Swapped out the 3.5 H.P. Briggs & Stratton engine on the Bonanza minibike
for a DuraMax 208cc engine.
Did a top speed and 0 to 30 test to see what difference the DuraMax engine would max in performance.

Thanks! ! Ya, I'll have to do that. I just happen to have a totally stock Predator with the governor still installed. I can use that for the video
To somebody who doesn't know all that much about Engines like myself lol you would think that going from 3.5 Horsepower to 7 Horsepower would make more than only a 5 mph increase in speed. But just goes to show it's not all about Horsepower when it comes to going fast. It's all in the gearing and performance parts. There are lower Horsepower Engines out there that will leave a higher Horsepower Engine in the dust if they're set up properly.
For sure! The engine is rated at 7h.p but it will only turn around 4k RPM the way its set up , it doesn't have much more top speed. Torque is a different story. The engine has a lot more torque than the 3.5 H.P so it gets up to a given speed a lot faster. I have more videos coming out with this engine. It gets a lot faster once it has more RPM potential...
FYI you have to drill the piece where the throttle cable goes other wise it will not fit in with the metal throttle. Also I had problems with the filter fitting in so I put the screw that holds the booth of the throttle cable closer to the tank.
Please make more vids with this motor/ minibike!! I just got one and it rips but only goes 32 sadly and I’m already wanting to do way more stuff with it😂

Been wondering for awhile, where did you get your bike work stand? Being bent over all the time working on my bike is uncomfortable.
I wish I could tell you what store it came from. I got it from my dad a while back. He had a go-kart shop back in the 1980s. I'll have to see if I can find out where he got it from.

Black66. If you pull the head are you able to let us know if it uses 27/25 valves? Another nice thing to know is if it uses a clone crankshaft. (rod journal and flywheel taper) Thanks.

Is the Bonanza a vintage bike, or can you still buy them new? If so, where, and how much?
Ya, its a vintage bike . I found this one on Craigslist. I have seen them on eBay . You can also buy simular new bikes at gokartsusa and go power sports and places like that.
@@Black66 Yeah, but GPS wants 900 bucks for their Rascal kit, PLUS the engine! I think that's too much. So I'll scrounge up used frames and parts. I know a guy, lol.

I know weight makes a big difference! We used to race karts in the 1980's . I f there was no weight class you ,get the smallest person to drive .
What gear ratio does that have with the 208 I'm putting a 208 on my bike
It has a 5 to 1 ratio 12 on the clutch 60 on the rear. Check out the playlist
