This song was played at the funeral service for my wife. We were together for 49 years. I just assumed we had another 25 years to go. She's been gone 6 months now and this song still rips me to pieces.
My wife passed away last year; it would have been our 50th Wedding Anniversary 2 months ago. I'm glad I've only just discovered this wonderful song - it would have been just too emotional at her funeral.
Das tut mir sehr leid für dich! Ich weiss wie schmerzhaft es ist, einen geliebten Menschen zu verlieren! Im Herzen wird sie aber ewig bei dir weiter leben! Alles GUTE für deinen weiteren Weg!!!
Sorry for your loss
No posing. Just a phenomenal amount of talent. Another great Canadian band proud to say.❤❤❤
👍🙏👏💯🇨🇦
Lovely, those final feet, watch a friend slowly die, break's your heart.
I'd be happy to have this song played at my funeral. It could make a dead man smile and cry bittersweet tears.
God damn right brother!
Me as well Partner
Me as Well Brother God Bless
I was thinking the same thing as well!
I'm gonna be young forever. Never lose your child like Innocence
I'll never forget seeing The Cowboy Junkies at the Three Rivers Arts Festival in Pittsburgh. It rained. Margo said,; "If you stay, we will play". Well, we stayed and they played and it was like nothing I have heard since.
Michael Timmons is one of the best song writers of our time. His songs touch the deepest part of my soul.
Just discovering and very much enjoying in 2023
Oh Margo absolutely beautiful.
Just how goddamned good is this woman!
Very damn good
Darn Good..even Better
She's a gift from god.
Hell yeah!
@@danking935 Sometimes god gives with both hands.

Greetings from Dublin Ireland brother and sisters forgot how bloody good they are LIVE.
I have heard of this band but never heard their music, I'm addicted, will be looking all over the web for them, lord t are great.
I met Margo’s voice and the band’s music when I was 19 I’m 53 now and they still touch the same
Yup. 21-55.
18 now 57. Her voice is like her looks its get better with age.
U don't Cry when you listen to this Song!!;You ain't human ❤
I cried.
Lol....first time hearing song today....awesome
I love Margot’s voice. The Cowboy Junkies have always been fantastic. Not bad for someone who didn’t want to sing for a living.
Her VOICE...thank you so much, for giving it to our ears. :-) Greetings from Holland.
Truly incredible. Not only silky smooth but it cuts down to the bone.
Reminds me of my Mothers final Days..RIP Nancy 🕊💙🕊
Earth shattering, that is her voice. God love her.
Beautiful.
The Most Beautiful Song...I cried all the way thru...Oh what a Sweet 1
Margo's intensity of delivery is shattering.
That side shot with her hair blowing gives me chills,
as does the timbre of her unique voice.
My God ... Margo is so brilliant here. What a voice!
I Fell in love with Margo the first time I watched the video for "cheap is how I feel" on much music on the 📡 😊
Beautiful voice and story, I started a list of songs to be played at my funeral, this is the 1st. ❤️
First, huge Cowboy Junkies fan. Ever since I first heard Caution Horses in ‘90. Always loved Those Final Feet, but this live version & the emotion in Margo’s voice as she sings it takes it to a new level. Tremendous band both musically & lyrically.
She sends chills up my spine and gives me goosebumps and tears to my eyes! Thank you!!!
I've been hooked on the Cowboy Junkies for years. What a GREAT band. I often put them up on the BOSE wireless speakers and play my acoustic all night long next to them. LOL.... Plus I always had a crush on Margot :-)
Headphones on, Precision slung from my shoulder, amp powered up, hit play and disappear..............Love those Cowboy Junkie moods.
you and the rest of any red blooded male! im with ya!
We've all always had crush on Margot, Daniel. She is a gift to the world. ;-)
@@gregmcfarlane4208 Exactly
Za fantastic song in combinatie with the band !!!
Margo's singing at 4:23 is the definition of transcendent- geez!
im with you, but also the 4 imnutes before and the 1/2 minute after. Total agreement!
...geezus - what a voice...what a story...this is transcending...
And yes, this tune rocks too. Think of my Father with this one
All excellent , the melody , lyrics , your voice . Bravissimo !
Thank you girl .
When she looks off into nowhere after the final verse....drums come in....then during the last chorus she's gritting her teeth......she's completely immersed in her performance. It's almost like the song is singing HER......taking her somewhere. Watching her sing this....she almost isn't human for 5 minutes.
Skin crawling brilliant
Agree she is living it
A true singer, Mike Stipe of REM was like that, the song controlled him as much as he did it....
Damn right
One of my favorite Cowboy Junkies song.
This is what it sounds like when an angel sings
Powerful Song. Awesome
seriously, from the first time i heard them on wxpn til today, no band has captured so much emotion, so much gut wrenching how did i f*** up my life and at the same time leave you feeling uplifted at the end.
Wow!!! What a song and what a band. Breathtaking
Love this song
LOVE MARGO... When the Cowboys Junkies came out, I found a mirror. So, I bought their
Cassett. As Life throws us tragedies, their music
has never been more important to me.
My husband, 5 years tommorrow fell during
Work and broke his neck, resulting in
BOB becoming a quadrapelegic C4...
EVERYTHING Changes,peace.
Great music…..terrific sound…..perfect!
Love Margo and this group!
🖤👊👊💛 from Breda,the Netherlands!!
Without exception my favourite Junkies track
simply adore this voice
Goddamn....no words to describe her voice and talent....great band....ty❤❤❤
So enjoyable. I love this band.
Open.... sublime
Love of the truth = fountain of youth... do not tell lies... do not do what you hate...
In spite of the electric ukelele this is very listenable. Margot Timmins has the rare talent of producing a singing voice at low volume.
Ukulele? It's a mandolin. And, it appears he's taken half the strings off and, I assume, run it through a 12 string FX box. That's a lot of attention to detail.
Cowboy Junkies are the best.....period....
Mesmerising
Thought provoking
And such a powerful beautiful amf NATURAL voice
❤❤❤❤
Heartbreaking
wow! tonight i met the cowboy junkies and margo timmins...i have missed so much! time to do some catching up.
Absolutely lovely.
Margo voce divina, interpretazione da brividi, donna stupenda

