@mvmracing If I were to do this for someone I would probably do it for a little of nothing honestly lol Somehow I enjoy doing it 😎 If they're on the car or they wanted them polished also then we would have to discuss a price. And that depends on how bad they are to start
I appreciate when dudes aren't making click bait videos in a million dollar auto shop. No magic filming, you showed the whole process. I'm going to do exactly this tomorrow. You're the man... Thanks.
Great video! Great vibes. Not pretentious or plugging for some expensive or specific product. Very user friendly. Thanks so much for sharing this and making it easy to follow for all levels of car owners/cleaners. Gonna do my concave raw aluminum 19s later.
Thank you, I found this video to be very helpful. I have Eagle Alloy wheels on my wife's 2002 Silverado. I just replaced the rotors and brake pads on the rear, & I was wanting to clean them up before I put the wheels & tires back on!
I have Been to detail SHOPS and body SHOPS here in a Philippines and THEYMHAVE nomidea howmto properly clean or refurbishment aliuminian WHEEL,totally in The dark!!!!!!!
Nice! I have a Mazda CX9 with aluminum and clear coat that has peeled off and the aluminum is all black and pitted so I'm going to be using a disc sander/polisher and progressively finer grit discs to clean it up and re-clear. Wish me luck!
Dude this is a great video. I was trying to find how to clean my very stained aluminum OE wheels on my 95 S10. There u were Roi with the answer!! I also looked at your video about your GMC work truck. Man you have great imagination & unique ideas/style. My S10 is my work truck and daily driver. I am going to begin fixing the interior up a bit & you have inspired me.!! One more thing. There is a gamer on yt with ur same name & his stuff dominates when someone tries to find you. You might think of a new name so your channel can grow & people can find you, I subscribed to your channel for your self help videos. We think alike my brother. Sincerely Larry C
Thanks. Good ideas. I have some caked corrosion on my Aluminum Jeep Wrangler TJ Rims. I'll have to try a plastic scraper and probably some degreaser and cleaner to get it. Finish with Aluminum Brite. Thanks for the ideas.
I figured steel wool would work. I’m working on some gmc wheels right now. I’m decladding some 6 spoke wheels to put on my Tahoe. I want that sport suv look to it. I used to be painter. And we would use steel wool to sand molding. We could get to all nooks n crannies
I picked up a 2015 Honda Civic with only 28,000 miles, great little car, but came with winter tires.. A friend just got rid of a 2003 Lincoln Town Car, and gave me the 16" wheels for summer tires, same bolt pattern, and 16 is fine. need cleaning badly, so thank you very much
Very helpful video. Im having a similar situation. Kind of surprised you don't have affiliate links for products through Amazon or similar site of products that you would recommend to use. That would be helpful for us that don't want to go run around town looking for a halfway decent product that actually works, and would help you out with a little cash kick back from those online sites. Just a thought 🤷 Us lazy people just want to click a link and wait for a product to show up at the door. Especially when we have several projects going on at one time.
@Ya_Boi_Roy hey not to put down your great idea but what do u think about using a oven cleaner in place of the purple. Just curious to know what u thought.
Thank you for the video. Do you think a wax or something similar added to the aluminum for protection would work? I used aluminum bright and noticed it stained right away. Using on a semi truck fuel tank and rims.
Good vid something everyone can do and appreciate no musaac one suggestion use scotchbrite instead of steel wool won't splinter or rust scotchbrite white equal to 0000 steel wool grey equal to 000 steel wool
@@YaBoiRoy just a tip, it would also protect your raw wheels. Especially if you live in a state where winters put harsh salts and chemicals on the road. You don't have to swap your wheels and worry about damaging the finish on the rims
If you find this video helpful, drop a thumbs up and leave a comment 😎
Hey Roy, just wondering, how much do you charge to do a rim? Or do you charge per set? Like how you come up with charging someone?
@mvmracing If I were to do this for someone I would probably do it for a little of nothing honestly lol
Somehow I enjoy doing it 😎 If they're on the car or they wanted them polished also then we would have to discuss a price. And that depends on how bad they are to start
Oh ok, but can you give me a close guestimate? I'm just thinking of doing this as a side hustle. Any help I would greatly appreciate it.
@mvmracing I would probably pay 20 to 25 bucks a wheel
To polish and clean those wheels back to a chrome shine you could buy new wheels its a job
I appreciate when dudes aren't making click bait videos in a million dollar auto shop. No magic filming, you showed the whole process. I'm going to do exactly this tomorrow. You're the man... Thanks.
Yes sir 😎
My guy did the whole job pretty much with one hand, I can respect it.

Very nice job Roy, I agree with you, I like the wheels to look 'aluminum' too, not big on the polished finish.
Yea that raw look is definitely where it's at for me 😎👍🏾
thanks man gonna try this same method today

That fine Steel Wool is what I was missing, rough spunge wasnt cutting it and think the Wire Steel Spunge might scratch it. Thanks bro

If I clean them and want a good shine, I finish them off with mothers aluminum polish.... It's a lot of work, but it provides a good shine
I need a set of these bad on my 98
Thanks for the vid
Good shit Man.
Already 😎

Hi .would be nice to post a products list used in this restoration. I really liked the flat finish
A good degreaser, Aluminum Brite, & 4 0000 steel wool pad
Where did you buy the aluminum bright from?
Bumper to Bumper auto parts store
Nice
Good vid something everyone can do and appreciate no musaac one suggestion use scotchbrite instead of steel wool won't splinter or rust scotchbrite white equal to 0000 steel wool grey equal to 000 steel wool
Yea I can see that 😎👍🏾
what is the grade on the steelwool just purchased some rima that need cleaning
0000
what degreaser do you use and what aluminum brightener do u use
I think any brand is fine. I pick the ones I used up at bumper to bumper but I'm sure they all use similar brands
Dope ass truck
Preciate it 😎
what kind of rims are those
What are the materials called
Wish I could find a set for my 98 chevy
Man its tough
Bro does that Aluma brite sting your hands ???
Sometimes, I definitely would recommend wearing gloves lol
What are the two chemicals? I know one is purple power but I don’t know what the other one is.
Aluminum Brite and a good degreaser
Did you try oven cleaner on them? I heard it works the best..
Never tried it
What brand of aluminum bright did you use?
I'm honestly not sure. I picked it up from a bumper to bumper store
What specific aluminum bright did u use
I'm not sure what brand I used that day, but I do remember picking it up at Napa
@@YaBoiRoy oh ok 👍 thanks
Can you do a polish tutorial?
Yea as soon as the weather gets a lil better 👍🏾😎
Spray on some ceramic wax coating and it protects and keeps the shine
I actually prefer em raw on my little truck
