ASHEVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA - Welcome to North Carolina, and I was very excited to spend a few days in Asheville, one of the most exciting and laid back cities in the United States. They are known for the amazing outdoors, art culture, and delicious food scene. Today I’m taking you on a food tour in Asheville where we’re eating BBQ, one of the best chicken sandwiches in USA, and amazing Indian food!
Also, it was great to hang out with my friends Christy and Croix from Tuk Tuk Box (tuktukbox.com/) - Check out their cool Southeast Asian snack boxes, and their spicy box: tuktukbox.com/collections/the...
Buxton Hall Barbecue (goo.gl/maps/UTHPnDc8Z4Zb4224A) - First up on this tour of Asheville we headed to Buxton Hall Barbecue, a restaurant by Chef Elliott Moss and Chef Meherwan Irani. They have a huge menu of Southern USA food along with amazing Carolina barbecue. Their chicken sandwich was rated as one of the best chicken sandwiches in the United States, and as soon as you take your first bite you’ll know why - it’s one of the juiciest, yet crispiest chicken sandwiches you’ll ever have. Amazing restaurant, highly recommended.
The S&W Market (goo.gl/maps/kC3xAhoK8EDuZKD17) - Next up we walked over to The S&W Market a food hall in downtown. Chef Elliott Moss has a small chicken sandwich restaurant and they also have brewery and a nice place to eat and relax.
Chai Pani Asheville (g.page/ChaiPani?share) - Finally to finish this North Carolina food tour in Asheville we walked over to Chai Pani Asheville, one of the best Indian restaurants, especially for chaats, by Chef Meherwan Irani. Their food is fantastic, and both Croix and I could get enough of the keema, fried okra, and pav bhaji. It’s really a must eat when you’re in Asheville.
And that completes this delicious food tour in Asheville, North Carolina, an amazing laid back town with delicious food and drinks and nature surrounding.

I love how Mark gets so excited and hyped when he eats food in every video. He makes me hungry all the time. Awesome Video Mark!
He takes his family everywhere it's awesome 😊
Shoutout to Ying for the amazing focusing and her attention to detail. Truly an outstanding photographer! Of course seeing Micah made my day once again.
I love the way Micah went for the two handfuls of rice!!!! ❤️❤️❤️
In India you are not supposed to let the cooked rice touch your palms. U only use fingers to eat and use spoons to distribute. Would have been funny if you do it in the presence of an Indian grandma 😄 🤣 😂
Watching your videos is like coming home from work and finding that your friend is in town from abroad. And just like a good friend, I enjoy seeing you happy. I have to be eating when I watch your videos, or else it's straight up torture. Doesn't matter if it's just chips and salsa, I at least am not watching you eat and drooling all over myself.
Oh wow!Everything looked absolutely delicious but the Asheville chicken sandwich and the Philadelphia brisket cheese sandwich are the icing on the cake !
I'm fasting, yet can't stop watching these videos lol, those chicken sandwiches look amazing, I'm now craving them!
Mark, did you get younger? Must be the happy laugh after a tasty bite of good food. I think you have "Oh, Wow!"ed yourself a decade younger. Never stop! Love the videos! ❤
Mark, I have been watching you for a few months now. You have inspired me to try Thai and Indian foods. While on vacation, my husband and I went to an authentic Thai restaurant near our hotel. The husband and wife were from Thailand. The food was so good. Then the next day day we went and authentic Indian restaurant about an hour and a half away from the hotel. Again, great food. Both restaurants are family owned and operated. I can not wait to go back to the little Thai restaurant before going home. Thank you Mark.
I love watching the contrast between how Mark and Croix enjoy their food. Mark is exuberant; Croix is a bit more reserved, but man, you could tell he was really into that Indian food lol
I like it when you go to different places and eat a variety of foods instead of the same thing over and over. Great video!
I’ve been watching lots of Mark’s videos eating all the delicious food but I love when he is eating American sandwich the best! Crunchy fluffy bread with satisfying fillings always make me want to eat it!😆💕
@Sushimaster go be a gatekeeper somewhere else 🥱
@Sushimaster you should be taking your own advice lmao she said her opinion
I watch your videos too! Hello from Setagaya!

Remaining humble?….How does he stay so thin?

