what you do! Btw dual c70’s was a dream for me. Stoked to see other’s using it. Perfect for corporate work.
I appreciate that man! Was really inspired by you and Joel. I love the c70s and they just fit everything I need for my corporate stuff. Can’t wait to see what you do next too!
Sound advice (you should excuse the pun). I experienced a major audio source meltdown off a concert event master board. Thank goodness I also set up my own microphones and second recorder (w timecode) or I would been boiled in oil by my client.
Haha I enjoyed that! I really can't count the times the master mix has had issues and I had to rely on my back up recordings. But don't get me wrong, a large percentage of the time it is fine, but having that safety net keeps the clients calling.
Thanks for the question! I was doing creative development stuff for a company I use to work for and decided I want to do that sort of stuff on my own because we were using all of my equipment I had at the time. So I decided to quit but offer them a contract that I would continue to do what I was doing but separately. From there I just took a few opportunities at lesser pays to show other companies that I could make videos for them. After that I just aimed to keep 3-4 companies on retainer at a time and that provided me enough financial freedom to not have to work for anyone and keep making videos. So now we get some one off videos every year from other companies and I aim to give them a good experience and then offer them an alternative to 1 video contracts and to look at a years worth of content and we will make it for them. Companies that I work with like it because we are there video people and they can trust we know their style and what they want. Makes the process of making a video easier for them, they don’t have to find someone every time they need/want a video.

Don’t you wish you had timecode for the H6?
It would have been a nice feature! I have an F8NPro that we use on set. The H6 just sits on my desk 😂
Curious how you started getting corporate gigs?
