I was working in London at the time of the Brexit vote and every time I was outside of London all I could see were ‘leave’ signs. In my opinion I think the vote was not necessarily to leave, but was the first opportunity for everyone to have a vote to let London know that there are other towns and cities other than London. I watched a programme called ‘mind the gap London’, I’m not sure how factually correct this may have been, but it suggested a large proportion of tax payers money was invested in London. It makes sense that this may happen as London attracts a lot of foreign investment because of this, however people not benefiting from this when voting probably thought “I’ll show you”.

Its funny that I have never been to UK, but still one thing changed to me… I don’t fly with British Airways since then, somehow it got more expensive

I am originally from London but now live in County Durham. Unfortunately, the mentality of people here, sorry to say the vast majority, is deeply, deeply hostile to anything or anyone that is not local. The mentality is deeply inward looking, wholly uneducated and zero levels of an enquiring mind. In a word, "thick". Also racism is thriving here. I have made friends but they are either the minority, who are educated or other non locals. Examples of people's ability. I recently went to Romania for a few days, a local asked, "did I need jabs"? Another local asked when I returned from another city break (Helsinki) where that was? Countless times been told, "What's in London "!. The NE is in the 1950s, mentality wise, apart from Newcastle and Geordies who are both great, and voted to remain .I miss London hugely, but not the cost of everything. I'm saying all of this as County Durham voted 70+% to leave. Says it all. They are all pro Farage here too!