It’s the best chicken sandwich I have ever seen! Hope I can try it
Chai pani is Asheville's classic restaurant. Great hospitality, amazing food and best service. Very happy that you filmed it Mark.
I love how a lot of these places are still taking precautions!!!!! Love it! 🤍
Glad to see Mark back in NC! I met Mark and family while getting on an elevator after making a pizza delivery in RTP. Such nice folks and even asked for a recommendation for a place to eat while visiting, so many great places to try... i had to think fast and told him to try Kipos in Chapel hill. Hope it pops up in his videos at some point
Asheville is my favorite food and beer city in the US! I absolutely love Chai Pani. They are mostly vegetarian, but it doesn't matter, the food is incredible.

Im drooling with ya, I bet that chicken sandwich was so delicious.❤❤
I would love to see you try the one chip challenge. I’ve never seen anyone deal with spice so well you would kill this challenge
I was just in Ashville, and wish this had come out a few weeks ago. Didn't try any of these places, but found some great ones on our own. 12 Bones BBQ, Chestnut, and Salsa are some I would recommend. Also make sure you go to the breweries, (large and small).
That chicken sandwich as well as the Phllly Cheese Brisket looks soooooooooooo gooood! Lol. Indian food is a personal fave too, how can it not be? Your passion, excitement, and appreciation for food creations is so apparent in your vids, Mark. It makes us just as excited and gives us a feeling as though we are experiencing your food journeys right along with you. Great job, once again!
you KNOW the food is good when he doesn't break out hot sauce
@@landychapman3 Haha, right?! Didn't even catch that.
I'm never imagine Indian street food in Ashville, NC but everything looked legit. I just love that Mark knows the right things to order and the right way to eat them as well as explains them perfectly; clearly the time he's spent in India show here. Awesome stuff, Mark; honestly didn't expect that segment in this video and location.
as far as i know chai pani is owned by a first-gen indian family but idk otherwise
The guy that started Chai pani also started a Indian street food place in charlotte n.c. called boti wala. The vata pav is amazing
@@tiocfaidharla251 good to know I don't have to drive to Asheville. I live here in Charlotte. Already on the boti walla website and menu.
I don't see Palak Paneer 🥺 I'm sad
@@keeshabrown7353 yeah I think boti walla is more Indian street food but just like Chai pani it's James beard award winning so definitely worth a try! I loved the vata pav. I you go to optimist hall there's a place there that has fried mochi balls that I had dreams about after, they were so good lol! That dang good.
@@tiocfaidharla251 the Vata Pav is the spicy potato dish, correct!?
Oh wow!Everything looked absolutely delicious but the Asheville chicken sandwich and the Philadelphia brisket cheese sandwich are the icing on the cake !

It's so crazy to see someone I've followed for so long walking around my old stomping grounds.
No doubt !!!

Mmmmmm... all of it looks divine. Also, NC is actually a place I could plan a trip to, finally! 🥰
He's not lyin' about Buxton Hall........it's really that good!! Just like with Chik-Fil-A, the secret is, the raw chicken breasts are marinated overnight in Pickle-Juice.
I've tried almost everything there but I haven't tried the BBQ Hash yet.

WOW...I live like 45 mins away. Should have tried Muñoz taqueria on Patton Ave. Love your channel. Will have to try the bbq place now.😀
Nice video mark. Like to watch when mark enjoys eating food, that positive vibe on mark's face makes me feel happy. Loved all the places & food shown in this video. Happy to see Indian food in North Carolina & liked mark also loved Indian food. Thanks for this video mark.
Love the Chai Pani segment. I love the food of India. I caught the audio of Micha asking about "his" food? I don't have children myself but I know that children can be picky eaters and that they can grow to be picky eaters as adults. My father believed that I enjoyed the food he liked because I saw him enjoying his food. I don't actually believe this. I believe our enjoyment of food is partially genetic and partially cultural. I also believe that people's palate's change as they get older. I recall not liking chicken gizzards as a child, but when I tried them as an adult, I liked them. Your son is still very young and I look forward to the day, probably when he is 15, that maybe he starts tucking into some great food from around the world with his dad!
Mark, come again to Bali. Lots of delicious Balinese food here. 😀🙌
🔥🔥🔥💪 I need to start trying more foods😂 I'm definitely missing out I always eat what I grew up on I never try nothing new 😂

When i was a little girl over 65 years ago, we had S and W Cafeteria in South Mecklenberg County, Charlotte, NC. It was great, My mom would take us once a month for lunch. I never saw such an explosion of different dishes ever! You didn’t know what to choose!
Micha going from the rice made me think of my god son, took him out for Chinese and the only thing he wanted was the white rice. :)

That Chai Pani restaurant you went to just got the prestigious James Heard award. Definitely deserved it for highlighting Indian street food when 99.99% of Indian restaurants in the US have the same old, same old ...
Well deserved 👏 I want to try that restaurant
