I was a strong supporter of the 2nd referendum campaign, ardent Remainer. I'm a dual national, Portuguese/SAfrican, and lived in the UK from 1999 till 2019, when I finally left for Austria after Bojo won that election. Although as a Portuguese/EU national I could not vote in the referendum, as a SOUTH AFRICAN, a Commonwealth national resident in the UK, I could vote! Wrap that around your head. I just spent 3 months back in the UK helping my sister take care of my very ill mother. I still have Settled Status in the UK. I returned to Vienna on the 27th Jan. While I was in the UK the last 3 months, I was astounded at how no-one, in Langley, Windsor, Maidenhead and Bracknell area, wanted to admit Brexit was an enormous mistake. Starmer is a disappointment in that he doesn't want to re-enter at least the single market. That's nuts.

Reduced travel and work opportunities, lower trade, lower GDP, lower value of pound, fishing, transport and farming in trouble, increased cost of living. These are the benefits of Brexit (sorry if I've missed any). For Farage et al this is success because we have sovereignty whatever the hell that means.