Thank you for sharing this magic
Love that mando!
Deus do Céu! Que maravilha de voz...Deus te Abençoe.
Love it 🎶🌈
Awesome version of this song, I like it better than the studio version on the CD!
+sportsterray66 I agree. This is a good tune on Miles From Our Home, but it's simply brilliant here.
I'm going to see them Nov.20th here in Chicago at The Old Town School of Folk Music, bought two of the last three tickets available for that night!
Lucky lucky. Enjoy the show! They haven't been through Dallas in a while. Hoping I get the chance.
I hope you do too, after three decades, they might decide to quit touring soon, glad I get to see them finally!
Le groupe est parfait 🎉🎉😊
Great band and a fantastic singer!!!
Fantástic 🎵👌😄
I saw the incredible Cowboy Junkies during the (Rodney King) Los Angeles riots of 1992. It was a mesmerizing, almost phantasmagoric show. They opened for John Prine at the Pantages Theater on Hollywood Boulevard on May 8th of 1992.
Although history states the LA riots ended a few days earlier, only the arsonist and looting stopped at that time. Hollywood Boulevard was blocked off by the National Guard checkpoints for 3 weeks in May. The freeway exits from Hollywood, South beyond South Central LA, were blocked off. It was eerie approaching the Pantages theater, and seeing an empty Hollywood Boulevard with fully armed guardsman with automatic weapons.
The Pantages has approximately 2,700 seats, but only 500 were filled. We were able to move in close to the stage. I've never been to a concert with such a mesmerizing ambience, out of the 200+ shows I've been to.
Lyrics:
Place my body on the funeral pyre,
Cut it loose to float downstream
Leave it frozen on a mountain top,
Suspend it high to be picked clean
You said never to grow old,
But you forgot to tell me how
You said never to grow old
And then you sank your teeth into those final feet
Last night I dreamt of owls at my window
I knew that time was winding down
Turned to tell you of my premonition,
Changed my mind and lay back down
You said never to grow old,
But you forgot to tell me how
You said never to grow old
And then you sank your teeth into those final feet
No sense wasting the time you got,
You got to walk down every road
No sense pretending that you're what you're not,
When you got to shoulder every load
You said never to grow old,
But you forgot to tell me how
You said never to grow old
And then you sank your teeth into those final feet
You said never to grow old,
But you forgot to tell me how
You said never to grow old
Her voice has matured so nicely.
I would be willing to crawl those Final Feet to hear the Cowboy Junkies perform.
Pure goddess.
En plus vous êtes très jolie ❤❤

Is that really true about when the owl calls your name. Old northern First people saying, read a book by that title once. I guess when it happens, only you alone will know.
